Apart from CCs, Khalsa, Futsing Building, Foochow building,Legends @ Fort canning will be able to handle trad ceremony.
Hotels dun allow coz of safety issue.
Orchid country club- not too sure.u can call up & ask
Safra yishun- cannot hold it in ballroom but outside can & there's space for only 150 pple. The rest must watch thru some projection TV inside the ballroom. (Not a gd idea, I feel)
My sis did this research coz she too wanted to do it elsewhere instead of temple.

HIPV is ok with the trad ceremony, but looks like Sep-Dec 08 weekends are fully booked. I am hoping that a Friday evening is still available for me....

Yeah they sent me some proposals. not bad la. about $60 per person, depending on whether you want the vegetarian or non-veg menu. But let me ask you guys, is it relatively easy to change from the traditional costume to the reception outfit? Wouldn't the bride, a.k.a me, be in a mess after the kumkum smeared on my forehead, etc etc? And the hairdo? How is the MUA supposed to change the hairstyle so quickly huh? i am really starting to wonder whether i should even change into the reception outfit at all, cos by the time the wedding ends proper, will there be even time for people to see me in the reception outfit? Sigh, confused!! And when will i play my video montage? after the thaali-tying? or during the dinner, when people will be busy coming up on stage to do the formalities?

Happy New Year to all of u. Dinner(ROM) went very well. Shanti(MUA) did a perfect job. Oriental was awesome... always there to help out. Edmund(PG) was facinating. DJ(Boom Box) & MC(Stage 4) really ran the show well tht ppl commented 'Very well planned wedding (like real) and time flew without realising'. It was full hse till 1am. It was a really a wonderful day. Hotel coordinator helped to deco car (nice of him to help). MC & DJ patched up flawlessly our unfinished agenda. PG called on a 2nd PG (FOC) to shoot as he found makeup and gowns were facinating. I was really a pincess. My dinner is one tht I'll never want to rewind incase it'll be ruined the next time round. Thanks to tis forum that I had the perfect team for my dinner.
Now starting of with my traditional wedding preparations.
Girls, do feel free to ask for help. We married brides are always around to help. I'm also looking forward to receive ideas for my traditional wedding.

wooo...same here...mine is on Jan 20th...tick tick tick...getting panicky already....tekka and tekka for me too...sigh getting tiring and almost breakdown yesterday...the stress was really too much esp with my new house and wedding all at the same time...pheww...

I infact decided to do away with the buying of living room furnitures to lessen my hassle . Shall slowly pick my stuff .
I even got stressed in choosing garlands ! Too many to choose from .Dint know what i wanted. Went back home without choosing.. and came back the next day ,only my elders grumbled .. heheh. Anyway done with shopping of all the sarees.
Mani and Pedi are a form of relaxants .. so just enjoy them !!
Btw, anyone knows how much ananda bhavan rest. charges for a pax of 50 ? thinking of ordering from them for my bangle ceremony .

Angelic gal - Yes i did hire someone for just makeup . I engaged a normal saloon lady @ my place to do a simple hairdo . Tying of saree .. relative will help out . Quite reasonable this way i guess.
Its really up to you if you want to hire anyone . I thought everyone is gonna look @ me .. so i better look good hehehhh .. for the sake of cams @ least .

I am lost with myself . Anyway, just got back my Pre wedding photography album 2 days back . Glad i am done with it but then again all those hassles was worthwhile end of the day .
Angelic gal - The kondai maalai is some hair deco essential i guess . I was told to order that as well . Re: Iron , really no idea !! but i think normally wedding sarees are of good quality ? No need ?
