Hi muffins_rene! welcome to the club!! haa. yeah there are quite alot of hotels which are already booked for jan 2013, and some hotels havent released their pricing for jan2013. so leaves us very much sandwiched!! I paid 3k for deposit, probably cuz my venue is much smaller!

btw.. curly_ger, and MuffinS_rene, my AD is 19 jan 2013. anyone same date as me?

i just received a draft contract from GCW, and will be going thru it before signing the formal contract. wondering if can raise our requests to the wedding coordinator for more perks?? hope can lei.. extend stay and extra helper room... and not sure what other things can we ask for extra?

i had no idea mine was a popular date!! so now must book other stuff quickly also. OMG, KANJIONG!!!

@curlyger - i nego before the contract was signed. so not that bad la. just that cant get extra bridal suite and helper room. i feel that they are quite inflexible and the price aint that cheap also... ;(

can share what are the stuffs u are asking for?

their new package seems to have included quite a lot of stuffs but likewise, the package price has increased over $100 since last year.

they have a wedding show coming up on 25feb - will most likely sign at the show.

if possible, pls share with mi what you have?

I've just met up with Xuan Ning, my consultant, other than the standard package & feb promo additional perks, I also requested additional helper day room, a small function room for tea ceremony & increase in car park coupons, and she is ok with it.

I'm also going to sign the feb promo on coming Wedding show.

hi curlyger, im looking at about 20-22 tables, either the Riverfront or Waterfront. But have heard Waterfront taken up in March already. sad. cos waterfront ballroom will be safer for me, just in case no. of tables increased.

check with them already. the dates in march I wan all taken up. so now looking in May, but need top up $50 per table in order to enjoy the feb perks.

My wedding's this year, and I'm too concerned about the plain looking ballroom. Anyone tried topping up money to have more deco?

Hi to all Brides/Bridegrooms, my brother just had his wedding day and there are some things I'd like to let you guys take note to make your wedding day good for your guests:

1. Remember to ask them to serve cocktail on time~! Our cocktail was served 10 mins late and there were only 3 waitresses serving our 400++ guests. Even with the limited number of waitress, they did not set up a cocktail counter for guests to help themselves to drinks. As a result all of my guests were pretty "dead" before the banquet. There were also no tidbits during the cocktail

2. If you have FREE FLOW BEER in your contract, MAKE GOOD USE OF IT! I was told by my guests after that they did not even know the existence of the beer because they were not offered. Only red wine was offered. ie. they only asked our guests if they would like red wine instead of asking them if they prefer beer or red wine. I would suggest you take things into your own hands and get your master of ceremony to let your guests know of the existence of FREE FLOW BEER.

3. If you're opting for the option of apportioning the food before serving to your guests, please take note that their waiters/waitresses are not all very experienced. Some of my guests got mashed fish because it wasn't cut properly. Some waiters/waitresses took so long to apportion the chicken, my guests asked them to not apportion anymore. So LAME.

4. JUST TAKE NOTE THAT MOST IMPORTANTLY YOUR GUESTS ARE WELL FED AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF. Decor is 2nd important, it's not fantastic, but not that bad either.

Yup that's about it for now.. will get back to you guys when I get more feedback from my guests.

PS: I got xuanning and putting aside all that things about not giving more perks, she was pretty rude to my parents so i don't really like her.

Glad to hear everything goes smooth... I signed with GCW two months ago for my AD wedding lunch on 3rd November....

I actually heard their appointed florist has limited selection on e floral deco??

Dear Cindy!!! They appointed JM Floral Creation for the wedding decor, floral arrangement. Grand Copthorne only has 4/5 different theme. And yup, the flower selection is very limited (in the end we choose rose). Anyway, we were quite happy with their final floral decoration. I wish you all the best for your November wedding =)

I think the wedding show is very nicely done and me and my partner enjoyed it very much, we also signed a package with them! However, me and my partner is quite pissed with a sales manager - Nellie Sin. we approached her during the show, and she rude to my partner during the negiotation and keep on stressing if my number of tables cannot meet the grandballoom, she cannot do anything and the wedding package is fixed, cannot negiotate further.

We were very disappointed and before we left, my partner decided to try our luck and we approached another sales manager - Eddie Ooi. He is so so so patient and explained to us what should we look out for during the process of wedding planning and ask me if I want to take a look at bridal suite or other ballrooms.

Me and my partner think it worth to give a try to meet the numbers so after discussed, we decided to sign the package with him. We were very happy and lucky to have Eddie as our sales manager and we look forward to hold our wedding there.

Hi there, was at the bridal show last Sunday and I wanted the grand ballroom but can’t meet the minimum requirements though.. in the end I went with Waterfront room. Thumbs up for going shark’s fin free! My manager is Nellie, and a girlfriend had her wedding in Shangri-la last year under Nellie. i think it's the same manager! :)

I am glad tht i choose gcw 4 my wdg dnr especially my siao siao coordinator in charge. My coordinator is a new manager lynn, she is a DEAR 2 us n I fell so attached 2 her when i 1st met her :)
She nv fall to ans my ?? n she always respond 2 it very fast, not only she is very knowledgable in her work, talking 2 her is d joyous thing 2. I really can't wait 4 my wdg!!!!!!!!!

Hi all, i just signed my WD with GCW last wedding show, i was impressed the show is so good and of course of the attractive package they offer:p
I signed my package with Xavier (My frnd who intro his coordinator to me) i feel he is friendly and prompt in reply our quiries. He alw saying very "Cold Joke" and make us feel he is outgoing person. :)
i feel glad that i has choose GCW to hold my WD..Cant wait for the WD..Look forward :)

Um......over detail will also add on stress to couple, to me and my partner, she is not understanding at all and seems 'look down' on us during the discussion.
Well, up to individual I think, but me and my partner are really very lucky she is not our sales manager. Like leess18, I also can't wait to sign the contract and meet up with MY sales manager - Eddie!!!!!!

I guess it is more like how comfortable you are with your coordinator. If you feel good with her, then no issue already. :)

I managed to bargain for additional second night stay and also free food tasting, free function room as well.

I sign the wedding show package as I like my sales manager service and also the price is within the budget, bonus, at least Eddie understand me and my partner. Noobieve, maybe you go look for other sales manager like me and my partner, try your luck, honestly, if I stick to Nellie, I think no point already, unless the package is very very cheap, then maybe I will close one eye type. Leess18, your package good!!! Free this free that :)
