Anyone knows if we are allowed to use the grand piano from the hotel? I'm thinking of engaging a live band and the grand piano will be part of the ensemble.

Just had our wedding at the Four Seasons last weekend. Everything was perfect! :D The service was exceptional and food was great!

In fact, we're still patting ourselves on the back for our brilliant decision to go with the FS, lol! ;D All BTBs who are with the FS, rest assured that you are in the best of hands.

Hi Mage,

I'll do so once I get my photos from my photographer.
happy.gif

Just to elaborate a little further, all our requests and questions were met with "we'll take care of that" from the staff at FS - we were basically hand-held through the entire process. Seriously, each time I met with Georgette, my coordinator, I ALWAYS felt my stress dissipating.
happy.gif
Her prompt service and efficiency really went a longggg way during the last stressful month we had man.

On the actual day, we were met by a staff of about 5 during our briefing at 5pm. Each single person from the FS was completely on the ball; we had detailed and clear explanations about what would happen when and where. And everyone was so helpful! (We forgot our cables for our DVD player and the AV Technician immediately took care of the problem for us).
happy.gif

During dinner, we were always cued what to do at each juncture. Seriously, 2 monkeys could get married there and the dinner would go without a hitch. :p The whole experience was completely stress-free, which was a shocker to me - I expected to have at least some 'kan-cheong' moments or at least have one or two things go wrong, but DUN HAVE leh!! :D Hahaha. There was always someone on hand to help with my bouquet, my wine glass, my gown etc. etc.... So much so I was afraid that my bridesmaid would feel redundant, lol! ;D

Our suite was also really lovely.
happy.gif

If only we knew how much we would enjoy the FS, we would have planned our second dinner there too (we split up our dinners between family & friends) and saved ourselves the hassle of dealing with a lesser hotel. :p

SO! FS brides, you really have nothing to worry about.
happy.gif
Just look radiant and enjoy your day.

Also, my dog (a cocker spaniel too) was with us during the whole dinner.
happy.gif
He marched-in with us (wearing a tux) and my bridesmaid and jie-meis (experienced dog owners) took care of him during dinner. They even walked him just before dinner and right after dinner to ensure that he wouldn't make any unscheduled toilet breaks, haha. ;P

The FS also provided doggy with a water bowl - and I remember one of the waiters actually asking me if he could get anything for me or for my dog.
happy.gif
(The service was THAT good). We were so happy that our dog was treated as well as any other guest.
happy.gif

Doggy stayed with us overnight too. The FS provided a cute basket-bed for him (although mine slept on the armchair next to our bed) and had food and water bowls ready.
happy.gif
We walked him outside the hotel grounds for his poop/pee sessions - thankfully, no accidents! *phew!*

Hi Quack,
Glad that that you had a wonderful experience with FS. Do show us some of your weddding photos!! I agree that whenever we (HTB and I) step into FS to meet my co-ordinator, we feel that we will be well taken care of. Mainly because of the service....and the co-ordinators are so experienced such that they could give useful advice.

Happy for you that your dog could be a part of your wedding too! We really want to include our dog in our celebration as well and were so happy to find out that FS allows dogs! One question, I was told that after the first march-in, will have to bring the dog upstairs to the suite. Mainly for the reason that they have Muslim servers and for hygiene purposes. Were you given this advice as well? Or was it agreed that your dog could stay throughout the wedding? For me, it would be best if my dog can stay throughout....though she'll probably be sleeping or begging for food during the event

Hi Jac,

I don't recall the FS asking us to bring him upstairs after the march-in leh. My dog was actually kept on leash throughout dinner; he was also quite well-behaved. So they could just have been lenient with us? ;P

But I did have a back-up plan in case he posed a problem: 2 of my jie-meis were actually prepared to take him upstairs and stay with him until dinner was over if need be. They were actually designated as "Friends of the Dog" and their main responsibilities were to help me with managing my doggy the entire day (even during the church ceremony, tea ceremony etc.).
happy.gif
They REALLY REALLY made it easy for me to set my mind at ease and just enjoy the day. Might be a good idea to consider if you're including your dog.

When is your wedding btw?

Hi all!

it's so great to hear that I'm not the only one planning my wedding away from Singapore! I'm currently working in the UK. Have booked the 4 seasons Crescent Ballroom for the 13th Sept 08.

My planner is Elaine. Has anyone worked with her before? So far, the response has been pretty good and she is really friendly and all.

I've not chosen my food yet. Has anyone used the martini bar or the strawberry bar? Am wondering whether to top up or not.

The only thing about Four Seasons so far is that they are pretty strict about perks and etc. No waiver of corkage and their corkage is $40 per bottle! so it's pretty ex. But I love their ballrooms!

I need help with wine choices... does most people buy from Four Seasons or are u looking to pay corkage and buy outside? I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle, esp if I'm away from Singapore!

Hi mimylassy,
I think have to choose within the wedding cards provided by then hotel. Otherwise, might have to fork out the extra expense yourself. Are the designs of the cards not satisfactory?

Hey Mage,
wow you AD is coming pretty soon? Got most of the planning settled?

Hi luvz17,
why don't you give Four Seasons a call? ASk to be connected to the catering sales dept. Its odd that they didn't reply to you. When I first emailed them, they got back to me within 24hrs. Do try calling.

Hi missy54,
I've booked the Crescent ballroom too! The chandeliers are nice aren't they?
We're thinking of topping up for the strawberry bar. Saw the set up before and it is really unique and outstanding.
I think it will be better to get the wine from FS. I feel that its not worth the expensive corkage charge.

Hi BTBs,
I held my wedding in FS in Sep and I only can say that I was so pleased with the service that was provided.

I think the wedding cards are pretty good standard. They get the cards from this supplier if I am not wrong.
http://www.lil-art.com/lil'art_range.htm

Printing wise, they will provide you a few contacts which has FS Template.

Congrats to all and happy planning!

missy54, I'm just going to get wine from the hotel. I got the 12 bottles free promo during the bridal show. Additional wine, cheapest will be $38+++, no need for corkage. Makes more sense that way.

Jac, yup, its less than 2 months away! Just had a discussion with Ho few days ago. Managed to tie down a few loose ends. Going for my food tasting next week before finalization.

Now I can't decide between the brown table cloth or the black table cloth with gold organza...

Hi luvz,
Which date are you looking at? I gather that FS is rather popular cos when I called them, they told me the dinner for 28th Dec 08 was already booked! I called them in Sept, so really must 'chop chop' otherwise, there'll be little choice left. Are you lookin at other hotels too?

Hi mimmylassy,
I hope when its my turn to choose, they have better range of cards. So are you going to source outside for nicer cards?

Hi Mage,
wow...its getting exciting! Is the brown table cloth nice? I noticed from their pics, the gold organza looks quite good...it seems to give a diff feel...Also, its so nice that you got 12 bottles of wine free!!

Jac, the brown table cloth is kinda bronzy / copperish colour I think. I have to see the cloth for real before I can decide... Ya lucky during the bridal show promo there's this 12 bottles of wine free.

FS cards is simple but yet its nice. I didn't take their cards as I have my own designed cards.

Jac,
My date will be 7th Dec 08. Got the date about 2 weeks ago and I have been sourcing since then.
Yup, I tried other hotels like marriot. It is the minimum table that is quite a problem. With such a high price for each table, 40 tables will cost me alot.

Ur date is 28th Dec 08? Then how, I mean after they told you it is booked? How many ballrooms do they have?

Hi luvz,
how many tables are you lookin at? if you are looking at 40 tables, i think that exceeds the limit for the Four seasons ballroom.
Yes wedding date is on 28th Dec 08. FS has 2 ballrooms. I'm taking the crescent ballroom. We intend to have either lunch or high tea to begin with. So it wasn't a problem to us when we found out the dinner slot was already booked. Luckily, we managed to get the afternoon slot.

Hi girls,
Dinner for my AD was taken as well so I went with lunch instead at the cresent ballroom. Heard from Ginny that they might consider changing their cards. Will only get an answer in march i think.

Mage you are so lucky to get the 12 bottles of free win!!! so nice

Hi Jac,

I am looking about 25-30 tables. Went there over the weekend and we like the place alot. We have seen both the grand ballroom and crescent ballroom.

They still have afternoon slot but hubby dun want. so, another way is to get another date, weekdays...

But I find they are pretty strict in their package. Nothing from the discussion. I was told that there is no complimentary beer/ wine and there is corkage fee. Anyone of you have complimentary privileges?

mage

Yup that's FS! Hehe!

No complimentary anything but superb service!

They are very strict with their perks.

hi gals, need some advice...
happy.gif
did u get the projector from hotel or bring it in urself? also, how many screens did u use? one or both? i am thinking of only using one but my hubby is concerned that ppl sitting near the screen may hv to strain their necks looking up. also, anyone taking the western dessert instead of the conventional dessert in the menu? how was the feedback? thanks!!

missy54

New Member
I didn't realise that it is possible for 2 screens? So does that mean that you need 2 projectors too?
I can't remember how much it is for the projector now. But I do agree that the neck problem might not be nice...

I was asking FS if they have only 1 western dessert, so not much of a choice. from what I've heard, the western dessert are pretty good. I went to the bridal fair and the dessert buffet was gorgeous! but I didn't think that it's worth to get that.
