Confused....pls help

Hi all,i need some advices from you guys. I'm a Singaporean gal and my bf was a Malaysian guy who is working in spore with work permit. We intend to get married but i'm so confused and helpless cos alot of ppl mentioned that i cant married a malaysian guy in spore. Does that mean that we have to get married in Malaysia?
