Color: colorless
Carat: 1RD 0.2, 10RD 0.3
Clarity: eye clean

it is going to my be 10 years anniversary with my missus in a few months time and i like to get her a nice 1-ct solitaire ring and my budget is 10K, maybe can stretch a bit by 10-15%. Does any one have any recommendations preferrably with prices? i already gotten her a 0.7-ct 6 years ago and for this 10 yr celebration, i like to be able to finally get her a 1-ct one. thank you!

Im lost between a 1 carat (asia certifed) with the setting I like at $6k and a 1.01 carat with GIA not the setting I like at 8.4K F VS2, which one will you all buy?

The problem is the setting. How can I 'copy' setting?

Maybe you can go customize the setting with the carat u like .. And usually diamond dealer is cheaper then the big brands .. I went to jannpaul for my customize proposal ring .. There are quite few if customize diamond ring dealer .. Do a search and you may find a ur perfect ring
 
Can consider eclarity. Got my wedding band there and also
My fiancé got my engagement ring there.. He bought mine 0.6 carat but it look bigger than that and it's nice too.. So far, I'm happy with eclarity service and the rings.. For eclarity, they will ask u anyone intro and if u give the name, there will be discount

I saw the Brilliant Rose.. wasn't too impressed with it and the price. For the same budget, we could get a better specs elsewhere.
My HTB got my ring from JannPaul. He did customized ring with them.. my center diamond is abit different from the traditional round. It is a cushion diamond with hearts and arrows.

Thanks. I went around more to compare. I went to JannPaul too and saw their Solasfera diamond. It's cut even more times with 91 facets. What is your cushion with hearts and arrows diamond? Didn't see it.
 
I had my wedding jewelry customized. Was very happy with the results, 'cos we could mix and match designs that I like.:) you gals should consider too!

I placed a deposit on the Cushion Brellia in the end. :)

The Solasfera is impressive but I thought the cushion shape is abit more cute and unique. Plus it goes with the setting I want better.. Going to customize my setting too.

They sent me these photos of my diamond. Does it look ok?

Yes. Cushion is more unique. Good choice. It will be nice with a halo around it as well. What kind of setting are you opting for?
 
Personally do not really fancy the two diamonds beside the cushion. But you would understand your girl better. :)

Have not collected mine. Its an eternity wedding band with 2/3 small diamonds around the ring. It costs abt 1.4k. I enquired abt a similar design at lee hwa or goldheart. It costs about 3.6k.

Do you have the diamond specs? Eg. The clarity range of the small diamonds and also the no. of diamonds and the total carat weight?

Also what metal did you use for the ring?

Total carat weight of the loose diamonds around 0.5. Colour should be from E to G as it needs to match with the solitaire which is a D colour (if worn together). The rest i did not really ask. Should have asked more. A bit jaded with all the shopping. White gold metal for the band. Hope this helps. :)

Sprinkle21, i m no expert in diamonds too. However, i have heard alot of good reviews about JannPaul. My colleagues all bought from jp and recommended me there.

You might wan to give it a try. Heard that they provide a free diamond education session =)...

If your girlfriend is brand-conscious, just go into tiffany & co or cartier.
If she's not, can consider JannPaul or Fairies Inc. Both will be able to give you a crash course (2-3 hours depending on how well you want to understand) and their diamonds are value-for-money as compared to mass market stores like Sookee/Leehwa. Best is, they don't hardsell at all, so you won't be pressured to make a purchase on the spot.
 
I have looked through jp fb page and saw lots of beautiful ring design. My dilemma now is those with side stones or just plain ones.

How you all choose the design?

I like simple designs. So I hinted my bf for a plain band.
Also, if the solitaire is huge and sparkly enough, a plain band will do and won't "snatch" the limelight.

I picked my own ring out - after looking at many shops and doing my own research. I read the pricescope website in case you wanna know.

I think most importantly, is knowing what styles you like and will suit your lifestyle. I have a friend who bought a 2.15 carat solitaire diamond ring (because she said, "better take as big as possible because my bf can afford it now") but she never ever wears it out. Leaves me wondering what is the point. Haha.

Anyway just look around and try the rings in the shops. Don't need to buy, just try and when you find something that you really like, ask for quotes from other retailers selling similar designs and you will eventually manage to pick something that you like.

Perhaps you can start with a budget first. Haha good luck!
