Hi all... any kind soul has the answers for the following.. is there a price diff if you book from "Swissotel The Stamford" compared to "Fairmont Singapore"?
Btw, the invitation card prints which hotel name, fairmont or swissotel?
It's 2 different hotel entrance, although EVERYTHING else is the same.

Dilemma
Atrium ballroom has low ceiling, but private foyer whereas Canning/Padang/Collyer ballrooms have high ceiling (very grand) but foyer (partitioned) where the reception table will be is very open, if more than 2 weddings going on same night, guests may be confused. What's your take?
Went to view the place last Sat, and there was 2 grooms having the same name "Daniel Loh" getting married, one at Stamford and the other at Canning, at first I tot it's the same couple, then I realised diff brides' names (although both bride surname is Tay).

hi happyman..yes yr dilemma was one of my concerns too...but for me i don't have a choice b'cos eventually i know i'm going to exceed the max tables allowed in atrium..so i hv to take canning. i think u hv to really work out the nbr of tables u will hv. if its within the capacity..go ahead n take atrium..
although low ceiling seems to make it look 'less grand', but the private reception area is a very big plus point!!

Hi, I went for the viewing too, and learnt from the manager - Wendy, that the date we are looking at is taken up by some corporate event. Sad.... Now she is trying to check if Stamford is available. Has anyone of you here seen Stamford ballrooms? nice? Ceiling high? Grand?

we only got the perks that were offered during the wedding show..free 2nd nite at the suite..some complimentary wine..free beer (cant rem the quantity)..n i cant quite rem alrd..

Dear Chloe, when is ur AD? I am also interested in having a dinner at Stamford. the ballrooms there looks nice. I know they are having a bridal show in sept. wondering what perks they will be giving. anyone went for their bridal show before? can someone let me know more about the perks?

@Vivjass: Hey, my actual day is 6th Dec 2011. Initially was 31 Dec 2011, but taken up by some corporate event already. Anyway, I heard that when you go for the bridal show and IF you sign up on the same day, there will be additional perks. Eg instead of 1 night stay in ur bridal suite, you get to have 1 more night free (2 nights stay). I think its pretty cool, cos the suites are located on the 66th to 68th floor! How cool! I think its good that you do ALL ur homework now, and if you really like Fairmont Swissotel, sign up on that day bah, more goodies, i think!

hi, nope, we didn't sign during bridal show. basically the standard package covers pretty much everything. we actually couldn't think of more things to ask. Requests, e.g. red carpet for march in, were well received. depending on the number of tables confirmed, additional offers were given.
the only difficulties we encountered would be beer/wine. they are quite adament on sticking to the standard package. =)

Apparently, I agree with you, fairmont is pretty strict with the beer and wines. Its pretty hard to haggle on that part. However, from what I see, the standard package they gave are already pretty complete. It covers most of the things already. However, from what I gather, they are pretty 'relaxed' on the number of carpark coupons. The standard package gives you only 10%, and you can haggle for more. =)

hi chloe, our coordinator is wendy. she's a lovely person, very friendly and jovial, not to mentioned, experienced. =) we feel very comfortable with her.
we are taking stamford ballroom after much consideration. the grand appearance and two big projector screens won us over. Also, the reception area is very spacious and we get to have the entire space! We were deciding between Canning and Stamford.

congrats xinyi. 2 big things are settled and you can take a huge weigh off you. Hope to settle my wedding dinner too. Good that you and Chloe have more tables cause i realize that the more tables you get. the more perks they give. for me and my HTB, we are looking at 20 tables. most of the stuff are not covered. hope they can give us more perks on the bridal show.
