Firstly u need to identify ur budget.. Some brides i know give their jie-meis accessories/jewellery to match their attire for the gate-crashing. Others buy their dresses for their jie-meis, or get them to tailor make with the same material/colour but different designs. Others just give APs.

Just identify how much u want to spend & when u work within tt constraint, u can definitely find sthg suitable. Personally i feel get functional pressies rather than decorative types.. Just a thot

For the wedding, it wld cost abt $700, but if u dun require the organist, it shd go down to $620 ($200 for cleaners, some amt for the AV person & i think the rest shd be to church)

Are u in a CG & have regular attendance? Coz the church is rather particular abt letting couples hold the wedding in PLMC & members get priority for booking the sanctuary

Where did u go for the shots with u & ur FH taken against a window, which more or less featured the silhouette & not the details of ur faces? Gives a really romantic touch..

i dun have a CG in PLMC. my hubby is a catholic. i dunno how i can actually try on my end to have him hold the weddin in PLMC as his famili are all catholics. and though we are attendin PLMC, i m still with my prev CG at FCBC. my hubby want a CG oni after our wed in may 06 as he doesnt wan any change to the church venue

forgot to also mention, to marry in PLMC u need to attend the marriage prep course with PLMC or with married couples approved by the church. anyway i dun think it is advisable to change ur venue at this moment, coz it's not too far off fr ur big day & i figure any last min changes which are going to be major wld rock ur boat in terms of ur preps.

It's up to u get a videographer for the church HM.. Consider tt wld be the only time ur dad walks u down the aisle & hearing u & ur FH saying the vows & ur thanksgiving speech, sthg tt wun ever repeat! I wun really give recommendations here, i think mine cld have done a much better job. U might want to get reviews fr the Videography thread

Hi mag, Thomson baptist is 2k for rental. but didnt like it cos of the non air con indoor reception area. when i was there, it was really hot.the chapel was ok. but i must say the location is very convenient.

why not have a floor vase with those long dried 'twigs' in it? and get your friends to write love-notes and tie the love notes to the dried plants... or if you can find a big glass bottle, get your friends to stuff their love notes into it (but will be problematic trying to get the notes out)

Mag: i agree that the outer facade of the outside of AMKMC is a little old, but ur guest spend most of their time inside the church, in the sanctuary and the hall behind for reception, so i think ur guest will barely notice the outside.. I'm from there but i dont worship in the sanctuary for my services, only time i go to sanctuary is for weddings and combinded services. And the sanctuary is so nice and cosy (esp with stained glass) and with the merry atomsphere after the solomnization, with everyone enjoying themselves in the hall, i dont really quite bother about the outside..
And location is good... easy to find. Many non member couples choose AMKMC cos of location..
Rental is $800 if i am not wrong. Sanctuary can sit up to 500- 600 pple

It's def possible to work within $200 for the entire deco. Do keep in mind tt TTC chapel isn't tt big, so u dun have to do major works. Moreover the focal pt of the chapel is the stained glass & the natural lighting thru the full length windows really do help in making the whole place quite bright

U can def still have flowers, but u shd check out with ur budget what species wld be available to u. Go Far East Flora at Thomson Rd to get them at wholesale rates & head to Arab street to either get tulle/organza materials or satin ribbons.

Having attended 2 weddings at TTC, i think the white walls cld go very well with yellow, green, pink, orange, lilac... Go check out the vendors & then let ur imagination stretch to its fullest

i did not go punggol lalang bcos of the blood sucking insect instead i went to Marina South....heeheehee.....

My BS is Graceful Image and the window scene is taken at their studio located at Stamford house...even those colonial backdrop also consider indoor shots at stamford house....the in house photographer did bring us to many places cos he just stop along the way when he see nice scenery.....(actually all the outdoor location is suggested by him, i onli wanted to go Marina South).....

me just met the pastor...wow...he asked FH & me to memorise the vows....then he also want us submit an action plan for my AD church wedding and do some budgetting excerise. In addition, he is very strict and does not allow any photo taking /movement during the ritual......

he also suggest i get a videographer to tape the whole process as memorance......

Wedding is sure a serious thing......

YY: I think most methodist pastors are that strict about no movement.. Pastor stanley only allows photographers within a 5m radius and not allowed to go up on stage when couple is not on stage.
Which i think is a good idea, cos i really hate it when there the couple is, at the stage reciting their vows, exchanging rings, etc, and they invite their loved ones and friends to witness and share their joy.. how to share when i see the photographers back all the time!?

Memorizing vows should be easy lah. i hear so many times at methodist weddings liao i also can rememebr liao, but i guess it may be a diff story on AD.. kan cheong until forget everything..

can i ask those of u who are done with ur AD or ur food tasting already... My side is christian, fh is christian too, but his parents arent. I think some of u experience this too right. I wanna have the food tasting during the 7th month. COs there will be little weddings and the chef will be free to get our feedback but i dunno if non christians will be pan tan about it?
I cant do it earlier, cos it will be too early (AD is in Dec) but this year i heard got two 7th months, by the time its over its sept already. wanna know if holding food tasting then will have any implications for non christians?
