My friend suggested that I place a red carpet at the entrance to welcome the guests. Will be nice as it blends in with the traditional decor of the restaurant. still trying to find. If in the end unable to get it, we will forget abt it.
I also have the intention to decorate the railings at the entrance with some flowers. Anyone can share ideas with me?

Hi Stefanie, i'm interested to hold my wedding at Grand Shanghai, but i'm worried the corkage will cost quite alot if its not waived. You mentioned before that it can get waived.... Can you please teach me how to get it waived ?? 
My future hubby and I went to talk to Sally but she refuses to waive it so far. think we are bad at negotiating...Thanks alot !

I met up with Sally last Sat and was told that GS will not waive any corkage charge in future but luckily I booked mine last year hence i got mine waived. However, Sally encouraged us to get the wine fr GS which cost $22++ (approx $26 after tax). I would like to look ard to get cheaper ones.
U can try talk to her again but it also depends on the no. of tables (mine is more than 250 pax). Try to use this as a bargaining tool. Btw, get her to pen down whatever she agreed. For my case, she also wanted to charge me corkage but luckily she had written "waived off" on the contract. Phew!

Hi Karen,
you can check with sally when there is wedding banquet so u can drop by to take a look at their decor...mmm..if I am not wrong, there is one on 27 May.
Btw, if U would like to add more roses or change of decor, u may need to pay extra. It would be better to check with Sally.

my wedding was last nov. I guess like wat Evon said, their price increase and no more corkage waiver.
How's the flower arrangment these days? last yr, we had a small flower arrangement on each table, mixture of red,purple,peach roses.

the new decor is similar to the previous one.. small pot of roses on all tables but instead of mixture of colours, the roses are in yam colour. Besides that, the centre piece for the VIP tables looks slightly different. Overall, I would say it looks more uniform as the roses are in one colour.

my AD is actually less than 3 months..collected the cards from Sally and have been to T dragons for printing of invites..lots to do coz doing reno as well. Busy Busy..sigh.. photoshoot in 2 weeks time. Well, wedding preps is lots of fun pretty enjoyable mmm... stress at times though. How abt yours? when is your AD?

I saw from somebody's posted photo link here, that the floral arrangement seems to be a simple pot of yellow, pink and fuchsia roses, but I think yellow's not exactly a good color to use for wedding (yellow roses signify breakup i think.. ) but that's a nice combination. ..

I think their cards.. urm, not too impressive. And i like to personalize mine, because it's a full day event of church and dinner, so I chose to make my own cards. As for the decor.. hmm.. I was also thinking that it's quite pathetic, the small pot of roses, so for that, I'm definitely going to do some changes.

I have taken my PS. Went to GS for the PS. I would suggest that your photographer brings along additional lightnings, just in case needed. Mine didn't and thus a lot of shots have to be done repeatedly as the image was blurred even with a slightest movement.
I will be gg to T dragon soon to print the invite cards and also will be starting to craft my guest list. *most headache thing to do*
Will be having the food tasting in July, the same day as my ROM. Decor wise I would not make too much changes. But would like to decorate the railings outside the entrance to make it look nicer.

actually with the live band & singer, no need for any other programes. We got sabo by frens and went up to "entertain" the guests for about 20mins!

some tables will definetely be blocked by the pillars so we had frens tables there. Usually they will understand and wont be too bothered by it. I opt for only 1 VIP table. I guess it depends on how many VIP tables you need. Some pple have 1 for girl side and 1 for boy side.

Booked my banquet at GS because we loved the food and unique decor. Worked with Sally and she was very good at our first 2 meetings. Placed deposit last year.
Then recently out of the blue, I got a call from GS asking whether I still want my tentative booking! I was so shocked! I told the person I'd already confirmed my booking and placed 2K deposit then she asked 'Who you confirm with? Sally or Shirley?'
Now I'm getting worried because they seem so unorganised. Can't even keep track of their reservations.
Anyone had such an experience before?
