hi jl,

if u r toking abt buying clothes from the boutiques n dept stores.... the price is almost the same as spore.

unless if u wanna buy from siam sq, mbk, chat market, etc.... usually comes in free sizes for tops. usually not convenient to try on bottoms unless if they r the small shops in siam sq or mbk.

sometimes along the linkway at siam sq, there r some ppl who sell some clothes (those place on floor mats one) same design as those in siam sq but abt half the price only.

i was recommended by a local the other time to check out baiyoke garment centre/ tower. that is a wholesale centre, i heard. i din hv time to go during the prev trip so this time die die must go! cheap but u hv to purchase at least half a dozen. i heard from a fren tat she bought half a dozen, but managed to negotiate for diff colours n designs. same applies for shoes as well.

hi guys..
i am visiting BKK this xmas..
though is my 3rd time but i might wan to visit the temples this time round..
i know tat cannot wear sleeveless n bottoms must be below kneecap, isit true?
how about footwear?
i intend to wear slippers there? is it allowed?

Hi, trazz

The last time i gone to bangkok, i did visited one of the famous temple.
Actually i wore a bermudas and tank top, but to be more respectful to the buddha there, i put on my jacket before i went in. We need to take off our footwear before entering the temple, thus footwear isn't a problem.
Actually most temples got displayed notice outside the temple for tourists regarding the dress code, wearing more conservative is better, as there are holy places after all. Hope this helps.

hi hi,

Hi,
I'll be visiting BKK end Dec... does anyone know what time the Suan Lum night mkt closes? Does it open every night?

hi all,

Wow, only manage to read some of the threads.

Now know more about the Hotel and Shopping centre. Seem like Hotel Asia is the most popular and recommended.

Anyone know whether from Bangkok Airport can take flight to Krabi?

Anyway, does Krabi has aiport?

Hi,

My hubby thinking of going for the ah-gua show, cause he had not watched any b4. But we do not know where to go and how to book the tickets.
Anyone can help us?
Lots of thanks in advance.

hi ohstrawberry,

I book the ticket through my tour guide when I was in Phuket. Actually you can try to ask the hotel, and they will recommend you those legal one.

By the way, don't go to those underground one. waste of money.

hihi..
got a question here..
is there anything tat we cant bring back to spore? cos my travelmates scare that due to the bird flu, we cant bring back those meat/chicken floss stuff. can those just came back from BKK advise? tks ;p

Thanks miracle!

Got one more thing to ask... did anyone attend those compulsory gala dinner (during christimas or new yr's eve) at bangkok hotels before? how much additional did u have to pay, and was it worth it?

I'm going BKK over the new yr's eve period, and many hotels have this compulsory gala dinner, which costs as much as S$100 per person!

now having a hard time finding accommodation without tt compulsory dinner.... Anyone caught in the same situation?

thanks dear_dear... (sound like calling my bf ;p)

anyone care to share whats the exchange rate you are getting now?

Thanks jas.
As we booking the air tickets and hotel ourselves, so no agent. I heard that there's one at Asia Hotel, i'll check with the hotel staffs when we're there then. Thanks anyway.

hi serene! it's at the other escalator, near to the customer service counter.

Hi Ohstrawberry,

Yes, WTC is the 'old' name of Central World Plaza..

i've heard tat the people in Bangkok bery fond of changing names for hotels & buildings...
lame.gif

fyi, personally feel tt there are nothing much to shop in Central World Plaza except Naraya, Zen, Isetan (for underwear) and restaurants at the upper floors.

Yupz, i agree tt at these shopping malls, the only things worth getting wld be the undergarments. When i was at Zen, I found Charles and Keith in the shoe department, and they are so over-priced. Even at MBK, Siam Center, VNC was almost double the price as compared to S'pore.

Chatuchak is a must check-out place.. Many interesting and IN stuff, and the material used for clothes can be quite gd.

i changed to Thai baht at Ppl's park @ 23.8, 2 wks ago

When i first booked my package in Nov, the rate at Ppl's park was 24.x.. How I wished I had changed back then

but if i am not mistaken, Golden Mile usually has very gd rates...

Ohstrawberry,
U r welcome
