Hi Sally,

we got roller blinds cos its easier to maintain as compared to curtains which I had to wash every week previously at old flat. I also got the pole from Ikea previously but it wasnt very solid and kept dropping so I opted for convenient this time round.

Initially I also dont like roller blinds but my colleagues told me that just need to vaccum and or use a damp cloth to clean over. hehe.....

no more washing of curtains.

Hi Pauline,

Sorry that I cannot share with you as my house have not yet done up.Still in the searching of I.D.

but I can share thins regards to wedding as mine already over.:p

Hi hello,

Is it? I thought roller blinds will accumlulate dust, then they will become very dirty. You know what I mean...I saw Ikea have the panel curtain...I don't know what the name. Is saw it in the Ikea lastest catelogue.Very nice.

Hi Sally,

hmm......it'll get dusty so gotta clean often but easier to clean as compared to curtains since roller blinds is a whole piece ...roman blinds much difficult to clean. Anyway curtains also would get dusty and have to wash constantly when dust accumulates on it. Nevertheless, curtains can better doll up the house as u can choose many different types of prints. Try not to get those too heavy as it'll add weight to the pole and also makes washing a headache.

Now got no maid so gotta minimise household chores...mopping the floor every 2 days, changing the bedsheet every week, etc really no joke leh.

so when's your house ready?

Hi hello,

Yap...thanks for reminding me..
I also don't want to get those heavy type.
Because my nose is sensitive to dust so I try to get those easy to wash oftenly and easy to clean.
So the roller blinds is cloth-type?

I understand as that time my mum in hospital, I have to do all the household after work and even weekend....it is very tired...Cannot imagine after we move in the house, I have to do it alone...I have already told my husband to share the load.
I hope my house can be ready by next year before chinese new year. But now, still waiting for one more I.D. quotation as I think he can do a nice job....

thanks hello!

can you pls give me the contact and location of the shop you got your roller blinds from? Was it custom made to the size of your windows? am thinking of getting roller blinds for my balcony but not sure if that would be very expensive..

Hi ayane,

I got my roller blinds made to measurement by Jimmy Textile. http://www.jimmytextiles.com/ I went to the main branch at Tanjong Katong Complex. The boss, Jimmy (old man) came to my place personally on a Sunday morning and we went down to the shop on either Monday or Tuesday night to select since hubby could not decide on the colours and patterns. tata and it was ready in a week. Usually could be done within a week.

Actually I never imagine that I'll do roller blinds for my new house as I actually prefer those ready made curtains which I used to change every week. I swear I never like roller blinds as I thought it'll be collecting dust. But its easier to clean compared to curtains which u'll have to change to clean it. Roman blinds (usually those used in office) are more prone to dust but roller blinds are ok. At the old house, I've so many colourful ones which I've already given away recently
happy.gif
This afternoon I was at causeway point and saw many ready made curtains (cartoons)...oh how I missed those curtains. But frankly speaking, its too time consuming to change it every week and I also need storage place for these curtains so I'm actually contended to having roller blinds

I paid around $750 (estimated as dont have the invoice now) for 3 bedrooms. I believed new flats cheaper as the window panels are smaller.

Gd luck and got house pic to show us?

Can i know do you have a totally new kitchen cabinet? can you let me know how much is your kitchen glass door with the sliding guide? i am looking for something like that for my bathroom!

hi acer,

i changed kitchen cabinet door panel nia, the old cabinet was in cheery brown and blue colour. i took away all door panel and changed to white panel and 2 pieces in frosted glass (brand new of cos). if you look carefully from the link i forwarded, you will notice the cabinet layout is almost 90% same. besides this, flooring, cooker hood & hob, sink & tap, solid surface table top and internal drawers' pullout trays (stainless steel) are all brand new. kitchen cabinets itself cost us abt 3k+.

my kitchen glass sliding door is abt 1.3k. usually bathroom glass door is slightly thinner than kitchen door if i am not wrong. of cos cheaper as well. mine is abt $700-800 for a tempered glass swing door with handler.
