Piscecturq: Thanks dear for sharing
Since you shared, let me share my journey with you
I signed a package with Serangoon Garden Country Club (SGCC), my wedding date is on 19 Oct 2013. I immediately had a liking towards it, because there was no pillars blocking the guests view. The chandeliers were also grand and the atmosphere felt cosy. They also had many screen and projectors around. Secondly, the guy Balan whom we spoke to was kind and accommodating. I wouldn't say I am a bridezilla but he managed to assure me on several occasions. To allay my anxiety, he invited us down to view the set up of an Indian wedding on 30th Nov 2012.
Please note that this package involves Sountracx as the main decor person and a choice of 4 caterers (*we have to chose one after food tasting).
My observations of the set-up on that day by the decor company:
- I loved the Mandap set-up (the package that we signed allowed us a choice of 4 different themes).
- There was no center piece for all tables (I guess maybe the couple didn't want any).
- There was only an artificial flower center piece for the VIP tables.
- I think the decorations along the stairway leading to the venue can be severely improved. (The cloth that was used to draped the stairways was not ironed and the crease lines were obviously visible to the naked eye. I also had some other issues with it but I guess I attribute my nitpicking of that day to PMS.
- I did not see any nice showpieces along the aisle where the bride and groom will walk thru.
But I guess at the end of the day, you pay for what you get. I think what I saw was pretty basic and I would definitely need to top-up $$ if I would like it to be grandly decorated (Balan also told us that we would need to top-up extra cash if we would prefer a more extravagant decor theme).
Oh btw, just so you know, my traditional ceremony will be held there. They allow for a small fire pot in the venue.
PS: Sorry for the long story
