Hi All,
I am about to go and choose the materials for my curtains ... I need some guidelines as to how much per yard is considered expensive, average, cost effective?

HI All,

I am interested to install roller bind for my bedrooms, however, like aiyoyo I am concerned with the noise that trigger when the rod hit onto the window frame ... does anyone has a solution?

Hi naturally,

did you get your contractor to paint your walls before you did curtains? If so, did the installations of the curtain rods affect the paintwork, eg. hair line cracks, etc? I'm asking because I have been recommended Sunrin by my sister-in-law too. But would like to know whether to arrange for my painter to paint after or before installation of curtains.

Hi Piglet, Min, and min,
happy.gif

I only have the Sunrin salesguy's hp contact with me now, his name is Sam, hp:96637225. Maybe u would like to check up yellowpages if u prefer to speak to the headoffice?

Hi winnie,
Are u the same winnie from the punggol C29 thread? Anyway, my paintwork was already done before the curtain installation, and nope, didn't see any paint cracks. However i dunno whether its becos installation is done well, or the painting is good... maybe both?

Btw, heard this from a fren, try not to go for wooden rods if u use heavy curtain fabrics, cos rod will bend! Hubby chose tracking instead, he thinks is easier to take down for washing...

Hi ming,

I engaged Window View to do up my place.

Did the following:
1 full-height day & night curtain for living room
4 half-height roman blinds for 3 bedrooms
(MBR - 2 pieces)
1 half-height roman blinds for dining hall window.

Paid $1300 for it.

Services and the quality not bad....sales lady quite nice.

You can give her a call at 9772 6522 (Joey Sim) for discussions. She will bring all her barang barang to your place to choose. Non-obligatory.

Dear All,

Anyone heard of Choice curtains and furnishing?

Do the companies provide warranty for all the tracks and curtains?

Hi all,

i bought readymade curtains n they're way too long cos my contractor installed the curtain rods too low.

Is there anyway i can make a permanant hemming up w/o stitching/sewing? i vaguely remember ikea selling some iron on/ paste on 'glue strips' for curtains.....anybody tried those?

if not, is there any seamstress in woodlands/sembawang/yishun who does hemming up of curtains?

hi long, why not send your curtain for washing and spin dry??? I think the curtain will shrink after washing and probably meet your desire???

Hi gals,

I just got a quotation from this company called Golden Leaf and its not bad at all. Saw their site on the internet and they're really reasonable (nice people too). Their shop is at Whampoa. Just go to www.goldenleaf.com.sg; they've a page called "Special Offer" where they'll do your entire unit for a package price.

Dear all,

Just to share my bad experience with this company. Company name : Corri Track & Accessories.

After doing some asking around during an expo exhibition at 21/12/2003, we decided to confirm with this shop as they are the cheapest for the same quality. We agreed to have the curtains installed and delivered on 15 Jan 2004. Currently my flat is undergo renovation and the handover will be 15 Jan 2004. We only do for the living room area. The total cost was $450 and $150 was paid as deposit.

One of the salesman called me a week later and told me that they could only deliver on the 31 Dec 2003. I told them that no way because my flat is not ready and it will dirty the curtains. They told me that they have no other date. I have no choice but to call my project manager to check with him. I called that salesman again to see whether can we comprised on something. But he told me no. Seeing that i have no other choices, i told him to install the track and leave the curtains with my project manager as we often leave everything to my project manager. We only inspect every Sunday when we are free.

The bad service came. They asked me to pay them as they did not received payment after installing. I told them I couldnt be around on that day, but i promised to mail a cheque to them immediately. My wife suggested to pay via VISA to earn points. So we make a trip down to the shop. One of the people in the shop told us that the machine is currently at the expo and will only be back on Monday. Hearing this, I told the person that we will be back on Monday to pay the balance.

That salesman called us shortly after that and ask us to pay by cheque. I told him that we would like to pay by VISA, and dont mind making a trip down to expo to do that. He told us no, because we already paid the deposit via VISA and that will be 2 credit charges. My wife took over the phone and reminded him that we paid the deposit via NETS and the job was not fully accomplished and we were at the shop previously with the intention to pay the remaining. He immediately changed his story. He told us that he has the VISA machine only for the exhibition and they will not have the machine. My wife reminded him that one of the person sitting in a big desk in an air-con room told us that the machine will be back on Monday. She reminded him that the agreement was to deliver on the 15 Jan 2004 so that we are there to receive the flat and the furniture and they can able to install the curtains. Now we have to do the installation ourselves. Hearing this, he changed his story to say that if your husband has not insisted to be delivered on 15 Jan 2004, they will get another sub con to do the job. Now he is trying to twist around, playing with words.

There i am trying to be a nice customer, forcing ourselves to accept their proposed delivery date earlier at our inconvenience, being a good customer.

Nevertheless, I will still pay up but after I checked the curtains after experiencing this kind of service.

I hope people in this forum will beware of this company.

Postpet, i think not so easy to get it done fr sketch and maybe not worth the effort? Lots of measurement and sewing cos the cloth not small pcs...

But if i have lots of time, i might try sewing other stuffs cos I love craft work.
Cheers
