Hello ladies! I'm a May btb & I've approached JPs since July/August last year. Read reviews on how many JPs are booked way in advance makes me v worried haha.

Even though I've looked around so many months in advance, I still get rejected by quite afew JPs - mainly their license expired, they have other events or they are away on trips. Finally managed to get a soft booking with a JP, who told us to get back to him again in Nov.

In Nov, we contacted him and he said to contact him again in Feb for the consent form to be signed. :)

so my advice is, just ask now! If the JP say too early, ask if you can do a soft booking (normally JP only confirm the appt 3 months in advance anyways). :)

Now I feel quite fortunate that my uncle is able to be my JP, one less thing to worry about. Although on the other hand, I'm a bit concerned because he's a pastor. My fiance is a free-thinker and his family are Buddhists. I'm a bit scared that my dear uncle will take it as an opportunity to preach and it might offend my in-laws. I was actually considering getting a neutral JP, but then I will worry if my uncle will be hurt / offended. Jia lat.

Hi! Does anyone have bridal MUAs to recommend? I didn't realise brides book their MUAs so early! I;m a Nov 2016 bride and the MUAs I'm keen on are already engaged by other brides :( I'm looking at clean and fresh make-up (my original choices were Adeline Lim and Tangyong Makeup). Am not keen on korean type of make-up (straight brows etc).

or would anyone have opinions on Marie Soh or Christine Chia as MUA? Would greatly appreciate if brides who have engaged their MUAs could share too! :)

Hello, i just did my trial makeup with Marie Soh and i love it so much! Im going to confirm her for my AD mua. She has such a warm, bubbly personality that makes you feel very comfortable with her. She will assess your features, style/personality and give you the makeup that is suitable for you. I feel very rest assured having her as my mua :)

Do you mind sharing her contact / rates? I'm looking for a MUA for my solemnization ceremony since I'm having it on a separate day from my AD. :)

Do communicate with your uncle that both of you wants a simple solemnisation without the scriptures or Church kind. I am sure he will be okay with it. :)

Will do! I hope he will respect our wishes. Sometimes relatives can be bossy, that's why actually I'd rather get an external one. But at least it's more convenient also. He's always pushing me to get my bf to go to church, so I'm scared he will use this as an opportunity to guilt trip / hint hint. Urgh. Hopefully everything goes well.

Hi btbs do you know when referring to fetch the bride at 9am is it meant to reach the bride's place at 9am or to lift the veil by 9am? Thank you

By 9am he have to step into your house. So gate crashing groom will have to arrive earlier.

i took 520 library for my bridal package! inclusive of pre-shoot and actual day. I guess its cheaper to get as a package rather than their ala carte, although i kinda like digio gowns. They're really nice people and not pushy. photography wise im not sure with pixioo, but are they more higher end?

Thanks for your feedback! :) I signed up with Kenneth in the end too because my HTB and I were really comfortable with him and his wife. They're indeed not pushy and very flexible! And his photos are also nice :) I learnt that he was actually trained under Chris Ling too!

Yah they're really nice to talk to, good quality of work, love their quiet and cosy bridal. Yeap! He was previously part of Chris Ling team. Heh. Good luck with your pre-shoot! :)

Hi gals! I will be having my solemnisation followed by tea ceremony at the venue before the commencement of wedding dinner. In that case what time should i ask my mua to come and do my evening makeup?

And do u think i need a touchup? I wont be doing a 2nd march-in or change of outfit. I want it to be as hassle-free as possible. Mine is an outdoor venue. Comments appreciated. Thank u gals!

gotta work your timing backwards. the crucial time to note will be the time of the solemnisation. If your solemnisation starts at 6pm, you may want to start your make up at about 4pm. Provided that the mua doesn't have anyone else to help make up. You may want to check with the mua on the time that she does her make up too as they ranges from 1.5 hours to 2.5 hours or even faster if she works with a hairstylist together at the same time.

Not too sure about the touch up though cause Singapore's humidity at an outdoor venue in the evening may be worth a consideration for at least a bridesmaid to help with the touch up. hope this helps.
Okay thank u! :)

Hi! I'm not sure if he'll solemnize for other couples. So far, he's only been doing it for church members and relatives. He's currently affiliated with a Methodist church but the name slips my mind at the moment.

Give yourself maybe a half hour grace when you're planning the time! Things may crop up such as traffic, or for all you know, you might sneeze while the MUA is doing your eyeliner, making the ink squiggle all over your cheek so she has to redo your make-up etc etc. It's better to sit around all ready for half an hour than to be late for your solemnization. Also, consider if you want to take some photos with your bridesmaids / groomsmen or your family at the venue before all the guests arrive and things get busy. If you want those photos, you might want to get the MUA to come even earlier.

hello. congrats all BTB!! anyone have the experience to nego the minimum table to a lower number? like minimum 25 to 20 instead? hope to hear from you thanks.

Yes I have but I did not book the venue in the end as the date I want was not available. You can try. Some hotels might ask you to spend a minimum amount if you want to have lesser tables.

you could try Aaron.Wende videography or Winson Ho cinematography! Aaron was our first choice but he was already booked for our AD date, so we engaged Winson instead :) he's very good at capturing emotions. you could check out their vimeo sites!

Hi guys, my wedding is on 23 July and I just started planning my wedding (!!)

It will be held at W hotel, will be having an evening banquet.. i dont see may reviews about W hotel though.

Can somebody intro me some bridal studio? I have visited Dijio, Rico, The Proposal, Belle & Tulle, The Aisle Bridal. Sadly I cant seem to choose 2 gowns I would love enough to sign their package and the only closest gown to my idea of a nice AD gown cost $17,000 by Elie By Elie Saab (!!!)

We have also checked out Majella Studio for videography but they seem rather low beat when we met them in person, refusing to offer any ideas and instead told us they wont be contributing ideas to customers, usually it is the other way round. Rather disappointing. Furthermore, my friend's fiance engaged them for his proposal and she told me the video quality is bad and shaky and really cliche?

Gals, anyone bought shoes from The Shoemaker's elf? They specialise in shoes customisation (including wedding shoes) and the prices they publish online seem reasonable. Any reviews?
