i think its very subjective as per individual, some may have positive exp, some may not. it really depends on the flow on the AD itself. we have confirmed our wedding next yr xmas, $1138/table. very ex but we really like the ballroom and perks is not that bad too. gd luck!

dear all, to those who have read my story, the VP of M&C group finally came back to me and we met up last evening.

He is really professional, he is very warm and sincere.. gave a listening ear, very hospitable and most importantly he is honest and transparent.

I appreciate his help on my matter and truly he display himself as a man of his position.

Am glad the hotel has him representing them.

My issue is now resolved amicably.

hey editude_ger, mine on public holiday so the menu is the weekend menu. one thing we signed up because there's compliementary table on AD itself. =)

wanna ask you gals, if the grand ball room and the waterfall ballroom is a big diff? haven't gone down to see for myself but i don't have enough ppl for the grand ball room.

hi painted nails, you are here too! I must say we have about the same tastes?? hahaha. I am mosy likely taking Galleria Ballroom in GCW with Eddie. We are having very small intimate dinner so only baout 15 tables. Was it Eddie who attended to you? He's very efficient and stayed back late to meet us on a weekday night!

went over to peek at the rooms, held many weddings on the same evening. even on a sunday.

the grand ballroom was NICE!
but i dont have enough ppl to invite...saw the 2 big pillars in the waterfront ballroom
NOT so bad but much better if without.
shall arrange to view it one day without ppl inside.

Hi all... I just had my wedding banquet on Dec 11, at the grand ballroom... I can't wait to share w all btbs, how delighted and satisfied my hubby and me, were!!
We were assigned to our banquet executive or manager - Ronald, on our day of the wedding banquet. And our banquet went very smoothly, under his guidance...
Best thing abt Ronald is.. he is very thoughful! He will try his best, not to get the couple drunk, and he is always by our side, to assist us, in case we needed any help. And when my hubby was abit tipsy, Ronald immediately prepared us warm lemon water! How thoughful of him!
The hotel also provided excellent service to us during our stay there, and we never regretted our choice, to hold our wedding banquet at GWC!
And oh yes, everybody was full of praises for the grand ballroom, as the lighted garden behind the stage, was breathtaking. The ambience, the sound system, the food... were all great!!
In all... we really enjoyed our whole wedding experience with GWC...

The food is good and unique... without a doubt. We've received many good reviews from guests who attended our wedding banquet! Although we made a few minor changes to our menu during food tasting, the kitchen chef is patient and he is very suggestive too... I suggest tat you must go for the food tasting...

There is not specific theme for GWC ballroom leh. Just a selection of the table cloth, chair covers... VIP tables and chairs etc etc. The floral decor is done by JM Florist. There are a few floral themes to choose from under JM Florist. We selected the "crystals" theme... Its one of their latest theme available... Perhaps by the time ur wedding date gets nearer, there are more themes available alr!

My fiance and I are considering to hold our wedding dinner with GCW.
Mind to share how's the experience with the hotel overall and coordinator, Xuan Ning? She seem quite new.
Also, care to share with me your wedding package and the ROM site at promenade..
GCW package seem to b lacking of alot of stuff.
We even had to pay 50% for food tasting which we dont feel
Comfortable with it..

jun&miao, my coordinator was xuanning and we were quite comfortable with her. anyway for the food tasting, you might wanna ask xuanning if there will be any promo/anniversary package.

when i sign my wedding proposal, it was under the posb/dbs cc promo, so i got the complimentary food tasting, free flow beer and waiver of one table. HTHs. =))

Hi, could I enquire, I am going to have my wedding at the GCW, and they are saying that for music, we only can bring in the original CDs, and have to pay a licence fee to play any of our own CDs. It also includes music in the montage. Anyone knows how to work around this? Thanks.

Hi Anthony,
You do not need to pay a license fee to play your original CD at your wedding dinner. However, if you want to add a song to your montage, then you need to pay the license fee. Or if you are getting a vendor to do the montage for you, they will usually include the copyright fee in your package.

Im very concerned abt the deco as JM florist doesnt seem reliable and the ballroom is very big hence deco is very impt to not let the ballroom look empty.

This JM Florist sound terrible~~~ Gosh... flowers are important part of the decorations... if they screw up or don't do a job well... the ballroom gonna look plain isn't it??

Karen: What have u heard abt JM Florist? My fren's wedding just over, its very plain looking in Grand Ballroom cos the place is too big. If u want very classy and beautiful place, u can consider topping up to get more floral decorations and get individual plating so that each table has a flower arrangement. If u are not taking individual plating, usually when the dinner starts, the small flower will be taken away. but individual plating also means the food portion also little

Hi doragal... i never really heard much.. mostly from this forum only.. i don't think it is necessary to have individual plating just bcos of the flower.. but the other parts of the ballroom is important... like u say bcos the ballroom is huge.. don't want to have it look empty also..

karen: the grand ballroom will be quite empty cos there will be only abt 8 floral stands, unless u top up and put up more decor. cos the ballroom has such high ceiling, no chandelier. dun worry too much, so many couples are under JM Florist care. the fact that recently no 1 complain mayb GCW has given JM warning so dun worry too much. when's ur wedding?

I just had my wedding on 15 Jan 2011. Like u, I was very concern and worried about the feedback of JM florist especially since seeing the feedbacks here. I even checked with my hotel manager but she assured me that they are really ok and the fact that they had complains could be due different standards and requirements. I didn't believe them, I mean, I'm sure the hotel will protect them right? What made things worst is that 1mth before my wedding was chritmas and thy were so bz to meet me, but anyway, I still managed to get an appointment.

When I saw Dolly, she is not the friendly sort that will smile smile laugh laugh. But she is confident and clearly knows het stuff well. She advised me on the themes and suggested me to go to the hotel to see the real thing. Howevr, what made me very impressed is that coz I wanted to buy a small bird cage from them to put my wedding bands, Dolly suggested that she can do a garden theme for my reception table and include the bird cage for me foc! I'm not greedy but I tot this is really nice of them. She told me that I can take the bird cage at the reception and put it on my rom table, can multiuse. Where got ppl got money dun wan to earn?

So anyway the next time we went to meet dolly, understand from the hotel that we r supposed to pay an additional $100+ for some deco since we choose the extra big table for 20. Bt dolly didn't even charge us and instead, suggested to help decorate our VIP table at no extra cost.

So all, pls dun worry. jm florist is not as bad as wat u alll tnk

GWC is definitely a good choise, in fact my friend even want to book it after attending my wedding..
