Hey dear, may i know which ballroom.u r referring? I hv booked hilton hotel as my banquet venue. They hv 3 ballrooms and mine is grand.ballroom.Appreciate if u also share the feedback on their food as well. Thanks again

Hi, I was at the grand ballroom. Perhaps it may be due to the lighting of the room thts too dim, maybe u can feedback tht t the banquet manager. I didn't attend a wedding, but had our company dinner and dance there but the banquet menu should be the same. I liked the food, no complains abt tht. Service was prompt and professional.

Separately, I attended a wedding at ramada Zhongshan park. The service was terrible, though it was cuz the staff were not well trained, not rude or anything. One thing thts good was tht there were I think 3 screens in total, so those guests who are not facing the stage can also view the vids etc without craning their necks.

Any of you planning to get a dessert table? When and where are dessert tables usually set up during a wedding? My first instinct was to have them as part of the banquet, so the table would be set up in the main venue but my coordinator advised that I hold mine during the pre-reception. The reception only lasts for about an hour or less though, and only the early guests will get to eat anything.
Usually desset tables are set up during the pre-reception so that the guest can have a bite before that. If u placed tat in the venue, ppl will walk across the room to get the desserts. Hence, ur emcee will have a hard time getting them back for ur march in, etc. A piece of my opinion

Ah right, that makes sense. In that case, I'll probably just cater for a smaller number of people. Thanks!

My hotel provide us with light snack for the guest during the reception. Perhaps you can ask your hotel if they have such services too.

You can try and negotiate to get the hotel to throw in the dessert table free or at a discounted price. Most provide canapes now and i am sure u can trade it. Inside the banquet sounds like a great idea. My friend did that at her wedding too but that was in Australia for a four course western dinner with cake at the end.

People had little bags they could put their candy in and take home. I think it may be harder for a sit down 8 course traditional chinese wedding because food takes up all your time.

I have my dessert table during reception before the banquet. It's like a candy bar with take away bag for the guests. The vendor help to cater to my theme. It provide the guests something to munch on while waiting and chit chatting for the dinner to start.

You can check with the hotel some provide such service as well.

My hotel is providing either canapes or pieces of peking duck for the reception, but I love how dessert tables look, that's why I was thinking of getting one for the guests to enjoy. :p

I'm not sure if my hotel can do up a dessert table, I'll have to check with them. You're right about food taking up most of the time though. I imagine they'll be full by the end of the dinner as well. Maybe I'll talk to my coordinator to see what she thinks.

Thanks for sharing! So once your reception is over, your vendor will start to pack up the table? What if there are leftover desserts? I'm just worried that everyone will be pai sey to take or tabao and everything will go to waste.

Thanks for all the feedback, ladies! I think maybe I'll have a simple dessert table for the reception so that the guests can snack on some stuff while waiting for dinner to begin. The only headachey part is that Fullerton's reception area isn't on the same floor as the Straits Room where I'll be having my banquet. Don't know if I should have my dessert table at the cocktail reception area or just outside the room; I'm scared that if most people come late, they'll just miss out on the dessert table altogether. :(

The vendor will come and set up the candy bar and come back few hours later to dismantle. I engage a candy bar for my brother wedding, the entire candy bar was wipe clean, a lot of guest tabao as there are take away boxes.

Hi everyone! Really appreciate all the feedback and advice readily given in this forum :) I'm currently torn between 520 library and pixioo photography for my prewed photography -- am even seriously considering doing 2 prewed photoshoots! But that will not be very wise in terms of budgeting hahaha. Do any brides here have any opinion/experience to share about either of these PGs? Thanks very much!!

I sign up with fabfoto for my photobooth. No band for mine.

Could you share the rates for fabfoto with me too? Have been considering them as a possible choice if I go with a photo booth.

For Fullerton, children above 5 years old are charged adult rates. : / I only really have two young children who might be coming (most of my close friends / family don't have kids yet), so I didn't really try to negotiate for cheaper rates.

My hotel (Marina Mandarin) do not charge cheaper price for kids. They allow us to have 10 adults plus 1 kid free. Squeeze 11 ppl to a table.

icic! thanks for ur sharing :)

the hotel I booked charges by headcount instead of table. and it's by individual serving. so I hope they have arrangement for kids below 12.. cos I know of several of them who will be coming along.. and for my close nieces and nephews, I know they wont eat those dishes.. haha. will check with my coordinator soon :)

Hi BTBs! Any reviews for Grand Copthorne, Regent Hotel, Orchard Hotel and Hilton Hotel? In terms of their service, food and venue!
Also, I am quite keen on Z Wedding. Can anyone recommend any good wedding coordinator, PG, MUA and hair stylist from Z Wedding? :)

There's a lot of bad reviews on pixioo. Didn't turn up for AD shoot

Will be going for my first gown fitting in Jan! I'm concerned that I won't be able to find all my gowns on the first trip down though. Normally, is it alright to have multiple fittings before deciding on your gowns?

try to get everything done on your first gown fitting. When doing fitting, my bridal will check if the particular gown is available on my wedding day. So hor if you take longer time to choose, the lesser chances the gown will be available for your ad. especially for those hot dates

Ooh okay! Thanks for the advice. I'm just worried because they only booked the dressing room for me from 1pm to 4pm. I'm quite picky so I don't know if I can choose 4 gowns within that time. Scared that I will regret, then I'll have to pay to change my gown after confirming. :s

hmm i dunno how your bridal work, but mine didnt mention to me how long they book the dressing room for me. They let me use all i want, no pressure to choose all i wanted. Only thing is i got too tired after that. change in and out like 20 over times.

Hi! Does anyone have bridal MUAs to recommend? I didn't realise brides book their MUAs so early! I;m a Nov 2016 bride and the MUAs I'm keen on are already engaged by other brides :( I'm looking at clean and fresh make-up (my original choices were Adeline Lim and Tangyong Makeup). Am not keen on korean type of make-up (straight brows etc).

or would anyone have opinions on Marie Soh or Christine Chia as MUA? Would greatly appreciate if brides who have engaged their MUAs could share too! :)

Hi Ladies!!! Finally, I'm done with my wedding!!! ;) Here's a short review to the best of my collections of feedback from my relatives and guests!!

Thomson Wedding Collections: Superb!!! Their service is good and most importantly the gowns are so beautiful!!! My relatives love it!!! Picture perfert too. I kind of like being slimmed down by the cutting of the gowns too. I mean at least I look good in photos. haaahaaa

Hotel (My hubby doesn't want me to reveal venue): So I can only say it's the usual 5 stars hotel in Orchard.

But there is one thing that I really need to mention!! My wedding emcee Sylvia!!! Oh my!!! She is so wonderful!!! She changed the entire atmosphere of my wedding banquet. Not like those boring weddings that I have attended. She's worth every single cent of my pennies!!

You know those reviews about guests being offended by her are all nonsense! I think those people are just jealous of her fun loving, charming and super good talker character. My guests loved her!!! They were all singing praises of her after the wedding. She is so good in filling up those gaps that there isn't a single awkward moment during the banquet. Best of all, everything she said or do refers back to me and my hubby. She never took any attention from us and yet she facilitate the entire banquet so well!!

I'm so proud to have her as my wedding emcee and as my family and I were watching the videos snippets of our wedding banquet, we were all still smiling and laughing at the night's programs! And if you think she is expensive, I finally understand something 'you pay for quality'. It's just as simple as that.
