Hi Andrea
Ya I think we'll just coordinate with Cynthia la. Helps that either she or Philip can do the announcement. My bro is the coordinator so he'll have to figure this out with her! heehee..

Hope yr wedding prep is gg on well! :p

Hi can someone share their mass booklet with me? Thanks.

I am a St Theresa btb, just wondering did anyone engaged their florist or outsourced your own florist and about how much did you spent on your church deco?

Hi Christina,

Not sure if the rules at St Teresa has changed. I engaged my own florist (mum's fren, so it was FOC). Only thing was, Bernadette, the sacristan, would only open the church doors for flower arrangement at certain particular times, which I felt was not convenient to us at all (either too early - then it'll be quite long before mass time the next day, or too late - florist gotta work a bit OT to set it up). and the time frame given is not exactly very long either. Hopefully all that has changed since my wedding 2 yrs ago.

HI CSI Fan and Andrea,

Thanks your advice and thanks for your email. My mass is at 3pm and before that someone is holding their wedding mass at 11am so I think the florist I engaged only have a window of time to arrange the flowers. The only thing is whether St Theresa has restrictions on areas where I can place the flowers. Haiz...sianzzzz..so hard to coordinate from overseas...

Wow... most brides are going to St Teresa's.
I would love to have my church service there... BUT.. i think its a little far from my wedding lunch at Hilton. So shall stick to having it Sacred Heart. Any of you been to a Sacred Heart Church Wedding before?

I've sung for a wedding at Sacred Heart Church before. It's not all too bad. I just don't like the church's neon lights.. its so Las Vegass!

Only, I don't think you're early actually.. usually weddings are planned about a year in advance, as places are booked up around then (venues are the first to get settled). So I always advise friends that they may not get much choice of venues if they don't book early (i.e. about a year in advance). Good luck though!

Hi gals,

could i check how long is it to hold a mass vs a service? i know the only difference btw the 2 is service has no holy communion. wld it be weird not to have a holy communion? mine's on a friday afternoon @ St Teresa Church.

raine24

Hi jade, a mass is abt an hour, while a service could be as short as half an hour, depending if there's communion or not. The service doesn't have many other parts of the mass too, not just the communion rite. There's liturgical reasons why a mass or service is chosen for that couple on that day. It depends on the bridal couple, as well as depends largely on the priest presiding. Sometimes the priest doesn't allow the couple to have a mass if one of the two getting married is not a catholic. Best to check with your priest.

Hi all, was wondering whether a gown with an all lace back (i.e. translucent) is appropriate for a church wedding? Would appreciate your thoughts!

Thanks!

Hi eureka, black usually go for "mourning" but if it is a design, i think it is OK. If you worry, check with your priest. If he is Ok, then you are all Good =) however i think you better check wtih your parents / in laws more likely they would be the people who would be upest wtih black.

Uh.. I think eureka said all lace back, not dress in black.

Eureka - it all depends on the priest, how open minded your guests are. My priest is quite strict, he's asking me to cover up my shoulders in church, as my dress is a strapless sweetheart neckline dress. As a result I'm having a bolero custom made by my designer to match my gown.
