happy.gif
. think really a hot date!!!

going to call another 2 VGs today.. but their package a bit expensive.. if really got no choice.. have to take also.. as i a bit late in booking .

Hi Shirley,
wahh...so hot the date, i saw another 4 VG at the SB home page, did u check with them also?

So are your preps going along?

Hi JJ,

Thanks.. I am meeting RaymondDelon this Sunday.. quite like his works.. but dun know how much he going to charge me.
happy.gif

oh Fabian Lim.. pretty expensive le!! hehe... i never call .. but my colleagues told me Fabian Lim's package quite exp. but of course "quality" very good!

Hi Josl..

ya loh... hot date le.. i'm waiting for my wedding albums now.. coming out early Nov..
happy.gif

when is your AD?
happy.gif
.. oh ya.. do you plan to give any wedding favours to your guests?

hi josl,

thanks for the multiply invite! i'm honoured!

we'll be mtg eugene this coming tues/wed to finalise the details. have not fixed the decor yet. but will be having the stage setup instead of the ice craving for sure! haha...

went for food tasting on wed. find the quantity provided per dish is optimal. it ensures that one will not feel stuffed at 1/2 point.

josl, i'm kind of concern abt the short walkin. u had similiar concern earlier?

Hi sgwestie,

We just met up with Mr Ho this week to finalise the details of our wedding dinner. The only thing that we havent decided is the table cloth colour scheme. When is your AD?

I also feel the walk in abit short....and my train is abit long. Hmm....anybody do anything different other than couple do the march in together?

Hi sgwestie,
hee no prob.
happy.gif

So interesting, update us which colour theme u be using.
happy.gif
I found the red roses still the nicest of the all, but its up to individual.

Din manage to eat much that nite, rather mingle than to sit and eat hee,coz at nite got steak in the rm.

Haha i din really think abt the short walkin, its abt 3 tables tats all.

Hi Aleixis,

What are the options available for the table cloth colour scheme? I thought there are only the gold printed table cloth for the VIP tables and ivory coloured ones for the guest tables?

During your meeting to finalise the details, what are the things that will be discussed?

hi alexis,

we're not sure yet. will look at the pictures and let you know... kekeke.... maybe will 'gatecrash' this evening AD earlier and peep at the decor.

haha.... maybe you guys can do a re-enactment of the proposal when you just come in thru the doors... can wear a wireless mike to 'repledge' your love to one another... then a walk down... what u think?
happy.gif

wah... got steak... its the supper or what? your groomsmen and bridesmaid didn't come up and tekan you guys?

Hi sgwestie,
there is supper in the rm after the wedding dinner, ours is a quiet wedding no tekan and sabo hee, all went hm after the dinner hahaa coz the next day is a working day.
happy.gif

Hi JJ,

I believe the options were white, ivory or maroon. For seat colours, i think it is white or black (to go with the maroon). You are right about the VIP table and the gold table cloth. I am leaving the colour scheme to my FH.

Hmm...let me try to recall what was discussed. I believe it was : Estimated no. of guests, menu , no. of vegetarian menus, colour scheme for table cloth, any video going to be screened during the dinner, wine and/or beer, favours, flowers for centrepiece, supper menu after dinner for couple, etc. etc.

Hi sgwestie,

happy.gif
Did you manage to gatecrash this evening AD? How?

Err...reactment of our proposal? I dont think we are both comfortable doing that leh.....ehhe...

Oh yeah, the type of supper we wanted (i believe there is an Asian menu or Western menu) was also briefly discussed when we met up with Mr Ho. This is sent to the suite after everything is over because the couple doesnt usually get to eat much during the dinner.
happy.gif

hi josl,

our wedding is also on a sunday... looking fwd to a similiar end result as yours... haha!

btw, did u get a FOC day room from FS for your groomsmen and bridesmaid?

hi alexis,

we're thinking of maroon for the VIP tables and gold for guest tables. what do u think?

yes, i managed to gather instant pictures from FS. will upload them shortly.

hi sgwestie,
Haha, maybe if u have quiet friends like us, i dun have a extra rm,, i dun think they will give also, but they gave us a bigger suite.
happy.gif

Maroon table cloth goes well with black seat covers, wanted that look but the oldies will not like it so i scrapped the idea, not sure they have so many gold table cloth for the whole ballrm though.

hi josl,

did your emcees or groomsmen tekan you guys during the evening or when you were on stage? saw the stage is kinda small...

i counted the no. of normal footsteps from entrance to stage steps. abt 30 steps @ 1 step a second...

Hi sgwestie,
told them not to sabo us...so they kuai kuai din sabo ,we also gave them the script last min, din think they have time to think how to sabo us also.

Yeah the march in is quite fast unless u can think of other ways to march in longer
happy.gif

hi josl,

haha.... thats a gd ploy.. to give them a last min script... but u not concerned they'll be tongue tied?

i find the ballroom is pretty packed when there are 25+1 tables. will 32 be squeezy?

Hi sgwestie,
they were fine, juz needed them to follow the order that was given to them, didnt have the mc to speak in chinese. Haha even if they were tongue tied i wasnt there most of the time to hear also .
happy.gif

I think cheerygal had 30 tables and it was fine, mine was abt 26 tables and i think its ok still got place to walk, how many tables u having?

Hi sgwestie,

THanks for the photos!!!
happy.gif
This really helps. Looking at the photos you just took, do you find that the white seatcovers with the ivory/white tablecloth is abit stark. What do you think?

And, i believe what josl said about the gold tablecloth is true. I think i heard Mr Ho say something like they only have a limited no. of gold tablecloths. So, the combinations that you can play with is maroon (with black seatcovers), ivory or white tablecloth.

30 steps to the stage huh? Thanks for the infor and for counting!
happy.gif

Have a good week ahead!

hi everyone
i am deciding where to hold my solemnization next feb. seen fs window east, its wonderful but now i am stuck whether to hold it there or regent or goodwood. can someone send me some pics of yr solemnization at fs? i would really love to settle the venue as its stressing me out!

any news of coming wedding shows at FS? I understand that such shows by FS are usually by invitation only...but any couples here receiving news of any such forthcoming events?

Thanks
happy.gif

hi josl,

we're looking into the region of 30+/- tables also. hope it doesn't hit the max of 32. dun want my guests to feel crampy....

hi aleixis,

i find the ivory/white combi should be fine. of course you may wish to top up a bit to get the ribbons behind the chair. or get some ideas from wedding mags and DIY some simple decor for pinning on the seat cover.
happy.gif

wrt the gold tablecloth, thats what i think so too. well, if thats the case, i may consider doing something similiar to the abv para. but most prob not the maroon/black combi. i dun want to be nagged by my wife and in-laws forever... kekeke.... :p

its abt 30 slow steps... abt a step/sec. so you may want to extend it by coming in from separate doors at different timings. e.g. you come in first and wait at the centre for few seconds. then your hubby come in. or vice versa. if not, your guests will be doing the mexican wave (i.e. stand up and sit down)....

hi hana,

both regent and goodwood are good locales. regent being part of the FS brand and goodwood as a nostalgic place. hv you check out the CNY dates for next year? and yes, its high time to book now... cos its the festive period and not much time left...

alternatively, do make an appointment to have a site visit for the 3 locations to have a firsthand look. that will help you greatly while finding ROM pictures from us.

hi RKMS,

don't think there will be any wedding shows this year. not sure abt next year though... but i only know pxs will inch upwards... gd luck!

cheers!

Hi sgwestie,

I had 32 tables. It was fine. I still could walk around with my long-train evening gown.

Hi Alexis,

If u find the march-in too short, can adopt wat sgwestie suggested. Tats wat I did too. We both came in fr diff doors & meet in the middle to march-in together.

Hi everyone,

Cheerygal, nice to see you back here.. I haven't been visiting this thread for a long time =P

anyway, was wondering whether anybody engaged one of the band recommended by FS, i.e. Light Music People, Savoir-Faire entertainment, Compass Entertainment Services, Just The Few of Us, and ET Music.

Also, I was thinking of having a real wedding cake or croquembouche for the wedding. But i'm not sure whether FS will allow that or how much will they charge for bringing own cake. Any idea?

Thanks! =D

Hi everyone, I just signed up with FB and will be getting married in Jun 2006. Does anyone know how much will it cost to engage a band?

The person i dealt with in FB is Lewis low.But seems like Eugene is popular...sigh i shd have found this thread some time ago...I wanted to "bargain" for more freebies but he seemed really inflexible. basically i only can get wat they had written down. sigh...I am worried about how much the corkages and all will add up to the final bill. thanks!

I visited the Crescent BR and window east room yest...both are lovely..and I was very impressed by the service of FS staff..thumbs up!

However..Crescent BR's max is only 15 tables..and with a rough count, most likely I will exceed that...the min for the BR is 25 issit? I dun think I will be inviting that many tho...headache headache..both my fiance and I like the place pretty much..and quite lazy to go source for other places..heehee

but I will be attending regent for the wedding show 2 wks later..wonder how the function room for ROM will be like...

The last wedding I attended at Four Seasons (i've attended 3 in total), I remembered the red roses theme the most...very distinct and o/s design..something like Moulin Rouge kinda style...

Hope to join the FS club soon... ;)

Hello all,

I am new in this thread too..

Though my AD is in June, I am still considering between Calton, Regent and four Season..

Hi Cheergal & sgwestie
Can you see me your photo too? I hope this can help me to decide which hotel to pick..
my email: [email protected]

thank you

Hi JoyJoy,

I think the Crescent Ballroom can only cater for 15 tables. If you have 25 to 30 tables, you need the Four Seasons Ballroom. The max # of tables that it can take is 32 tables.

hi joy joy,

FS is very strict in their contract. amongst all couples who signed up with them, you'll get more or less the same stuff as we do. they do not provide freebies easily.

good luck!

Hi,
I agree...they are quite inflexible but the ambience is lovely and exclusive. I really like it that is why i took it. I too fear that with the corkage charges and all it might be a huge bill to settle. sigh...

btw has anyone ever had petals thrown on the floor during the march in. Do they allow that in FS?

Hi ST,

I had attended one wedding at FS and they did use petals for march in.

I did not manage to get any perks, in fact, I have to pay beer and wine corkage of $15.

Is most of you getting the same?

sg,

Yes, the beer is at 680+++ and the wine corkage is at $15/bottle.

Are you getting the same deal? I am estimating at $1.5k bill for solely beer and wine. Wonder is there any alternative...

Hi sgwestie & JoyJoy,

Yes, there is corkage charges for the hard liquor and red/white wine if you bring your own liquor/wine. With the corkage charges, that is why alot of people probably just take the wine from them. They should have given you their winelist. If you order from them, there is no corkage charges. Also, you are only charged based on consumption. You just need to confirm to them which wine you want to get from them during the meeting a few weeks before your AD.

I am doing the same thing...feel that it is less hassle.
happy.gif

hi, can anyone share with me what's the package details like? What is the pricing for wkdays and wkend and max no of table is?
