Hi everyone, could someone help me? I have three growns on actual day ( doing soleminsation before wedding banquet) - one wg, one eg, and one tea dress. Does it mean that morning, i wear my WG den when go to my parent house i wear tea dress. Then at night during solemisation i wear back my WG, den lastly second march in wear my EG? I see my package and realise i didnt ask for additional growns. Is this the norm?

btw i m also lookin at marina mandarian too but it will be 31 Jan

Sigh...I was keen in Marina Mandarin too..but after much discussion and comparison of packages yesterday, had to leave it out from my list.
It costs $1038nett per table for the date that you are looking at..oh yes, they'll be having a wedding show in April if you are interest!

hui shan> nope, didn't book but i did check with them. have also gotten MM's package list.
not exactly searching for a venue...just trying to decide on one from my shortlist.

Hi Hui shan, try calling all the hotels you like and then check the dates, let say 31st Jan.. Then shortlist from there.. Alot of brides are getting married before Chinese New Year.. I called mostly all and then shortlist from there as most hotels are already booked. What is your preferred date and how many tables?

Hello, finally ... i managed to secure the Novotel on 23rd Jan. will be going thru the contract and shd be confirming by this week

that date is really a headache.. more like a auspicious date for hotels than couples .. since they are the one earning $$$$

btw what is the advisable time to go down to try the gown and do the wedding photoshoot if the wedding is on Jan next year?

Hi Katherine, Great to hear that you have secured a hotel on 23rd Jan, my master also gave me 23rd as well.. hehe.. For trying of growns, you should visit bridal studio in April/May time to do selection of growns. Sometimes it is hard to find something you like if you are taking OTR. Then if you are into MTM growns, the design should be decided by June as they need a longer time to tailor your growns. Then around August, start your photoshot! =) This is the schedule my studio provided me. =)

super duper busy with work... just came in here to take a peek.

hi Katherine, i'm taking novotel as well for 10 Jan... just to let you know..for novotel on 23 jan, it's an auspicious day... the cost per table is 1K+ lei.. $200/table more than the normal rates..

tot it's a bit expensive...

hey Evergreen.. it is very expensive! i m requesting for more and many perks... seriously... i got another choice and is cheaper.. but i have to say i like Novotel alot....

sigh HEADACHE!!!!!!

I called up alot of hotels and so many are booked on 23rd Jan.. the fact is I can find "empty" hotels is a blessing already!

Hi wendy, i m looking at 31 jan. roughly abt 35 tables. yup called quite a lot of them, but mostly booked. nw on waiting list for 1-3 hotels. hope will be able to get any one. Praying hard.... else i have to look at other dates

I haven go down yet.. yes soon in May after my paper submissions.

But the sales coordinator is really good. She was quite patient and I love their gowns. It all look so good

Haiz dun say liao... i am still discussing with my bf and both families abt the venue. Need to confirm by tml also (or later in the afternoon).

My coordinator is Ann from Marina. Helen is the Make up artist from Yishun. Likely to get the gowns from Yishun as there are more selections there.

Hi Hui shan, i am looking at Grand Ballroom in OCC.. The ballroom is big and pretty and i am looking at opening two function rooms outside the ballroom for my solemnisation on AD. I went to Sheraton and on the same level of the grand ballroom itself, there is another couple holding banquet on the same day in one of the function rooms.. i dun really like tat.. =) How about you, remember to tenatively reserved the place you like..

Hello Hui Shan, yes Novotel secured. But somehow is the price they feel is abit ex for the auspicious day. So it kinda of like stuck here. Still in the midst of discussion...

Hey Hui Shan and Katherine! i slept at 4am cos i took leave today and tomorrow to study. i am working and studying part time hehe.. Ya.. i saw the forum and see that the reviews are not bad and i really love the grand ballroom. =) Katherine, i understand how u feels.. the packages are so much expensive than last year!

Hi Aveline, haha yes I'm very excited about the upcoming photoshoot. I'm quite worried about the weather though as it has been raining daily in taipei according the their meteorology website.

Hello I finally confirmed and signed liao. My wedding dinner @ Novotel 23rd Jan 2010. Each table $1088... high price to pay but bo bian since this is such a good date and other places are full... my bf and I really loved the place. So hope is $ well spent

Finalised the venue, now sourcing for BS. Dunno which one is good. thinking of GHA but den still wan to do a comparision before signin any package. ermm... wat is the standard package for BS anyone?
