“There were elements about different gowns that I liked, but they weren’t all present in a single outfit, which made me ultimately decide to go with a customised gown by Pearlyn, as she inspired confidence in me from our very first meeting. I always had certain ideas of the look I was going for but I did’t know I had a “dream dress” until I put on the gown that Pearlyn designed for me on my wedding day!”

MUSE feature The Artist #1.
I didn’t name this dress and simply refer it as Roy Lichtenstein or The Artist #1, as the concept was simply inspired by his use of unique painting techniques.

Roy Lichtenstein, a great contemporary artist that makes an enormous impact on Pop art culture.

Here’s my rendition of Roy’s work, but of course using fabrics, yarns, and all types of beads that I know best.

Like his work, I have thick black outlines using yarns to defined the strong, bold contrasting color-fabrics, and different types of beads and pieces to achieve his signature dots and lines. Turning a simple hand-drawn 2D flowers into a piece of my depiction of Pop art.

This piece is not for sale but is an experiment of me trying to put art into a wearable form. I hope there are many more of such projects to come in the near future.

Lace.
Beautiful and delicate. Some were even adorned with intricate beads and crystals.
Using lace on a wedding gown required an understanding of aesthetic value, skills, and a whole lot of patience. Lacking any of these would result in a gown appear uninspired, just like a cake with no flavor - @amandaluvchocolat
