Any good SEAMSTRESS to recommend ?

hi woof

the actual workmanship does not take very long. Just 2-3 days & shd be done. but u've got to take into account fitting & making any adjustments to fit well. for a stress-free process for both urself & Kim, give her at least 2 mths k?

Kim charges $100 for the workmanship for normal materials. more difficult materials like Marilyn's wld be abit higher I guess. cost of the material wld be on your own..

all in all, it shd not be more than $200

hope this helps!

hi serene,

Kim is a seamstres not a designer =P For me, i brought all my magazine cuttings and drawings for her and she give comments and improvised the design from then onwards.

oh ok thanks Marilyn for the clarification. Couldn't follow the thread cos too far back

hi oraia,
Think Kim does normal going out (nice tops or pants) and working clothes but she seldom take the working clothes business though. She prefer to do gowns and dresses i think.. No harm checking with her though..

Hi Christine
can i see your CS ? - [email protected]

mehmeh,
i like your CS. didn't know it costs so much lesser to make it else where. I checked with a few bridal studio and they charged me $500 for a short CS. quite exp...

Hi momoko

Thanksthanks!
Yes, making CS with the bridal studios usually cost alot more. I think it's better to tailor-make it with a seamstress or tailor. Coz their focus is really on the details. Bridal studios usually have too many other aspects to focus on anyway. You get more personalised service.

Hi gals,

I want to retract my previous recommendation. Found someone even better with workmanship. She is really good. Wish someone would recommend to me earlier.

Yin Yin Fashion, 6226 2832, Tanjong Pager

Hi momoko,

Will send you photo later. Note my case is quite complicated. My gf recommended me to go to yin jie after seeing my dress. I got the dress tailored by seamstress A at another place. It was ok but my gf say something is still lacking. So i went to Yin Jie and she managed to make it look even better.

Sweetheart, its near the tanjong pager market, opp the amara hotel got some shophouse, Blk 1 Tg Pagar Plaza #02-16.

thanks christine, know where liao!

other than she does gown making, do u know whether she does alteration for normal clothes too? and how's her charges like?

sorrie for the many many qns!

Hi Christine,
u've got a very nice CS. Looks good on you.

By the way, where did you buy your material and what material is it? Did you buy 2 different cloth - one for the chest area and the other is for the body and downwards? How much did you pay for material and workmanship and who's your seamstress? sorry for asking so many questions :P

Hi momoko,

Thanks a lot, it took some effort to select the right fabic as well as design and get it tailored. But since i can keep it, might as well make a nice one. No worries about the question, i was anxious about mine previously as well.

I got my fabric from arab street. Its silk organza with embrodiery with beads and sequin. Its the same fabric but the chest area does not have lining underneath that's all. I paid about $150 for the fabics and a total of $250 for workmenship (long story, look at my previous posting). Go to yin yin fashion she is good ans quality is assured.

mehmeh,
tks for the info. Will go down to Arab St this weekend

christine,
for $150, does it include the cloth (i supposed it is satin) underneath the silk organza? How many metres did u buy for both the silk organza and the satin?

Hi Christine

Thanks! I think it's a great CS. Very glamorous & I must say the orchids for your ur hairdo make the whole look perfect!
