Hey guys, u can check out kad-kadkahwin.com -> the website is pretty good, a friend took the hardcover card and printed the pic of his wife & him....its realli pretty

For those who need traditional invites, u can try Parvathie Printer located in 32A Jln Segget Johor - 121 Jalan Trus. The mobile number is 012-7405536 / Sing no = 93512627. The wedding card ranges from Rm1.80 or less.

I saw some impressive Indian (or Punjabi?) wedding photos here from my PG's portfolio - www.10eyesgallery.com

Look for Sze Ping, a friendly guy who had done a few Indian weddings in a creative way (from a non-Indian PoV).

P/S: I don't earn any commissions though, just to share what I've seen ^^

HeY Angel, nah sarah isnt from stylemart, only shanti is...can view sarah's work at www.facesbysarah.com...shanti is equally gd. So both can give u what u want

Hi Pam, thanks much for the info on wedding cards....geez, thats really helpful. Will get ma parents to check em out..

n as for venue...one of ma sindhi gf's got her ROM done at Spans Jom...Her guest list was aron 200++....just throwin in sum ideas...

Jan, thats a neat portfolio..thanks for sharing

Hellllooooo all...i understand that most of you are fretting over which MUA to choose...a few recomendations have been made however i would like to stress that you shd really ensure that during the trial the MUA u haf chosen will show u how ure make up will be done on the exact day. I know that Bubbly apparently focuses on that, and i have seen her work so far it is pretty good.
Shereen (Saheli) - She is good but you have to ensure that she is the one who does ure make up on ure big day. I have to admit that there was once i saw her making a cousin of mine look alot darker on her reception day..
Sarah - If u are gna wear smthing modern ie a dress etc, then go for her. I feel that her make up looks better if ure not in traditional clothes. I may be wrong but i am judging based on work i have seen
Sung - She is also pretty good, and i have seen her put on make up for ppl wearing traditional wear but never for a wedding function (bride) etc. But she liek Sarah is pretty good for modern make up.
Hope this helps.

Yes YES! i am fret about MUA..

Wonder if i should pay $1800 (Facebistro) for make up artist service to get the best in singapore!

Anyone know where can i get coat rental for dad and uncle? i am doing ala cart so will not be taking from bridal studio..

Hi Jun > for coat rental I think u can try some of the bridal houses in Tanjong Pagar.

How's everybody's progress? Trying to settle decor by next week. Must start sourcing for florists and stuff.... anyone ordering pretty wedding cakes for your reception?

Sanity, i did try sarah much earlier but she isn't available on my big day
sad.gif

Btw, any contact no for shanti?

I'm looking for modern outfit makeup as I dun intend to wear traditional for my event. Sometimes those MUA who are gd with traditional wear tend to over do modern outfit makeup.

Pam, any contact no for Sung? Any website available for me to view her work?

Hi Angel,

Ur worry is justified as MUAs have the tendency to overdo when it comes to modern outfit.
sung doesnt have a website but i have pasted her fb url link below :
http://www.facebook.com/#!/sungstarsdollymakeup
u can send her a fb msg and see how tings go

Hi Jessica

Hmm.. i check with a bridal studio, rental cost about $120 each! might as well i buy from G2000!

I was only expect to pay like $50..

Looking around if there is any store allow me to rent for $50!

As i need like 4 coat.. Wanna my uncle and dad to look smart..

This Sat going to Amanda Lee and Silhoutte the Atelier.

Jessica, i love Bridal Veil gown but i am not sure about the evening gown.. look too plain for evening gown.. not sure if she can put some indian touch on it..

@ Jun - Hey if you frequently go down to JB u may find the coats cheaper there. My bro in law actually bought his ROM suit for RM300...so i tink u may be able to get some decent looking coats cheaper..Alternatively if you can afford to wait, the year end sales will be a good time to snag good buys for coats etc
happy.gif

I realli love gowns too, but even the rental seems to be so ex and unfortunately i am not on the small side rather m L sized so am unable to get some good deals online as well.

PAM: i am going for MTM.. OTR may not suit my body shape.. I am size 10 or 12.. but my arm is flabby..

U can go for PetiteMains for MTM gown.. they give reasonable price..

Hi Sindhu >> I highly recommend pinegarden.. they have really lovely cakes. u can buy their slices to sample the flavors.. U can also give them a picture of a design u want from the net, and they'd be happy to custom make it for you.

Jun >> there's this place called s*letar br*adway. Their gowns are quite reasonably priced from 350. I think they have coats but not too sure. Maybe u can try asking them. And yes BV is very simple. dont think they do fancy stuff. Stylemart does gowns too. My friend got hers from there and it was stunning! But super ex man. She made like SGD1800

Hi Jun, thanks for the suggestion for the gown, even i hover from a size 10-12...if ure looking for gowns with an indian touch, stylemart sure has em but its gona be pretty expensive.

Have you been able to settle on ure outfit yet?

Pam: what does hover means? I suggest get MTM so it will look good on you.. MTM mean they design for your body and talior made it. It is not those bridal shop just keep on trying different type of gown which does not compliment your body. What you need is a gown that make you look slim. Cover the fat and flaunt your asset. Do you get what i mean?

I will arrange another session with Bridal Veil and meet the designer to discuss on the indian touch.. gonna give her some picture.. Simple and nice is fine.. just want to make it have the indian culture on the gown..

Jess: oh ok.. that bridal.. neeed to look out then..

Hey angel...oh geez thats a bummer that sarah aint free on ya big day.....shanti's really good too. Couple of ma frens engaged her...do go for a trial n see if ya like her work, she's super friendly.. shanti's no is 96697934....
happy.gif
hope this helps.

Hope the rest of you girls have a good weekend and have fun with the wedding preps.

sad.gif
so far have only got the VG,PG, MUA sorted. FEB is alrdy here...As long as the food, decor n DJ is fixed, i can take a breather....my parents n the inlaws r so cool and r doin things at a pace that gives me panic attack every night. sighs....

I really hope that u'd find the gown soon
happy.gif
Dont worry abt the wedding favors so much, as soon as u get the decor, gown, food outta the way, then u can concentrate on that...btw who r u lookin at for the decor, for the temple? share with me will ya...
happy.gif

Hi Sanity, I am trying to decide between a few vendors. Pandora, Sountracx, Luxe and KM. KM being the most affordable and most responsive.

Hi Jun, sounds like u have found your gown... tell us more =)

yeah..

The designer sketch on the spot..

My skin suit ivory white gown..

and the designer also did a evening gown with indian touch on it..

happy.gif
Now i got another problem.. i am muslim.. not sure till what extend i need to cover uP!

Hi Jun :

Hi sanity,

My big day's only gna happen sometime next year la
happy.gif
Whens urez?

Pam: close to $6K!

But they uses premium make up artist..

Oh.. is mona good? Saheli quote me $100 - $350 for hands or leg! so ex!

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG why are gowns sooooooo expensiveeeeeeeee??? Do upload a pic when the gown is ready im sure its lovely
happy.gif

Mona is quite good, her designs are rather intricate so its ideal for marriage. Honestly the price range for henna is within the range of $100-$350...beauty comes with a hefty price ;)

Pam: $150 ++ is ok for both leg and hands.. but not either.. hahaa..

Yes.. very expensive.. it is not ready.. Need to discuss on the design further but i know what i want on my gown..
happy.gif
Not sure how to upload te pic.. hahaa..

Anyone tried Ginder for saree? My friend got lenga for $600++ and it was lovely..

Kani: When is your wedding?

Jun >> WOW!!! 6K!!! But we get married only once.... So it's totally worth it! =) I went to Jinders... The saree material I saw was 2000+... They use it to stitch the Bridal lengha .. Stitching cost was another 800+... Very pretty designs tho...

How many outfits are you girls having?

Jessica: It is Wedding gown and Evening Gown and Make Up and Flower..

Wow.. soo ex ah Jinders.. my friend had fushia lengha.. look really nice.. inspired me to wear.. hahaha.. her is only $600+

If i need to make bolero, they will charge me for another $600!!! as it is gonna be french lace..

Planning to have 2 only but worried about my Nikah with white gown.. tube dress till neck is not cover.. not sure if it is ok..

Hello Kani, yay! im happy for you that u've booked d venue
happy.gif
gd on u gurl! Now that exams r ova, can finally get cracking on the wedding planning eh?

Hola jess, i looked at pandora's deco (album)...m not very convinced...hmmm also heard that they r more on the pricey side....but their wedding car n deco is quite neat...Sindhu did mention in one of her post that KM's deco is nice...its also gd know that they charge reasonably...

Hey there pam, its a smart move to start planning ahead
happy.gif
next yr u'll have less headache and stress. My wedding is in july...so what kinda wedding r u plannin on? any ideas yet...
happy.gif

Jun congrats on finding ur wedding gown..ivory white huh....oooo sounds really pretty...if ur guests r open minded pple then, flaunt it i say!
happy.gif
besides its ur day, its all abt u and what u want...
happy.gif

Hey girls, where can i find a nice lengha other than stylemart? sheetal? is it worth checkin out?..

Sanity >> yes pandora is definately WAY more ex than KM... Oh there's this place called Minora Centre in Sgoon. They have lots of lenghas and u can tailor your own blouse. Skirt is readymade..

Jun > oopsie, I didnt think that the solemnisers would be so strict. Well in that case have a quick word or chat with him before hand to find out if he is particular abt ur dressing

Jess > do they have the couture/fish cut sorta lenghas you were looking for? R u still planning on goin to india sumtime to get ur lengha? I think i'll scout singapore first. If i cant find nuthin, then i'll make a trip to india with my folks.

Sanity, u can try indian saree emporium. They hv grand lengha suits ard $300+ range. Ready nade skirt and shawl. They provide material for u to design ur own blouse.

Angel..that is nice.. cool stuff..

where is Indian saree emporium?

Sanity: yeah man.. i tried to call one of them.. he said.. the best is put on head scarf.. i got lost of words! HAHAHAHAA

Hi sanity, if memory serves me right, I think they had a few.. But I could be wrong cos I spent only 5 mins there like 4 months ago.
Yup going to India.. But most probably chennai. Dont know if they carry the modern/couture lenghas..

Sanity, Im not getting any traditional outfit. Ive decided on a wedding gown n an evening gown for reception.

Jun, Indian saree emporium is along stylemart row. If i remember clearly, its nearer to the 7-11.

Jun >> HEAD SCARF! ok now im lost for words too...laughs.....do u have to engage a muslim solemniser?..is it a must?

Jess >> Fret not jess, u'll be spoilt for choices in chennai....They do have up todate fashion choices(lenghas n sarees that is...)

Angel >> Thats nice....presume u must be hunting for the gowns now
happy.gif

Hello ladies, Wow.. I cant believe that I have been missing out so much on this thread! Hv been avidly checking up on most threads...just chanced upon this now. Hve been chatting and sharing bridal package infor with non-indian btbs all along...totally thrilled to have come across this nw!!

A short intro for u lovely ladies...
My ROM + Engagement Cere will be a joint event. Will be this July. Our trad will be a temple wedding..looking at Tank Rd temple..early 2012. Hopefully, dates will be avail soon.

For the ROM, so far venue has been booked. The venue handles the floral decor & caterer.
I know that I'm kinda late...thus actively looking for MUA, PG, VG, favours, and the rest of the works for ROM.
Just signed up a pre-wedding PS package with Whitelink. Got a gd deal so just grabbed it. The shoot will be this Apr. Gotta lose weight by then! ;p
So gals, pls do include me in ur exciting discussion and feel free to throw in all ur suggestions. Looking forward to hear it all. Thanks ladies!
happy.gif

Also, looking for an awesome MUA to do the works for my future SIL. Her wedding recept will be on 27 Feb and I am yet to cfm a MUA. The btb is not located in Sg, hence am assisting with several arrangments on her behalf. So far, i have enquired with Sung & Sarah...both the lovely MUA are not avail on that day. Tried contacting Saheli, but no response despite several msges. :/
Any fantastic MUA to recommend for reception gals? The btb will only be wearing 2 gowns...so no need trad looks. Anyone has Bubbly's contact?Upon reading the above, a keen to check out Bubbly, Mala from SPa Alangkara..any numbers, pls?

This is so rush..right aft this, I must get bac in track to my ROm prep...so exciting!
