Esther: You can get the contact of the florist through your coordinator. The additional flora decor/setting etc. will be a separate charge with the florist. they can do additional sash for the chairs, additional decor for the stage, individual menu plates etc. we saw a nicely decorated setting with all these extras during on of our recees to M hotel. very nice

But, for the stage back drops, i worry i cant do anything to it, due to the projector on the back drop of the stage, but i do find the banquet suite stage very plain...
 
u mean those what we see in the banquet suite setting during the wedding show is decorated by the florist?

the actual decoration will be difference ( eg less sash, no inividual menu plates etc???)
 
Maycat: yes, the normal themes only have sash for the 2 VIP tables. I believe the menu plates are additional cost although i like the idea too. All these cost will have to liaise with the florist. Or you can ask your coordinator to help u ask.
 
i booked anson room. haha i still thought tat the guest chairs will have the sash tied on but seem like that is only doable with additional cost. how abt the staircase that leads to anson room? not sure if there will be sash tied ard the handle?
 
i was just wondering how come the groom and bride of the day who use the banquet suite actually want to let M hotel use as a wedding show...

now then i see that maybe is becoz of the complementary florist setting?

anyway when i first saw it, i really wow at the M hotel setting... if M hotel do give this as a in the package, trust me ..alot of people will sign with M hotel!

for me, i won waste money on the florist too...who know there will be wedding show on my wedding day ?? haha

during the wedding show, the Banquet suite's Theme is the Enchanted (Black and Red theme). very nice. too bad, i didnt take any pictures of it..

the website you provide is not enchanted theme.. and the wedding show actually add in more deco from the florist so make it very nice..
 
oic...coz according to my coordinator, anything additional will be chargable.

I think that will be additional costs added to the wedding package.
 
Hmm.. Sounds like on the actual day, if we just take the theme provided by the hotel, the ballroom will looks very plain and nothing special

because, what i saw during the wedding show, the chairs are all with sashs, and every table with individual glass table menu. (meaning all these are additional cost) The Banquet Suite package is already S$928nett, Plus all these additional cost, may come up to 1K or so... im thinking isit worth it? ... Heard that M hotel has recently increase the price of the Banquet Suite dinner for 2010-2011, now per table is S$828++, add up equal S$969nett/table. Hope M Hotel can bring in more Classy and elegant theme..
 
Hi may i know which coordinator of M hotel is good? Is evageline nice?

Hw long before the wedding actual day will they contact to meetup to discuss the theme, wedding favors, invite cards etc? The food tasting is standard 8-course meal rite?

i m not sure which coordinator is good. For mine is eugene.

for the meetup for the theme, wedding favors and food tasting will be at least 6 months b4 your actual wedding.

the invite cards, u will hv to go to the penisular plaza to choose your designs.
 
i think evageline is very new to M hotel and all wedding couple to really proper to give comment on her service...

in nov i will meet up with her for actual day discussion..maybe till i have more comments to share

do you all find the banquet suite too bright during the banquet itself (for exmaple during march in). Because of the greenish color, somehow it looks kind of bright (as compared to other hotels when i see in the pics). any advice?

how is the food? any feedback?

for tables of 25, is it better to take the banquet suite instead of anson? (anson is cheaper though)
 
Hi w3n, i do agree that the Banquet suite looks bright!! i did request my coordinator in M hotel to adjust it to a darker lighting.. But even when adjust to a dark tone, the pictures turn out to be bright too.. i do not kw why... !!

Personally, i would prefer a darker lighting .. look more grand.. I took the banquet suite, im attracted to the high ceiling, and the menu, which includes abalone and i can customize the dishes, so it justified the higher price for the Banquet Suite. And for the 25 table, i believe both Banquet suite or anson room will be gd, and also depends on your budget.

Wonder if M hotel can change the Green lighting to Orange/yellow or white...
 
yah i think change the color would be nicer too. dimmer is nicer cause is more cosy. unless is a lunch banquet then i think brigher better haha...
 
Hi, Yes, the Banquet Suite can take 32 table Max, 25 table min. BTW, their wedding just over, not too long ago.. in Oct '09.
 
ya,, ard, 4 guest may not view the stage, if we are talking about 30 - 32 tables.
but Banquet Suite itself can take up to 32 table, it has High ceiling, and its very cosy, the whole of Level 10 will be yours alone, and the there's a VIP room attach near to the Ballroom, you can do your, changing for the second march in there, dont need to rush back to the hotel room. My advise, go M hotel to have a look at the Level 10 banquet suite.. have a feel of the ballroom.

If you have more than 30 tables,Mayb you can try Merchant Court, Sharaton or Intercontinental.

initally i was looking at Merchant Court.. but their minimum requirment is 35tables... which i cant meet, as i only have 25table on hand. As i prefer my wedding to be held in a ballroom, not function room.. so i zoom down to M hotel, which can provide me a Ballroom with high ceiling and bigger stage, and 25table minimum. Personally i have attend wedding in M hotel, the food is so much better..as compare to the wedding i attended in Marriot. And i heard that, in M hotel, if there's wedding held in both the Anson Room and Banquet Suite on the same Nite, the Chief Chef will cook for the Banquet Suite, and the normal chef will cook for Anson Room. So at least i can rest assured about the food.
 
We booked the Anson Room and wedding is coming. Very surprised to hear that a normal chef is cooking for Anson Room, the price difference between Anson and Banquet is $150 per table. After topping and changing dishes, I think ours might even cost more than Banquet. Another couple took the Banquet and thus,we took the Anson(Later in this forum, that couple let the Banquet Room go)

More likely, I think the Chief Chef will direct the normal chefs to cook instead. Coz there were a few chiefs around when we attend the food tastings.

I also booked Anson room for my wedding next year. Yea.. i'm as surprised as u are hearing that normal chef is cooking for Anson room. That's kinda not v far if let say the changing of dishes added up costs more than what other couples booked Banquet Suite.
 
I think that we shouldnt worry too much on the quality of the foods. As no matter is the chief chef or the normal chef who is doing the cooking, there must be a standard set by the chief chef himself in order not to bring down the hotel and his own name.

Evangeline I've met her before when discussing about the banquet package. She's soft-spoken and nice lah... friendly easy to talk to. Tmrw i'm heading down to sign the contract.

wow! evangeline is willing to keep the date booked for you for next yr 4 dec? that is so good. for my coordinator is eugene. before the wedding show, my htb n me went down to take a look at the hotel and block the date, he wants us to pay the deposit to secure our date without signing the contract. is it suppose to be that way?
 
Hi there... I had read the past threads since this year and so glad to learn so much about M Hotel which is top in my list!
However, my AD would be end Nov 2011. Prices are not out yet and I supposed there is no way I can secure my booking yet.. And I missed the wedding show 2 months back! Arghh!!!
