loveasa: my HTb thinks VG is not necessary >.< We spent alot on our photoshoot so maybe dats why. Anyway, to be practical, how often do we look at photos and videos? ;) just my 2 cents worth. A wedding is for but a day, a marriage, a life time

Hi everyone, thanks for all your replies

I asked my fiance about it, but he didn't really comment much, guess he's fine with anything. I have one more month to ponder :p

As for VG, I have been asking all my married colleagues if they take out their videos to watch all the time so I can decide if it is worth it. I guess if I really want to engage one, I'm pretty interested in the one missywinnie recommended.

If I have the money, I will use Yang from Substance Film. Have you guys heard of him? I love his videoediting.

love_asa: i thought of wearing the wedding bands for the PS as well but decided not to since i can still have photos with them on the AD and i like being able to wear them for the first time during our solemnization.

shanawawa: i think they can work around your budget so shouldn't be a problem.
i had the same concern about VG but HTB decided to go ahead with the video. At least we'll have the video there when we want to relive the moments. Also, it'll be good for our parents who may want to view the events for the whole day again.

shanawawa: For the lady's band, i was quoted 2k plus for a full eternity band, with rose gold trimmings, whereas for the guy's band, it was 700-800 bucks for a simple band, with rose gold trimmings and a little diamond. Hope that helps!

We were also thinking of getting from Soo Kee cos my proposal ring was from SK to make use of discount, but then we couldn't find anything we really really like after browsing through their collection.

purple bottle: I think maybe get my cousin to take video of the events ba.. then I'll do my own editing if needed. keke

mrslimlin: thanx for letting me know about the price! same as u, i tot of getting our wedding bands from Goldheart as proposal ring from there. but we'll see.. the vouchers we had cannot be used for wedding bands.. GRRR!

love_asa - ya think u still have time to really decide if u wanna get a VG. Anyway, different individual will have different needs. For me, photos i wont always take out and look. But for video, i think i will take out and see+hear when i bo liao. lol

Whats left outstanding now for all BTBS? so far i confirm my vg, pg, bridal, venue le. At the same time shortlisted my emcee for my ad le. Now left with MUA. Any good recommendation?

I've only confirmed by BS and photoshoot PG. Will be recce-ing various places this weekend and next.
Holding a wedding party instead of a banquet, so limited places which can fit our capacity. *headache* Wish me luck!

Hi Amy! Welcome to the thread!

pinkglove- Currently looking at 120-150 pax, and hoping to keep the figure to the bare minimum, so that it will really be an event just for my loved ones.

missy- Yes...finally found a venue. Will be at Burkill Hall in Botanic Gardens.

Now to look for caterer, florist, decor stuff....any recommendations? heehee. Ala-carte is much work!

joyle_t

mrslimlin>> burkill hall is so nice! can have a garden ROM if u having it on ur AD too..

does Botanic garden have recommended list of caterers?

another thing about the caterers is about the table set-up! i noticed some caterers do provide nice wedding table set-up (like those hotels' tables) and if you are looking at using chinaware and glasses instead of disposable cutlery, different caterers charge a range of $2.50 - $4..

Hey j0yle_t,

Yah, my ROM will also be on my AD. So we'll prob have a garden solemnisation followed by the reception/party.

Nope, they don't have a recommended list of caterers, but I'm looking at caterers who have done weddings at Burkill Hall before such as Rasel, Purple Sage and Lavish Dine.

Thanks for the info about the caterers' surcharge! I'm trying to work that in now.

mrslimlin>> was looking thru the caterers so got these info from their webbies..

and also some florist does the ROM set-up, and caterers do set up the solemnisation table for u as well.. this part is rather tricky cos' need to figure out who gives better set-up and better deal!

karenhy: What performance are you going to do? What have you confirmed so far?

I've confirmed my venue, BS and PG earlier in the year and I've pretty much been doing nothing for the past half year. I've recently confirmed the designs and WG and EG.

How are the rest of you doing?

Hi Christy... yup I realised there should be alot of 25 June brides coz i had difficulty looking for the venue coz so many were already booked lol

Fort Canning would be great... I love outdoor weddings... but due to parents.. can only compromise have outdoor solemnisation lunch... but so afraid its going to be HOT!

joyle_t

Hi Christy>> have u booked fort canning? cos' I actually emailed the guy to ask if I could book the gallery/foyer (the area which can hold abt 26 tables), but he said that the fort canning centre will undergo renov for most of 2011...
