Hi All

I am a new user in this forum. But I find that the discussion is very useful in planning for my banquet venue to be held in Dec 09.

In it, some of you mention that you manage to bargain for free flow of wine and 20L complimentary of beers.
I like to know how did you all ask for it.

This is because I am planning to hold my dinner at M Hotel during December 2008.
They only allow me to choose either free flow of beer or 1 house wine per confirm table.
That why I need your advice on how you manage to get both or more perk. If possible,
could you send me some of the photo of the layout of the ballroom.

Thank in advance to anyone who may give me some information on it.

Hi Excite,

When I signed up during the road show in Mar 2007, the package c/w free flow of beer and 1 bottle of wine free per confirm table. As all my guest will be drinking wine, I decided to change it to free flow of wine and request for 20L complimentary of beers.

What are the perks they offered to you?
Also, what's the name of the staff whom you signed up with?
I went there on Fri evening and the guy who attended to me was Dennis. I tried asking for free flow of wine but he said not possible. I then tried asking for free flow of beer + 1 bottle of wine per table also nope.
He mentioned that he is actually from the Operations dept so I was wondering if I should speak to someone (eg. Simon, Colette) who are more experienced and maybe able to give more perks?

The perks are the same as the Banquet Suite package as shown on the web site $898 per table.
Manage to get free flow of beer plus a few bottle of wine****
I also get a discount of $88 per table.
The person that I get in touch with is Simon (think he is from the sale dapartment)

Hi all, i had signed up at earlier roadshow in Nov, but perks were the usual ones only. i haven't signed the contract yet, though i have already placed deposit to book the date.

Any idea if i could bargain for the free flow beer plus 1 bottle wine per table when i go down to sign the contract? also is there any rush to sign contract? cos they haven't called me to chase me to sign since Nov 07. Please advice thanks.

Have u all done food tasting yet? Or been to any wedding dinner? Is the food good?
I also thinking of doing my AD at M hotel..in fact, im gg down to see her today, hehehe..my hubby worried cos we have not been to any dinner there and don't have any feedback on the food... Anyone can share?

Hi MBD,

Did you go to BOWS 2008 wedding show? They did list down the prices even up to Dec 09. Im doing my AD at M Hotel in Oct 09 and has already discussed with Colette (the wedding coordinator) about the package offered. =)

Hi JJ,

I suggest that you call the coordinator that you liaise with. That's what i did last year. Normally it should take them only about 2 weeks to come up with the actual contract. But they could be super busy now as another wedding show has just finished.

though my AD in M Hotel was on 8 Dec 07 (last yr), thought I come back & post some pics up to share with u guys/gals.

in any case, we were glad we had our wedding dinner at M Hotel Banquet Suite.

hi keona,

i dunno if the menu has changed. mine was the function toom menu, even though I had my wedding in Banquet Suite.

the only thing i changed was the fish...i used garoupa. dessert was the red bean lotus paste, if i can remember correctly.

Hi, Have anyone who who book the function change the fish item in the menu to Groupa or soon hock? Hw much is the top up?

Anyone went to the wedding show on 2 March? Quite interested in M hotel as they have a new theme "Victorian". Very impressed with the deco. Just one concern of their service and banquet experience. Any comments?

oh no, i haven't checked this page for so long, and i just realised that i also belong to the M hotel category bride having wedding in 2008 but was forced to choose free beer OR 1 bottle free wine.

now i already signed the package for free beer. do u think i can go back and bargain for free wine??? please help girls!

also, i just come across this service - i am inviting at least 25 tables - anyone heard of digital wedding reception??

I don't think that the new theme is victorian. I think you have mistaken the victorian theme with another hotel.

I don't think you can go back and bargain since you have already signed the contract.
Think you need to trade in something else in exchange for the free wine. eg like take away 1
nite free stay in the bridal suite for the wine.

Just signed up with M hotel for my AD in 2008.. Taking the 2nd Mar roadshow package as we found the perks quite complete

Personally I've been to my friend's wedding at the banquet suite in 2006.. The ballroom and deco was pretty nice, and don't have bad impression of the food. The couple was very satisfied with the banquet night as well.. Coupled with the good feedbacks in this thread, really feeling confident now

May I know which date have you booked for your AD?
My friend could not book for most of the weekend AD for 2008 as the date are fully booked.

I've booked Oct 26, which is a Sunday. That's my 2nd choice date, since most Sat are booked.

Btw, any folks have tried taking out Abalone from the banquet suite dinner menu? Can share what's the reduced table price?
