Conrad Centennial Singapore

Oh and thanks for the picture really appreciate it

Just spoke to my coordinator and she mentions that there is a gold and black and red theme coming up next month so i might just go down and take a look then

WOw..........does it look nice with the color of the evening and the gold/ivory theme if so maybe i just stick to the original color then.

How was the food then, was it cold as mentioned in this forum?

Do u mind showing me the pic of your wedding banquet so i can have a idea how the actual gold and ivory theme looks like

THanks

This is interesting! I've looked through all the pictures and I don't have a picture of me in my wedding dress next to the table cloth! Wow! (Maybe it's a sign you needn't be too fussed about the colour!)

The pictures that do have the table cloth don't show up the colours well as well because of the low lighting.

When's your wedding?

Your coordinator will show you options a few months before your dinner (both photos and actual samples) so you can make an informed decision at that point.

hahhahha....it interesting too cos the way i wrote is like i be holding my wedding in a week time

I be having my wedding dinner on Mar next year.

How was the overall dinner in Conrad then, is it good?

Ahh, you've got quite some time left for planning then. I honestly found the dinner one of the easiest things to plan for because alot of things could be outsourced to the hotel.

The biggest headache was seating arrangements! We had a printer and laptop set up so that mitigated things a little but we were still sorting names out at 4pm!

My friends and I generally appreciate the consistency of service quality with the Conrad. Both at weddings and during non-wedding visits. ;)

Guess you are right then, still have a lot of things to plan like the actual day photographer and engagement of band etc.......

Sure that arrangement of seats will be the most tedious then

So i guess the overall dinner in Conrad is great then

Good to hear that

Hi all,

i had the red and black theme for my dinner on 18th... the top-up has been increased to $700 now (coz the roses are supposed to be bigger). However Catheryn has kindly offered us the option to stick to the $500 range (smaller flowers)... Love the red and black theme very much! We had glass showplates at every guest's table, displaying the menu. Food was great too, as feedbacked from the guests.. Overall we're very pleased with the service from Conrad...
Hope to get a chance to attend a dinner there again hehe..

I believe sunflower was referring to something like this. Hotels usually provide 1 menu on each table to be shared. Top up amount is quite minimal and is usually worked as part of a bigger top up package.

Hi Geraldine

The photos that you are using were from our wedding back in Conrad in Sept 06. If you scroll to the earlier archives of this thread, we have already uploaded these photos.

We had used the Black/Red theme during our wedding and I believe our wedding was the first 'black theme' wedding done by Conrad according to our coordinator then. It has subsequently been added subject to a top-up amt for the red roses on the tables.

Please feel free to upload photos of your own wedding to share with everyone here (if you wish), but we would appreciate it very much if we were the ones who shared our own photos at our own time & space. I am sure you would want the same sort of privacy accorded.

Since its has already been done, no worries, but please refrain from posting future photos of our wedding. Should fellow forumers want to see photos of our wedding at conrad, I am sure they can approach us.

Thank you.

hi momo18,

yes u have to top up for the glass showplates.. we added that coz we wan the guests to have a personalised menu. U can also include some thank-you msg, or some poems underneath the showplates if u wan... gotta print it urself ya... =)

Hi Garcia,

My sincerest apologies.

My intentions were primarily to 'help' others but in my eagerness, I failed to observe the basic rule of privacy. And for that, I honestly and sincerely extend my apologies to you.

I never intended to pass these pictures off as my own (I indicated "Source: Unknown" in the titles of the pictures) and regret any distress or unhappiness I've caused you.

(I'd amassed a small number of pictures during my wedding preparation process and honestly was unable to keep track of them after a while. While some were from open sources like websites, there were others which had been passed on to me by other Forumers etc.)

Still, there's no excuse for that and I should have exercised more discretion. I trust you understand there was never any malicious intent on my part.

It won't happen again.

Your understanding and generousity in sharing is appreciated.

wow..........think will just stick to the original one hahah

Spoke to my coordinator and mentioned that there might be a few more themes coming up and who's know, might not need to top up money for the black and red theme too

Keep my fingers crossed

HI gals,

I just have my banquet at Conrad on 6 of August.
I am not a satisfied client.

There are many hiccups during the banquet.
1)Fish is still not fresh despite same comments given after food tasting.-They do not take our comments to heart and into consideration.

2)Seating arrangements is messed up and there are fewer seats on the VIP and Bridal Table-Disastrous, my father in law was commenting imagine after the march in, the bride has a seat and there wasnt any seats for the groom.

3)They even left out the wedding favours on the two VIP tables and some guest tables-Evidently, they do not do a final check before guest turn up
sad.gif
This shold not happen at all.

4)Trainee Waiters were used and they portion out the food without letting the guests see the display of food.-No service and etiquette displayed

5)Sharkfins and portion of food that we have paid, not served when there are empty seats(invited guests that did not turn for the banquet)on the table.-I have check with my co-ordinator she mentioned that it has to be given out regardless the guests is there or not.

Overall, I am very unhappy with the service and the remarks that I have gathered from the guests. I do not want to blow up this matter cos' wedding is a joyous event.

I would hope couples that already booked or considering to have ur celebration at COnrad. Pls ensure that ur co-ordinator would help and not cause such a BIG blunder on your big day.

Did anyone request for a helping room cos i forgot to request for it and i doubt that they will entertain me since i had already paid the deposit i reckon

Hi Babybbsg,

We just had our wedding banquet at Conrad on 15th Sept 07. Everything was wonderful and excellent. And our guests were raving about the food and service.

Catheryn (not spelt as "Catherine") was our co-ordinator for the event. She was wonderful, attentive and meticulous down to every small little details.

Are you sure that your co-ordinator is Catheryn and is she the same point of contact / person that you had liased for your banquet down to the very day of your wedding banquet?

Cos I do not believe that she will make such blunders especially on the seating arrangements as she is very experienced and had been with the hotel for many years. She was also our co-ordinator for our Solemnisation Ceremony at the Salon by The Pool in Sept 2005 and it was also wonderful. That's why we chose Conrad for our wedding banquet venue.

You should give the hotel your feedback if you are so unsatisfied with the service and food so that the hotel can improve on the areas.

Hi Twink

Congrat on your wonderful wedding held in Conrad.

What theme did you acutally use for your wedding, would appreciate some feedback

Thanks a lot

Hey all, conrad is one of my shortlist hotels, but reading from the thread it seems that Conrad is not generous with their perks. Plus having to top up just to change to red roses, roses are cheap what, I mean not like orchids or lily. Btw is the chinese food done by golden peony?

Hi momo18,

Sorry for the late reply. I just got back from our honeymoon.

We had chosen the bronze organza overlay on white cloth for the tables and had upgraded to red roses.

The combi was wonderful! The guests loved the red roses and some even took it home with them!

Bronze organza on black cloth look as good too but we could not use black cloth due to the elders.. If I do not remember wrongly, Conrad might be getting some new red velvety overlay for banquet that will go very well on black cloth. That is, if your elders do not mind the black.

Jojo - the top-up for the red roses is not just change of colour. The flower arrangement for the table will also be different and more elaborate from the normal package hence the cost.

Yes. The chinese food are done by Golden Peony chefs. Food tasting will be held at Golden Peony.
My guests raved about the food served at the banquet, the feedback that I got most was that the food was 1 of the best wedding dinners that they ever had.

You will need to check with Conrad if they have any promotions, I remember they had a tied-up with AMEX 1-2years back that had discount for each table. You will need to negotiate for the perks with your co-ordinator before you sign the contract. I think that is the norm for all hotels regardless of which one you go to.

Good Luck on your wedding preparations! But I am sure you won't regret if you sign up with Conrad for they are really professional and provide excellent service. They will guide you along the way.

are there any bargains possible that we can ask for? anyone has ideas? coz i met up with my coordinator yesterday but not sure if i should jump in to book even though i liked the place quite a lot.

anyone can guide?

Twink (twink).. mind sharing what are some perks that we can ask for, or rather what u managed to get? did you use their centenial suite for 2 nites?

i;m not sure what else i could ask... thanks a lot in advance.

Hi Twink

Trust that you had a great time during your honeymoon too and thanks for your reply

I went down to Conrad to look at the set up for the black theme last week actually and my coordinator did mentioned that there will most propably be some new themes coming up next year so i just keep my options open till this december when i do my printing for the invitation card then.

Daphne

All the requests are quite standard like the request for two nights stay but unfortuately i forgot to request for the helper room and have to exchange my one year's anniversity voucher for that. I find that it not really worthwhile as the room is only for use till before the dinner start. Well......guess like what Twink mentioned, the actual day coordination will outweight all the small little perks that we do not get.

momo18.. which suite are they giving you? one year anniversary voucher? u mean they gave u another nite stay for your anniversary? that's sweet!

ooh sorry i mean the one year anniversity's meal which is the standard clause in the agreement.

Just the bridal suite but my coordinator mentioned that she will let me have the presidential suite if it is available. I only remember that after i sign the agreement though

momo.. who is your coordinator.. the problem i have now is that there is a tentative booking for the date i'm looking at.. so i have less room for negotiation...

i'm also using their facilities for my solemization.. still undecided which room i'll be using though..

oh i see for me i am more flexible for the dates that i choosen so there is still room for negotiation

I am also having my solemization on the day of my dinner too and my contact includes a room for my solemization too. I am not too sure which room too as i am not too concerned with that

audrey, the per table is about 1138 for 12pax.. after tax will be approximately 113 for each guests.. hope this little piece of info is useful.. i'm pretty lost too.. haha..

Conrad brides, which bridal studio did u gals take?

Hi Daphne, may i know if they let you use the function room for free? I actually requested from jeannie before, but she wants to incurr charges for the room.

hmmm.. depends on which one u are looking at.. for the grand salon, there's a hefty charge of 2k.. as for the others like salon I to IV.. i remember it was complimentary..

i have yet to decide on conrad actually.. coz my family is naggin at me for the fact that per pax is way to high and i'll have to pay a huge sum to cover if you know what i mean..

hi

Jeannie did not charge me anything for the complimentary use of the room so i guess mine should be the standard salon i to iv then

Hi... can someone tell me if this is correct? next year's weekday package is 928+++ rite? Plus tax (1.17%) then divide by 12 is 78.2 per head rite not??? I'm blurred...how come it seems cheaper than other 5 or 4 star hotels?
