Appalling experience with Memoir Click Studio & Live Life Pictures

Hello all,

We are a newly-wedded couple who resides in the UK and had recently had our wedding ceremony and reception held in Carcosa Seri Negara, Kuala Lumpur in January 2014.

If any of you Singaporean couples have heard of, and are considering engaging the photography and videography services of Memoir Click Studio & Live Life Pictures from JOHOR, due to their considerably lower charges in comparison to the average market price, let me forewarn you - YOU PAY CHEAP FOR EVEN CHEAPER SERVICES with them.

Now, Memoir Click Studio deals with photography while Live Life Pictures deals with videography. One of the main reasons why we had engaged Memoir Click Studio was the fact that my other half is a photographer himself and would rather do the editing of photos - so really, all we are after is a photographer who would be willing to hand over all the raw photos for our processing (which not many top/experienced photographers would even consider). Memoir Click Studio, however, readily agreed.

When we had received the photos, much to our disappointment, the photographer had used the wrong aperture in quite a lot of the group shots resulting in out-of-focus faces, not to mention a lot of the photos were taken from an awkward angle which weren't at all flattering. To be fair to them, this probably reflects their cheap charges and like I said when you pay cheap here, you get cheap products which means in the end you get what you have paid for. Your wedding day is your once in a life time event, is it worth the risk for? You decide.

Now the most appalling part of their services has to do with the videography side (Live Life Pictures - Chong H** Y*** being the main videographer). To put simply, think endless empty promises. My highlight (same day edit) video which should have been delivered on the actual day itself, were delayed to a month later, and that was after much chasing and several stern emails. I was adviced by a videographer friend who works with Stories.my that the standard time frame to deliver the full length video is 2 months. I gave them allowance beyond their due date to complete my full video and I was then promised that my full length video would be done and delivered on so and so date, and again there would be no news from them for 2 weeks later until I questioned about it. Then I would be given the response that it will be delivered on so and so date, but nothing will be done about it. You get the picture.

As a client, nobody likes to keep chasing for things that should have been delivered on time and then to be given empty promises again and again. Especially not when it has to do with your wedding day! As my other half and I live abroad, they have agreed to deliver the CDs to my parents' address in Muar (which is also where this team is based). Eventually, after being messed about for weeks, I lost my last shred of patience with them and called them UNETHICAL. Within an hour, they quickly delivered the CDs to my address in Muar, not even bothering to hand deliver them to my parents whilst they were both in, but choosing to threw the CDs into the letterbox!!!

I can only conclude that this team of people (especially Live Life Pictures) are the most unethical, unprofessional, and unreliable wedding vendors I have heard of, who are incapable of upholding promises they have made to their clients and delivering their work on time. I had so much frustration dealing with them which could all have been avoided if they had practiced some work ethics! I wish someone had adviced me not to 'gamble' when it comes to choosing the vendors for my wedding day.
 


Hi sharon, refer to ur post. Actually i just spoke to owner of Live Life pIcture and considering them for our actual wedding day. Now i feel have to think several times to engaged them
 
Worst Experience with Memoxxs Clixx studio and Lixe Lixe Pictures

Our wedding is on 17th May2014

Memoxxs Clixx Studio deals with photography (by Albxxx Goh) while Lixe Lixe Pictures deals with videography (by Chong Hxx Yxxx. And third person involve is a girl Who setup photobooth/ backdrop for us call Ng Lxx Yxxx , AKA Ah Ng in Facebook , she is the girlfriend of Videographer Chong Hxx Yxxx , while photographer Albxxx Goh is a childhood friend of my husband.

At First we only engaged Photographer Albxxx Goh and Videographer Chong Hxx Yxxx. As I saw some nice photobooth in Taiwan website and feel might to have one in my wedding reception. Hence, I and my husband start research on it, no doubt we will ask our Photographer and Videographer for recommendation. We also met another girl called Danise , which price she quoted it‘s above our budget. Videographer Chong Hxx Yxxx, offer us as her girlfriend showed interest to take care of it, and she was looking to start her business in this line soon.

A sample photo of preferred design was send to Videographer Chong Hxx Yxxx , to let his gf Ah Ng go through. I highlight that I prefer my design similar to the sample photo but in Tiffany blue. Start from 25th Dec 2013, me and NG start to discuss the deco/design for photo booth over fb.

3rd Feb 2014 , 4th day of Chinese New Year (Chu4) , me and husband meet up with Ng and Albxxx Goh to discuss design of the photo booth and she provide us a rough design by hand on a piece of paper . In the meeting, she said will come out a proposal gave me a better idea.
16th Feb 2014 , I asked Ng "how is it the proposal going on, still got other design I can choose from/ or change part of deco ?"

she replied " Hi, fyi, we actually customised every design to each client’s according to the theme of their wedding. Therefore she is unable to make any amendment (in my mind, I start to think why I can’t request to change the deco while nothing is finalize yet)

She shut me down immediately and said she will assemble elements and present it to me for a clearer picture bla..bla..bla... and said will send the reference elements by incoming Wednesday ." On the promised Wednesday evening, she msg me say that she cant make it and it will be done by end of that week.

Well, weeks after weeks there wasn’t any update , so i gotta chase her for update as date are closing in. she replied by saying her file corrupted and need to redo. Later date I received her proposal which was simply a square box with some drawing on it. Totally different from her initial proposed design on 3rd Feb, we emphasize that we want to stick to the initial design which is propose by her.

26 Feb 2015 , we finalize on her initial propose design so she can go ahead to purchase the material. I asked about estimated date of completion, as I plan to settle everything related to photo booth by end of April, due to actual wedding on May which we certainly will be super busy. She reply she will only start a week before 10th May 2014, which is 3th of May. Told her I would like to settle as soon as possible as I have no time when closing to my wedding date.

She assured there will be no issue , since I had approved the concept , and sure nothing will go way too wrong. She also agree to finish by end of April.

I request for below mentioned schedule and work flow as we are way too insecure,
1/4/14 see all the material and accessories use
15/4/14 start doing
30/4/14 complete the photo booth
10/5/14 we go back hometown Muar for Guo Da Li and view the complete photo booth

She reply she got other jobs on hands and cannot comply all the time frame I requested but she reassure to let us see all the accessories' photo by 30 April 2014, and she will set up for trial and will take photo for me.

At this point ,our conversation from 25th Dec 2013 to 2nd March 2014, she only show us the 2 pcs of drawing and no photo of the material for photo booth . I request to have a look on accessories , material or element, she declined our request with tons of excuse to push me away and even come up with:

“The process need to go through a few stage before she can show us anything. She said some of the accessories is DIY , she unable to show us. (she cant even DIY a paper flower to let us have a peep)

She didn't show any urgency while handling our job, and always push us away and always want us to compromise to her schedule/ timeframe and design. ( to this point, I really not sure who are the customer here.)

Eventually we are really insecure and uncomfortable, the lead to the thoughts of cancel it. After my husband and photographer Albxxx Goh discuss about this matter, Albxxx Goh told my husband Ah Ng is the protective kind of person and not good in conversation, the accessories purchase also need time to ship to Muar, Albxxx Goh mentioned Ng did one nice deco for a Café and compare to others, her charges is cheaper . After that discussion, we still stick to the plan and my husband will liaise with her. Only God know what is coming for us.

She agreed to setup trial run version photo booth by 30th April 2015 and show it to us by photo.

Follow by install the actual one to let us view it in person on 10th May 2015 (0ne week before our wedding) when we back to hometown. We also add on purchase some Tiffany and white colour balloons to deco the place.

On 30th April 2015, she send me the photo of accessories and she say unable to install the trial run photo booth as promised, due to they just move to the new studio. (How freaking convenience!!!!!!!!)

On 10th May 2015 , merely 1 week before actual wedding day, no update at all about the promised “ view the actual photo booth session”.
12th May 2015(Monday), during our wedding dinner banquet discussion with the restaurant manager, we check with manager that did Ng get in touch with restaurant about setup of photo booth? To our surprised, he said : NO …

On the spot we called NG, she said she did contact someone from the restaurant (but that someone she mentioned is not the manager at all) she seem do not have urgency on it, don’t even bother to coordinate the setup with restaurant side. When we asked to view the photo booth in person as per promised, she said it can only be done 2 days before actual day.


How in the hell we manage to salvage, if really there is some issues with the photo booth? With only 2 days before actual day…


“I guess that’s the whole idea, looks like we have to accept it no matter how ya.”


On 13th May 2015 (Tuesday), we ask Ah Ng can we view on tomorrow night, she reply YES .


On 14th May 2015 (Wednesday), we dropped by to studio for the actual photo booth, but what we get to see is all the accessories, which she already send by photo to me on 30th April 2015 and tell us the photo booth send for sewing. (Disappointed again)


While our main purpose for that trip is photo booth, she didn’t even bother to tell us that the photo booth is not there , and have us wasted a trip.


14th May 2015 (Thursday) night, my husband go to see the photo booth with his friend and show me the photo. It is absurd and nothing close to what we asked for/ what she promised in the first place.


15th May 2015(Friday) morning, I text her tell her the photo booth is not what I want, not even close to expectation.


All along the way, I keep emphasize to have it done earlier. So if there is anything not in place, we have ample time to fix it. But she insist I agree with the proposal, and I must comply with her condition.


The sample photo booth as reference, is a design with wall paper as background. But what she design is using 2 stainless steel stand to hang/pull the cloth from each side, looks like curtain in cinema, lay down on floor with wrinkle on it.


Worst part is,


“The so called background cloth, is using 2 pieces of cloth which is joint by sewing with a line in between. It is too obvious that we can even notice it with bare eyes.


She keep insist we agree with it, she said she did tell us that she will be using cloth as background, but who know she will just let it lay on floor (not even seal tightly), while looks like dirty cinema curtain… and she never tell me 2 stainless steel stand will be used on actual wedding location (which looks like camping site).


As the very next day will be the actual wedding day, I do not want to have argument with her. So I reply her in a nice way. Told her I decide not to install the photo booth due to it is really unacceptable. And I feedback things only done at very last minutes and left no time for amendments, we asked for partial discount as we do not need to installation anymore.


She keep push the blame to us, as said we agreed on it. Not even a single cents discounted, not even a step back she take. Well, we said fine. We will still make full payment, but we will not accept this type of attitude and standard.


The photo booth do not get to install at my wedding venue, even after full payment is done, due to the “Standard of work/design/attitude given was totally disaster.”

Another worried in my mind is if we not pay her in full, video and photography on the next day will it affected as well. As they are from the same team, we do not take any chances on anything, which might destroy our once in a life time event. That is what we are looking forward after so many years.

I requested for the accessories she had done send to us, we will deco it by ourselves in reception area.

Guess what??

We have to comply with her timing on when to send it over. When we asked how many items will be sending over (due to space constrained) She reply rudely, see for yourselves. It’s all here….

Our actual wedding day on 16May2015 Wedding Day.

On the next day which is 17th May2015, we cleared balance payment to photographer Albxxx Goh. Due to unpleasant scenario with Ng regarding the photo booth, out of good will he offered to prepare a photo album, for our actual wedding photo. As compensation for the whole scenario, and we gladly accept it. Even though photo booth didn’t make it, a photo album we will just make do with it.

From time to time, I prompt Albxxx for the progress of the Actual Album.

From May to end of the year 2014 , and he tell us he is very busy , always work until 2-3am, and say he will do when he is free and update me. As this is “OUT OF GOOD WILL COMPENSATION”, so I decide not so harsh to him.
I waited him for update, 6 months passes, my first wedding anniversary also passed, still no news.

Until recent date 14 June 2015, I decide to check with him the status. He reply me the voucher to make the album already expired, hence he “CANNOT compensate me.”

I don’t give a damn is it from some kind of deal which using voucher, or whatever other voucher he is referring to. And due to the voucher had expired, nothing he can do. A promise is a promise, and he break it. Such an irresponsible person!

And that trigger me to report my unpleasant + disaster + disappointed experience down here.

Looks like the whole team is same bunch of people…

To all my friend and couples out there, please be extreme caution when engage Memoxxs Clixx studio and Lixe Lixe Pictures, they could really spoil your mood, especially the day before your wedding day.

Always make empty promise, when the time come all kind of excuse will be given. No update about the process, and some other stuff they have on hand is always more important than you as their customer.

P.S…
I heard there is couple out there, only manage to collect their actual day photo 10 months later from the wedding day.

And some couple receive their actual day wedding photo, from mail box as the studio side are too busy to send it over in person.

To my friend out there, if you would like to find out who actually they are, you know what to do.

However, we sincerely regret we fell short of our goal for your big day.

Since the incident, we have implemented new processes and steps in order to ensure such a situation does not recur. Also, we had our work organised and thus so far, we are able to handover our product on time to each of every customer. As we realise that this does not make up for the time and effort already spent in this instance, but we do hope that it does in some way show how truly regretful we are in what you had been experiencing with us. You deserved better – a lot better – from us last year and we let you down. Nothing is more important than regaining your trust and all of us here hope you will give us the opportunity to sit down with you and to resolve the issue. Not forgetting to mention that we would also like to know who is the client whom we had their photos sent 10 months after their wedding day, which is the exception to the rule and not in keeping with our standards or expectation, so that we can show our sincere apology to them as well.

OMG?! What a horrible experience! That Ah Ng even go around fb to pm budget bride FB secret group lor! She also pm me. The rates are dubiously low, I didn't bother.
10 months after wedding! Don't bother. This is so horrible I'm so sorry for your horrible experience!! Damn. That must've been frustrating! Cannot deliver as promised, procrastinating, excuses, still dare to charge full price. Super Cannot stand this kind of horrible vendors. Ruin people's wedding day!
Can consider to post in budget bride fb group since that lady going around to prey on other unsuspecting potential clients... Wouldn't want anyone else to suffer this kind of nonsense
