Four Seasons Hotel

Hi everyone,

I'm holding my wedding banquet (lunch) at FS too, on 11 Dec 2005.

Like to ask: how many bottles of wine did you get for 300 guests?

Thanks in advance

Hi tulipz, would suggest you email FS to ask for price. it will depend on when you are holding your AD .

they have 2 ballrooms. Main ballroon holds 25-30. Crescent ballroom holds 12-15 tables.

Hi,

I'm new here and would like to gather some advice from all of you. I read from other threads that Four Seasons has a garden landscape for solemnaization. Did anyone hold their solemnaization or wedding luncheon there before or planning to do that? If yes, is it buffet style of sit down lunch? How's the price package? Hope someone can help me on this! Thanks in advance.

Hi, Joy Joy! Your corkage charge seems to be cheaper. It's stated $25/bottle in my proposal. You nego with the cooridnator issit? Who?
Thanks.

The wedding coordinator who emailed me the wedding package is Georgette. Is she a flexible lady? Or is Eugene better? Any others coordinators at FS other than both of them?
Thanks.

i'm having my solemnisation and banquet at the four seasons but the solemnisation is at windows east...i don't remember them having an outdoor setting for solemnisations...if you want an outdoor setting, try the raffles hotel, their courtyard is great!

Hi,
how much do they charge for solemnisation in the hotel? do they serve food? Or can we just have drinks at the reception? Also, does anyone know who are the printers linked with Four Seasons? thanks

Josl, I know they dun charge for 70% of the cards. But I need cards for the remaining 30% too, right? How they charge then? Thank you.

hi astrogirl,
usu abt 70-80% of cards is needed oni, coz not all ur relatives or frens will come singlely rite..

Josl, did you hold your dinner at FS too? They wanna charge me for their chair covers. Haiz.... Do you think it's possible to ask them not to charge? $2/pc is very expensive... Also they charge $25 for corkage. Quite exp too and the prices they give for the wines etc are not cheap either.

Hi, Beautiful!

I can email you the package if you want, but I need your email addy. Up til Mar 2007 as what Georgette told me. Alternatively, you may email FS for their packages.

hi astrogal,
they have very tough nut to crack when giving freebies, either u try to go for a bridal show if u are not in a hurry or u dun hv a specific date in mind . If u do ROM there as in the windows east and have a banquet there u can try to ask for the seat chairs . But i heard the chairs without seat covers are quite nice anyway.

The current cheapest wine in FS is $32+++ if i am not wrong. Outside vendors ranges fr $12-20?,plus corkage its more expensive than the hotel wine, so getting the hotel wine will be better.

have u booked FS yet or still searching?

Hi, Josl

My ROM function will be in Jan at Carlton Hotel.

As for my wedding dinner, will only be holding it in Feb/Mar 2007. Currently, I'm still waiting to get my keys for my flat, so quite free now. Hence I'm making use of my present free time to ask for proposals from hotels and doing site inspections lor. Like the ambience of Four Seasons very much, cosy as well, just dun like the short aisle.

Does FS do bridal shows? How would I know when & where will bridal shows be held?

Thank you.

hi astrogirl,
oh i see, so which other hotels have u also have in mind?

FS bridal shows are not advertised openly,if u do enquire during the time of bridal shows, they may invite u to go, but of coz there is a fee loh, its held at FS ballroom .

Schnauzie, Georgette told me that the prices stated in my proposal are valid til end 2007.

I'll send you the proposal she emailed me in a while.

ST, FS packages for solemnisation at windows east is approx 50-60+++ per pax (min 30), depending on menu. Includes basic flora decor and buffet reception after the solemnisation.

Do take a look at the windows east room. Pretty nice place.

As for seat covers, yes, they do charge, you can try asking them to waive the charges... it's really based on their discretion.

dear all
i've booked the window east for my solemnisation next Jun and the ballroom for my wedding banquet (lunch) for 31 Dec 06

really looking forward to the big day! =)

must say i'm very impressed with FS' service. thumbs up!

Hi gals,

Just to update that my wedding end Oct 05 at Four Seasons went very smoothly. Left for my honeymoon soon after my AD, so had no chance to update here after that.

Many of my guests enjoyed the wedding dinner, including my overseas guests as well. The service was great, the layout and decor were gorgeous and ambience was really wonderful!! Both my husband and I continue to be impressed by the impeccable service provided by Mr Ho and also the banquet team. They were always on hand, whenever you need them, to advise you exactly when and what to do.

We were glad for the 2 nights hotel stay after the AD and being so near to town, because we managed to take some time out, relax, walk to the bank (to deposit the ang pows), watch a late night movie at Lido, etc.

For us, we didnt look at any other hotel, other than Four Seasons, and we were glad that everything turned out beautifully and that our guests enjoyed themselves very much.

For everyone having their wedding at Four Seasons, i am sure that everything will turn out beautifully as well!

Btw, Aleixis, did you manage to get them to waive the chair covers & reduce the corkage charge for wines & liquors?

Aleixis, how is the schedule like when you & ur hubby reach the hotel before the dinner? how many rehearsals for u both? Did u both go thru' the march-ins rehearsals as well? btw, who's Mr Ho?

Georgette told me that I need to pay $350+++ if i wanna rent the projector from the hotel. Tat's really expensive! Does anyone know where can I get cheaper rental rate? I would like to source for the projector on my own, but no frens of mine own one. so i need to rent from external source.... can help pls? Thanks!!!

Georgette told me if wan use dry ice must buy at $45 per 20kg. Does anyone noes where can get cheaper? Then what abt the machine to create the dry ice effect? Four Seasons provide?

Hi Astrogirl,

Thanks!

Because we prepared our own wedding favours and removed some other stuff, we were able to get them to waive the $2 laundry charge. We got the wine from them...less hassle and a few of the guests also commented that the wine was pretty good.

Mr Ho is the Asst Director of Catering. He was the one that we dealt with from beginning to the end. Very nice, friendly and professinal guy.

On the no. of hours, i think it depends on what time you reach the hotel. The normal check in time is 3 pm. If you request and if available, you shd be able to get early check in. We reached the hotel about 2 pm. We then went around the hotel to take some photos until 3:30 pm. Then, we basically relaxed, unpacked some stuff, went over the night's schedule, showered, etc.

My husband and the best man were the ones who met up with Mr Ho and the Banquet manager before the dinner at about 6 pm. They gave them the schedule, our songs, ensured everything is in place, etc. We talked about the march in before that day, but while he was down there at 6 pm, he went through the march-in, counted the steps, etc. and then talked to me when he came back up to the room.

So, technically, we didnt have any rehearsals. Actually, not sure how we could have, because they only started decorating and setting up the ballroom from 6 pm. Also, the march-in is pretty short....and so nothing much could go wrong. And, your MUA would have to arrive at about 5 pm, so that he can have about 2 hours to do your make-up and hair. For me, because i wanted to go down during the cocktails to mingle around, my MUA finished everything at about 7:15 pm.

We started our march-in and our solemnisation at about 8:05 (supposed to be 7:45 pm). Alot of the guests were pretty punctual. Whew!

It was indeed very special for us to be able to have our solmenisation before our guests. Our dinner started after 8:20 pm.

The asst banquet manager or the waitress serving at our table were always there to help or assist whenever we turned our heads. That includes telling us when we should go up for our 2nd change, calling us in the room when it was about time to come back to the ballroom, etc. They were really FANTASTIC!!

As for the food....well, i didnt really eat much that day. But, many people were very impressed with the food. I have not heard any bad comments so far. For all the dishes and at all tables, they were always individually served and my guests also commented that even though my dinner ended after 11 pm, they did not notice the servers rushing through the last few dishes because of the time.

Astrogirl, when is your wedding? Have you signed up with them yet?

hi Astrogirl,

my coordinator is Mr Ho..like wat Aleixis has mentioned, Mr Ho is great! Very professtional with excellent service. Even the hotel staff has impressed me with their service so I'm very convinced my guests will receive the same treatment, if not better, on that special day.
happy.gif

cos mine will be on new yr's eve, i'm really looking forward to the New Year Party that will be held at the hotel's party without fail every yr...hee hee

I'll only be holding my dinner in Feb/Mar 2007. My coordinator is Georgette. She seems a nice lady so far. But she doesn't want to waive the chair covers charge ley... I havent signed up with her, cos I cant confirm a good date yet.

Alexis, why is it that you pass your dinner prog, songs etc to your coordinator only on that day? Don't you need to explain to them how & when u wan them to play the songs and how you wan the programme to be like etc before the AD? Maybe 1 day before? What about the MCs & amrch-in rehearsals? I see that many hotels do let the MCs rehearse at least abt 2 times in the afternoon on AD, to let them familiarize so they won't say the wrong thing.

Hi Astrogirl,

From what i understand, Four Seasons normally do not waive the charges unless you get a good deal at some bridal fair or if like my case, i didnt take some stuff from their standard package. So, in return, they were able to waive the laundry charges for me. I think it is too early for you to negotiate for that since you dont have a date yet. You shd look at their std package and see what u dont need and see if they can waive their charges after taking out some stuff in their package.

On my dinner prog and songs, both my husband and I were very busy and we only finalised the programe and songs (burnt onto a CD) the day before. For our case, we handed them the program and CD, let them play all the songs on their player once through to see whether the quality is good (no skips, etc) and discussed with them at the same time on when we wanted the songs to be played, etc. All that was actually done when my husband and the best man met the banquet manager at 6 pm. In fact, by 645 pm, everything was already done. I had 6 songs for the First March-in, after the solmenisation/cake cutting, First Dish, 2nd march-in, champagne pouring, and the last dish (when guests were leaving). Everything was perfect.. probably because they are all so experienced. My relatives also saw the waiters/waitresses running through their march-in for the first dish song after we passed them the CD. I also thought that everything may be abit last minute, but they were sooo well coordinated...everything went wihtout a hitch! For each march-in, the banquet manager will be outside with you to open the door and will also be outside communicating with the person playing the music inside on the timing, volume, etc. Very efficient & impressive!

For the MC, my friend who was the MC (first time doing MC at a wedding) came at about 5:30 pm and ran through her lines (tested the microphone, etc). We also ran through our programe with her, also gave her those std MC speech/lines provided by the hotel (both chinese & english). In the end, she customised the speech herself and in fact, she was very cool and everything went well.

AT the end of the day, it depends on the needs or requirements of each couple. I am sure if you really want to, the hotel shd be able to accomodate you (provided that the ballroom is available before that, because sometimes, they may have other functions or seminars before the dinner). The hotel will tell you what usually happens and if you want to do something else, i am sure you can speak to them. Do what you are comfortable with.

Most importantly, you must have fun!!

Hi Astrogirl,

You're welcome. Anything to help out a fellow bride. Also, i guess at this time, everything is still pretty fresh in my head.

All the Best!

Hi Astrogirl,

I honestly cannot remember because it was discussed and negotiated in 2 parts. When we finalised and signed the package about 8 to 9 mths ago, we asked to remove a few things and to add in the seat covers. The only thing i could remmeber are the wedding favours. So sorry!

Hi ladies,
I have the wedding dinner date decided. It will be in Mar'07. My hubby have just booked the date with Four Seasons. Looking at the price of SGD 868+++, I am getting a bit...worried? I am going to ask stupid questions....and would really appreciate someone out there could help me out here..the jittery bride-to-be!

FS haven't talked to me in person yet with regards to everything bout the wedding banquet. We just called up to book the date.

No. of tables: 20-25 tables

Wedding banquet...How is the payment made? $858 is not the final figure right? I still need to add 5%GST. Anything else? What are the choices of payment for a wedding banquet? Any flexibility? Do you have any advice on this please?

Bridal package - I am probably looking at Dang. I have frankly speaking, not much of a sum to spend. No idea how much either that I need to spend. I am afraid of feathers..so Ted & Frederick & any fanciful gowns are out. Looking for simple elegant cut, romantic, something like Vera Wang... Any recomendations? How are the bridal packages payment made?

Flowers - I am mad bout flowers. Understand that FS do provide 6 flower arrangements in the banquet itself. And then, bridal packages will also include the hand bouquet and corsages too? What if I need to add in more flowers? Or, if I have someone in mind whom can help source flowers at a cheaper rate for me, can I use her instead or the bridal shop / hotel?

Would really appreciate if you could help advise & enlighten me, as I am totally at lost...

Many many thanks!!

If the price stated in your proposal is $868+++, it means it would cost you $868 + 16% charge for each table. Deposit by cash/card/cheque and final payment upon checkout by cash/card only.

Hi Cheryl_Sue,

I am a Four Seasons Bride too. Mine will be in Mar06 =)

I have seen the gowns of Dang. It was at my uni senior's wedding. The bride wore a simple yet elegant A-line long dress. It was with lace. It was really pretty. I was very impressed with Dang. The evening gown was great also. Reminds me of a Greek goodness in turqoise colour.

Don't panic about your wedding preparation. You have so much time on your hands. Ask questions, look around and do your research. Be glad that you started early =) I started my wedding research and preparation back in Dec04. Hahahaha.. I like that idea of doing things slowly, and not having to jam everything up.

For your bridal package, check out the payment terms with each bridal studio. Same for Four Seasons. Book a meeting with Four Seasons and discuss everything in details with them. That's why they are here for. To help you my friend =)

Hey AhCapp,

Glad to see you here! Sorry havent been able to email you recently. How are you? For me, i am busy preparing for my US business trip at the end of this week. How did your photo selections turn out?

Hi Alexis,

I have not been very active with this board for some time. Nice to see u here! =)

I am fine. Been busy with my photoshot and my house hunting last month. Currently just lazing around and at the same time, continue with my wedding preparation slowly.

My photo selectoin went on great. We were happy with the result and managed to keep everything within our budget. =)

I always envy people who can go on business trips. Do have a great journey! =)
