yes i went for a change. As PS i wore a kua already. Already satisfied the elders that as a chinese i wore the kua.
On AD, I be wearing an EG with short train. Its a tri-blue colour with floral embroidery and with a short train. Its lovely and pretty fairy light. Thats why I love it. Something different. In fact, because of the embroidery it looks very chinese and cheongsum type. So i have no probs with it.
reason why i didnt choose a tea dress is because most of the jiemeis or bridesmaid will be wearing some sort of beautiful short dresses..so it be hard to be identified as the 'bride' if you wear the same type of 'tea dresses'. So I prefer long dresses or even EG with shorter train.
For your information, KUa with beadings will be heavier than those with embroidery.
I am also a hokkien.
Like Mrs Ang said, no worries. Just whatever the male side bring, you return in the same manner. So no need to bother so much. Up to the male side to fret about it.
