(2011) 2011 Brides

Hey Dear BTBs,

Was just wondering if any of you knows of photographers who are more towards the Fine arts kinda approach for my PW shoot. I'm quite lost cos its really hard to decide on the massive amount of photographers these days. It'll be good if anyone can recommend a photographer that you've used or enquired before. Thanks!!!

Hi Kass,

I saw Kelvin's work. And i think its lovely. But i somehow fee like there is like a lack of "feeling" in it? Are you using him?

How about Lighted Pixels or Coffeestains photography? I kinda like both their works as well. Any feedback?

Hey girls, there's an upcoming info show starting on 10 Sep, fri 8pm on channel 8.. Its about weddin preparations, inspirations from real weddings, Chinese customs and everything else about wedding.. The show is called "Wedding 101"

Jean - I am using Jeremy from RedCo photography. Kelvin's works are nice, but too "arty". I like something with more colour, which Jeremy does very well.

LightedPixels' works are really nice as well, I really like his work, if u have the budget, definitely go for them. Coffeestains didnn't leave that much of an impression for me when I met them at BOWs.

Kass - Cool, i'll take a look at jeremy's work too. yeah Lighted pixels'a work is definately artsy, but i love their tones and all, gives a sense of class. But they look eally expensive. I didnt get to the bows this year so i didnt get to see their work but Coffeestains's recent work on his facebook looks really different from what i've seen so far. Are any of you taking part in the free pre-wedding contest?

Evon - Do you mean your BF from loud and you are gonna use Loud for your wedding? I'll difenately check them out too. Do share some images when u get your photos done ya! =)

hi Wah lao weh,i chosen Coffee as my photographer

Liu ou ling: Oh Cool. i just saw their photos. Not bad too. Maybe i'll check them out. Hows their prices like? ( am i allowed to ask that here? ) sorry i'm still very new.

Evon: Congrats! I think its nice to have a bf who is a photographer. hehe Makes sure that the photos are in good hands. heehee. =) Is loud linked to any bridal boutique?

I'll be meeting some of the photographers soon, starting with Chris from coffeestains tml. I'll let you guys know what happened then.

Jean: that's e problem.. i dun like my friends to work on my wedding, but no choice.. and he cannot be one taking my photos.. LOL! x.x and nope, Loud! is not with any bridal..

Evon: hehe at least its something can save on right? My htb says that photography isnt as important anymore cos now a days everyone calls themself a photographer. But i think its still very important to get a good photographer espcially if its a once in a life time experience. hee just need to convince the htb to write the cheque. =P

Jean: well, i think photos and videos is very impt... haha!! and u need to choose wisely, not juz that they are famous, they are great.. you have to find 1 that's ur style.. who knows he/she will end up to be not so famous and quite cheap...

so go ard and see more first.. :D

Sapphire05: thanks! but he doesn't have much time to shoot me... hahaahah

liu ou ling & jeannykoh:
I'm shortlisting the same photographer!
I'm prettry impressed with Coffee & Tea service and consistent follow up. Am in the midst of negiotiating on the package deal.

Hey hey, i just got back from meeting chris from coffeestainsphotography. And here is my impression. Actually i was pretty surprise by his work. It looks pretty different from what i see on his website. I use to think his work was dark and very artsy only. But when he showed me his actual day slideshows and some other photos. Its actually surprisingly pleasant and not dark at all. My htb says he was quite impressed too cos of the consistency of the work.

I think overall, We had a pretty good time talking to Chris, he seems like a very personal chap who was willing to give us more then what his pricelist promised. His pricing was surprising to be quite resonable as well for his credentials.

Lightedpixels next! =)

Jean: congrates!! :D yeah... it must have ben fun!! maybe think abt what style n feel u want first so that its easier when u do comparison...

hi Geraldine,

oohh we got the same taste! their service is remarkable, and I just saw Coffee's photos in this month Style weddings magazine too! he is so highly recommended!

wow i havent been to this forum for such a looong looong time! hope u girls have made great progression with yr wedding prep!

rachel: i bet u must be very excited! hee. do show us the pictures k!! heee

Yah I agree with EvonGladys... think about the style and feel you like when shortlisting PGs and making a comparison. Then after that, budget.. heheh

That' what I did too...

How about next Tues 6:30-7pm?

hi all, i am currently sourcing a photographer for my pre wed & actual day in june next year. found a few that i am considering and like everyone else, i find it hard to decide. i was initially considering lighted pixels or 39east until by chance, i came upon alvelyn alko's wedding blog and was wondering if anyone know or had any experience with her? anyone know of her rates too? i thought her work is really different, towards the art side, versatile, lively and vibrant. much thanks
happy.gif

Hi Mandy, I haven't heard of her before but it looks like she is still a student and just occasionally doing wedding photography on the side. Perhaps she collaborates or 2nd shoots for Bryan Jean...?

Why not write her and see what her rates are like, and if you guys get along?

hey all thank you so much for your replies..

moss389, if you havent heard of her before how do you know that she is still a student and 2nd shoots for bryan jean? ive just emailed her and awaiting her reply! thank you so much!

dear all, need advice from catholics here.

my HTB is a catholic but i'm not. in order to have a church wedding, we are required to attend either Marriage Preparation Course or Engaged Encounter. Any idea if we are required to attend those conducted by Catholic organisations or we can attend those from MCYS and etc?

Hi Jessie, I'm also a non catholic while HTB is a catholic. According to the priest, we have to attend the catholic engaged encounter and obtain the certificate. It's like a passport to church wedding. I attended mine early this feb and am glad to say it was a very enriching session. Do not be intimidated to attend as I had the same thoughts initially. The pple there are very sensitive to non Catholics!

Hope this helps!

Hi Rachel, thanks for sharing. We prefer to attend the weekly MPC instead of CEE. My concern is that my travel plans clashes with the dates of the quarterly MPC. So i can only attend the one in May next year, which is less than 6 mths from my wedding date, which i tot is not allowed. Just checked with them, itz ok.

So everything settled! hehehe

Mandy >> lol it sounds kinda creepy but that's just what i found out from her blog/flickr/Facebook info. I also met with Bryan Jean when i was sourcing for PGs and became his fan on FB - recently there was a small photo album there with pics taken by her.

oh... next week i cant again.. :/ prewedding on fri and gotta get ready alot of stuffs... by the way, have yall gotten ur wedding heels? I am selling mine from Aldo... brand new size 38, selling at $100. Original price is $155 but i bought it at a sale for $108. Reason for selling coz it doesn't have my size 39 back then, and I thought size 38 was ok.. it's tight but i still scare i cant find shoes.. so i juz bought it.. but when i took it out to try again, its really too small..
sad.gif
cant sell cheaper coz its completely brand new, never worn but only tried before.. i still cant find my wedding heels but i conclude that this is really too small so its too tight n will be painful for me as well..
