Four Seasons Hotel

Oh.. so sorry to hear that.... perhaps you should reflect this to your co-ordinator to find out what went wrong.. they should be informed and the customer deserve a satisfactory explaination.

Not to defend them, but there might be a miscommunication? One of my relative forgotten about the complimentary parking coupon and almost got a heart attack when she exit the carpark.. When we raise this to the hotel, I believe they did a refund to her IU

Cat: I have already feedback to my co-ordinator but so far haven't hear anything from them... not sure if I will...

of cos I can't deny that their service is very good... but for this, they should practically check carefully before presenting the bill to me...

Hi. i've went down to have a discussion on the package details a few months back. And i remembered the person who attended to us, mentioned that the total bill will be done on the next day after the whole evening dinner celebration.

I thought it was really good of them to present us the bill only the next day...as only then we will have a clearer state of mind to run through every items.

But, i think i was not quite right to determine that? hmm..

Hi, I am shortlisting FS for our solemnization (on 20th Floor) and Wedding Banquet. I haven't received the package yet but am quite particualr about their arrangements/perks. Are they really that stringent in throwing in additional perks?

Anyone can share their nego experience with them?

Hi pumpkeen,

Had my wedding at FS and we were very happy with their service. It was a very long day and all I had to worry about was my makeup once we checked in. They provided an early dinner since we won't be eating much at the reception. The banquet manager was in control of everything. Gave us directions and got us to rest in the room and he'll give us a call to come down before march in etc etc. We dont have a single thing to worry about. My dress had a 2m train and they were there to adjust my train before march in, arrange it when i walk up the stage etc. Saw some kids running around and got the kitchen to make some fish n chips for them too. One waiter per table and guest's request were promptly dealt with.

For everyone who have been asking about pricing, Four Seasons is not cheap. We were happy with the basic deluxe menu and made some changes which were foc. We were told to budget in around 1.5 bottles of wine so per table is around $1500.

If you are very particular about perks then I'll suggest you choose another place. They are very stringent and all i had was 5 bottles of free corkage.

If you want service, prompt response to your emails, someone to help you when you are stressed out during the last few weeks before the wedding, then Four Seasons will be there to make it your perfect wedding.

Mine was perfect and it was filled with very beautiful memories. And it was really nice to hear from guest/relatives that we have picked a wonderful venue.

Hi alyssa, Not Sher but usually you should discuss it with the co-ordinator before you sign the package. You can discuss it on the first meeting with your co-ordinator.

hope that helps..cheers!

I am planning my lunch banquet at FS as well. in fact, i met Ginny and had a short discussion with her. Their package is pretty comprehensive, nothing much to complain about seriously. Am having it at the crescent ballroom. Just wondering anyone of you here has any "real life" picture of wedding at the crescent ball room?
Can send to [email protected]

wow, i think i should take back my previous post. For those who intend to do for lunch, please prepare yourself to read the contract carefully.

1. Projector not provided, be prepared to fork out $150++ if you need 1.

2. Dry ice and red carpet not included. They charged $100++ for dry ice and $420++ for dry ice machine.

3. those who need a room discount, please make sure you ask for the rate or the percentage. was pretty pissed when i was told that the rate wasnt confirm and all was indicated was "SPECIAL RATE" when questioned about the SPECIAL rate in 2010, she gave me the same price as what was seen over the internet (minus breakfast).

I was pretty angry when they told me that i shouldnt do my Tea Ceremony in the Suite because of Security Reasons.

Had decided to go for other places after being told all the restrictions and cost. Seriously I was prepared for expensive deposit and expensive table since its four seasons. Even so, many hotels of the same level are more flexible, and cheaper. I dont feel good paying four seasons afterall.

actually i am deciding between goodwood and four seasons for nov 2011. diff in price is less than S$100 per table. and now trying to figure out which is better by scruntinising

1. hidden costs. e.g. the projector and dry ice thingie that alex chen highlighted

2. personal preferences. still feel that four seasons better service and nicer looking ballroom. but my colleagues feeedback the food there no good

me too was deciding betwen 2 hotels...

Janice: probably if you are somebody who is particular about service level..just a thought would it be better to choose FS? you mean the service for your co-ordinator or staffs that serve the food is better?

Hi, I had my banquet in four seasons in jun. I would say though four seasons is slightly more exp than others, the svs would make up for it. The banquet manager is attentive and his eye sight is never away fm the couple. He's veri observant and sensitive to the surroundings.
I do without the dry ice. I guess it's no longer a requirement or a must to have it and think it in the other way, u have a clearer pic when doing a match in rather than having pics with misty smoke around the couple.
I had my solemnisation before the dinner starts. It was held in the cocktail area and I was surprised when the banquet manager did a small march in for us during solemnisation. It's something I didn't expect. Tea ceremony was held at the same area and the banquet manager was in charge it. He held on the tea pot, serve teas, assist in all areas without any complaints. This gesture was welcome as I'm actually having headache who should assist in tea ceremony earlier.
Compared to goodwood, four seasons offers the strawberry or Peking duck station during cocktail reception which is definitely outstanding in this manner.
Of course i wouldn't say their food is the best. Each tastebud is different and we can't please every guests on this.
This is my personal thoughts and hope help to assist in venue choosing decision.

apple bliss: by service i meant the coordinator. the one i met at goodwood was really just passable.

akak: thanks for the feedback. always great to hear from someone with a recent first hand experience, and i agree. the peking duck station really wooed me! haha.

i agree with sher. i am a jan 2011 BTB. their package are pretty inflexible, but they are some1 who are very attentive/responsible. every single email is prompty replied.

the most i get is 5 cockage waiver. thats all. no projectors, no choice of wedding favour as well.

but i have no regrets signing up with them. im sure i am in good hands.

Hi Baby Pie,

I rented my projector from this company at $90

http://rentprojector.com.sg/Products.htm

They were there at 5-6pm, set up the projector, tested it and picked it up the next day. Had no problems at all with them

Red> Just got back from my honeymoon and will post some pictures of the venue this week

For everyone who's been asking about perks, I feel that Four Seasons is very fair. No one gets more than anyone else. I will hate to know that some other couple is paying the same amount and they managed to negotiate a lot more than I did. Others might find it inflexible but I feel that I am not being ripped off and paying for what I get.

i think if its the co-ordinator's service then it has to be someone that you are more comfortable with cause its someone that you would be liaising for months for your wedding..

Im also agree with Sher on the same point about being consistency...i think even within Four Seasons itself the all the perks are the same regardless you hold your wedding at the grand ballroom or crescent ballroom except for the free barrel of beer..

Hi

My name is Jarls Lee from Singapore and I am an undergraduate at a Hospitality Management school in Switzerland. For my undergraduate dissertation, I am looking at the negotiation behaviour of prospective wedding couples looking to hold their wedding banquet at 5-star hotels in Singapore.

Your response is kindly appreciated and will aid in the completion of my paper.

This survey will take up 15-20 minutes of your time.

haha..i found more for you :p

I didn't take any pre-event cocktail cos my guests are different. Husband and I actually live in Australia so mostly just my relatives and parents' friends in sg. Then usually the older generation will arrive either just before the wedding or late so we didn't have any cocktail station. I was quite interested in the peking duck station! If we live in sg and have more colleagues and friends, the ice bar option is very cool!
