i have a wedding with GH in sept this year and i got the magnolia/vanda room with pillars. my coordinator actually allowed me to use 2 LCD projectors FOC during the wedding. the location of the LCD projection is up to us to decide. so brides who are interested in magonlia/vanda, do try to get the LCD projections for free.
there are several companies doing the live sms thingy. just go to google and do a search. make sure you get one that can support chinese sms so that the elderly can join in the fun.
Anyone planning to hold their banquet in magnolia/vanda rooms?? Understand that there are pillars. I see from the floorplan that the pillars are all at the side. Is that true?? How many tables are affected by the pillars??
Hi xinyi, im having my wedding in magnolia/vanda rooms. there are pillars and from the floor plan that i have, they are 2 in the middle of the room. how many tables are you planning to have? if you are inviting 25-27 tables, approximately 2-4 tables will be blocked...but then again, there projection screens placed on each side of the stage. hope this info helps.
If you dun mind me asking, how many confirmed tables do you have, weekday or weekend, so nice of your coordinator to let you use the projectors FOC. Maybe I should look for the same coordinator, care to share who? Thanks.
Hi,i'll be having my wedding dinner in Nov at magnolia/vanda room. Is there anyone out there having black and gold or just gold theme alone as your wedding dinner theme at magnolia/vanda ballroom? Does anyone have the floorplan for magnolia/vanda room? We're inviting 35-40 tables. My coordinator is Mandy Wan. She is a very experience and approachable lady.
They have gold, black, red, french vanilla theme. I went down to view the black theme and found that is very classic, elegant look. They used dark red roses for their centrepiece and scatter some petal on the guest tables.

Thanks for the information, you have been a great help! Will try to ask for Mandy then.
By the way, which ballroom have you booked? I am thinking of the Sir Stamford.
ive booked the Magnolia/Vanda room. Sir Stamford was my first choice but it couldnt accomodate my capacity. Grand ballroom is too big. Hence, had to go for magnolia
hi bbq...but my wedding falls on the week where singapore is holding some international conference...hotel rms rate all went up by 2-3times...try asking but was not granted...
btw...there are wishes right? did u get the free 1 nite stay?
as for the dishes, can we come back to eat if we did not open all our confirm tables?
I'm currently looking for a hotel to host my wedding? I love the Magnolia / Vanda Room. Any advice?
Currently looking at GH, Shang, RC and Four Seasons. And I hear that FS is holding their bridal show this month. Am going to attend that to see what perks they've got ..
there are no pillars in SSR but there 2 in magnolia...however, my coordinator was very kind to provide me with 2 LCD screens on both sides of the stage...so i guess this to a certain extend, compensated for the pillars...
as ive mentioned..there are 2 pillars in the magnolia/vanda room..this room is good because it allows a min of 25 and can go up to 35...on the other hand, the grand ballroom requires min of 40 and the SSR allows only max 28 and 28 will be squeezy ... if you dont mind the pillars, magnolia is good for its flexible capacity
If i am not wrong, they don't allow tables not opened on AD to be consumed on other days. So you either spread out your guest (say 7 to 8 per table) to fill up all tables or they will pack the food for those tables for you to bring back.
Yes, Hyatt has a gold theme. For VIP tables is covers with white table linen and overlay with gold table linen. VIP seats cover with white/ivory and tied with a gold ribbon. As for the guest table is white/ivory table linen with chairs tied with gold ribbon.
My wedding planner is Ms Mandy Wan. I would recommend Mandy to you. She is a very nice, experience, approachable lady and she can give you some advise if you need help.
Noticed that we are both using the same Magnolia/Vanda room for our wedding banquet. My wedding is in early Nov. What about you? By the way, have you selected your theme yet? I'm not sure wheather to use Black or Gold Theme for the room setting. But for me and my hubby love the black theme as it look classy and elegant. From the previous forum, i can see many couples choosing Black theme than any other themes.
You mean for the gold theme, each and every guest chairs will be tied with gold ribbon? Cos from what I know if we choose the black theme, the chair covers will be black with no other ribons tied to it.
You happen to have any pictures of the gold theme?
Thanks for sharing the pictures, really din know about this as what I saw was completely white or black chair covers for guest tables and only the VIP tables have the ribbons.
I am also in the midst of deciding which theme to select, likely the black (before I found out abt the black and gold) but now I can also consider the black and gold.
My hubby and i also like the black theme very much coz it look classy and elegant. I found that many couples in this forum choose either black or gold and black theme for their ballroom setting too. I have see a theme with black and red theme too. VIP tables with black table linen overlay with red table linen with seats cover tied with red ribbon. And for all the guest table linen will be black with seats cover tied with red ribbon.
