Hi all experts of BKK,

can I check with you how is the bargaining like over at the various shopping places in BKK? I jus came back fm BKK over the weekend trip and found that unlike what i read fm some websites, the prices there are pretty much non-negotiable except for the odd 99 baht or so. I was wondering if it was bec I only bought 1 or 2 pieces each or was it bec of my poor bargaining skills?

pls share your experiences with me..

Hi droopy,

U r welcome. Initially I booked at Grand Diamond which is near Baiyoke Sky but decided to change to Novotel becos I heard its much nearer to BTS.

Btw, I have managed to get THAILAND VISITOR CARD. It a discount card accepted at 3,000 locations in Thailand (BKK, Phuket, Ko Samui ...) to be used with Visa card.
I have extra cards .. so first come first serve.
I prefer to meet up to pass the card rather than waste on postage. Most likely at Harbourfront or Dhoby Ghaut around 5.50-6.15pm.

Hi sweetheart,

The Thailand Visitor Card 2005 is a discount card that entitles card holders to discounts of between 5 to 30% at almost 3,000 participating establishments

hi

I got the card from a friend who got it from friend (I think working in the embassy). I think its the same card as the one Skywolf got.

Discounts at some shopping centres. If I don't remember wrongly, I think Emporium, Siam Discovery are the particpating centres. Don't have anymore with me at the moment so I cannot confirm.

hi lynn n fan!

I can meet u all on Friday. What about Harbourfront Station or Dhoby Ghaut NEL ? Plaza Singapura is also fine with me.

We can discuss the time later. Fan, can you leave me your email? I think it will be better instead of "flooding" this forum with our messages.

You're welcome.

Squidhead,

Yah, i think its the same card.

But then got to pay by visa leh... tricky coz visa will add in extra charges after converting rite? But then, its valid till 2006, so it's still useful~~

Hi everybody,
You can get the VISA discount card and maps from the Tourism Office at the Thai Embassy at Orchard Rd. You can go during their opening hours.

Alternatively, you can go to http://www.tourismthailand.org.sg/enewsletter.html to put in your particulars and they will mail you the map and discount cards within 3-5 days.

I went to their Tourism office to get the discount cards and i got their mail with the same discount cards and maps a few days later 'cos i had register it earlier on...

Hi fan, chloef, rainnie, lynn and racherlle,

Do you gals still want to meet up or as Twink said, can get the cards mailed to you from Thai Embassy which I think it would be more convenient for some of you.

Do let me know :-D
