My cs design is exactly like yours!! except for the positioning of the slit. Mine's in front.
From the pics, I can see that your v-shape neckline did not open up unsightly and expose your ermm... more intimate parts. How did you do that??!!?? Did you use fashion tape? From my fittings, I can't seem to keep the sides of the v-neckline down.

really? front slit is nice too! keke. i didnt managed to inform my seamstress that b4 she completed so just leave it at side slit. For the V shape opening infront, i did not tape anything, i just leave it open as it is. Maybe how low your opening also affect? Is yours high collar too? Did you have any chinese button at the collar? I have a chinese button at the collar so I can button up or leave it open.

hi sharky,
the workmanship for the EG is 200. Actually, the fabric is the killer..My EG fabric is fully beaded and 1 meter alone cost me ard $200! Anyway, bought only 1 meter for the top to save money and for the layered train it's chiffon.. Kim will charge more if it's beaded fabric because it's very tedious to sew them. She has to remove the beads 1st before she can sew on the cloth and later she has to touch up the beads.

She does not do design. If let's say you have particular design you want, is better to show her pic (if you see designs you like in magazine) or at least tell her what you want. Then she will sketch out and show you to see if what she understood of what you want correct. From experience, i feel is better to be specific like how you want the collar done, the back, the slit etc. For e.g, if you prefer front slit etc, then got to tell her, for me, mine is slitting at the side. sorry that i've missed out your question. The whole process from my 1st appt with Kim till I collected the dress is abt 3 months. But actually, she took roughly abt a week to make my dresses.
For kim, her schedule is quite flexible in a sense that if she can rush out the CS/EG for you,she'll take your job irregardless if your wedding is 2 or 3 months ahead. If not, she'll reject upfront. But do bear in mind that lunar 8th month is a hot period!

Because many chinese couples like to get hitched during that month for chinese believe that lunar 8th month is an auspicious month! So, Kim will have many dresses to rush out during that period.

I am another satisfied customer of Kim's. She made an absolutely beautiful baby pink fully beaded cheong sam for me. She charged me $150 workmanship (material I bought myself) for my dress. For my bridesmaid it's $90 (inclusive of material and workmanship)
Unfortunately I don't have a closeup pix of my cheongsam.

If you are looking for a good tailor for WG and EG, I'd strongly recommend Summer (designer's name) at The Arcade 3rd Flr. His shop's name is Hana. My sister had her wedding gown done there and it is superb!! His workmanship and beading work is just amazing. He doesn't do WG very much cos' every time he does it, it's always with so much hardwork. I suppose sometimes for the bridal shops, cos they churn out so many gowns every year, they might lose the attention to detail and designs can be run of the mill. My sister basically bought the best duchess satin she can find in S'pore and had him tailor it for her. My AD is Sept 05 and I'll be using her gowns cos' I can't find one as nice as hers anywhere else in S'pore. Strongly recommended!!!

yes, Kim does embroidery and beading. Not too sure how she charges though. Actually, if you like beadings and embroidery, I suggest that spend money to buy a nice embroidery fabric or beaded fabric rather that paying kim to do it. Trust me, you have more choices on the beads and embroidery!
Just check out Royal Fabric at Arab Street and you'll know what i mean!

don't have leh. But it's very easy to find cos Arab street is just 1 small street. Once you reach there, you just walk along the street and look for the shop "Royal Fabric". The "zao1 pai2" is blue in color.
