Hi All,
I have signed up Venus Bridal ytd..here wat happened ytd:
-we took bus from city sq to Tebrau city/Jusco. Intending to wait for
some one from Passion BS (Johor Jaya) to fetch us from Jusco to the
Passion BS. However bus ride (RM2.50ea) took 30mins alone. Decided not
to go JJ to get BS le due to distance and considering the no. of Trips
we have to make there..since distance is so impt, might as well don go
Passion see at all and make us more confused.
-Took Taxi to Sentosa RM18. Taxi driver drop us outside Inspiration.
My tot is sentosa is just a one street small place so all those
commonly mentioned BS shd be ard. To my surprise the place is so so
big. We did not enter Inspiration first tot we can see if the other BS
is ard. End up since i only bring Venue Address w me, aft asking afew
locals, walked a long way to Venus (Across the Bridge)
-Asked & talked to Joelle. Looked at the "Shi Jing" Studios (got 7/8
of them I think) & some AD gowns. As told by her, alot of nicer gowns
are taken out for AD by brides.
-End up we just took Venus since it is so strongly recommended since
we cant find SG Bridal (eyes blind, it is really diagonally across
Venus). Looked at their gown pic cards and many of them seem nice.
Guess it all depend on luck in the end if can get the gown i really
want for AD & whether it is available. I mentioned Yvonne as my
referer.
Here's my Package:
A)Classic Type RM4088
B)Signature Type RM4588
* Both package is the same exclude B) have more newer/better designed
AD gowns
- We took A) first with option to top up that RM500 diff if we wan to
get signature AD gowns instead.
- Since 17 Jan 09 is only our ROM+buffet reception outdoor type, we
dont feel the need to get EG or Car decor within that short 3 hours
function. Joelle changed our package to as follows:
> A) to RM 3888 or B) to RM 4288
> 1 AD WG, 1 AD coat, PS 3 WG+3 EG for indoor. Flexiblity to change in
no. of WG/EG during PS & can get 1 add'l gown if need to (more
gowns=more poses top up). PS 1 WG for 1 outdoor PS.
> Half a page in Album in Venus is considered as ONE page. Initially
given 20pg (10 full pg) to 24pg; 30 pose to 35 pose
> Additional Pose RM75 each. Can cheaper if get more poses in the end.
Add'l 1 page is RM150/1 full page = RM300. However if need to top up
by page (min 2 pages/RM300), Venus can give add'l 3 pose that don need
to count. Guess this can nego for more pose ba.
> 1 8R album w 20 poses
> 150 4R loose pics up to 15 pose
> 1 Bed Frame
> We chg the two table tops to one longer style frame which can put
2/3 poses in it.
> 1 DVD 30 poses (can bring childhood pics for them to add in w 2
songs length.
> CD of 30 poses (8R), we requested for one size not locked pic so
that we can print on a laminated clear type ¡§sticker¡¨ (don¡¦t the
name for it) for our new hse kitchen glass door. (full length)
> Guest book which they will stick in 1 pic on the cover (Only one
style ¡V Golden color, still look ok)
> 1 music box/photo frame which also only style & music. Triangle
shaped so each side they will put in one pic (frames can be detached
ourselves if we wan to chg the pics ourselves)
> Add¡¦l costs: RM20 for Ampoules (needed for both hus n wife), RM20
for eye lashes, RM 30 for hair net or wat. Ampoules I already have
many at home which I buy at S$1 each tat time. U can buy it too from
this ebay website. I saw the seller b4. very frenly n nice Housewife
stayin in Bugis. Just I am not sure if they will say my ampoules are
not suitable for the makeup?? I will take my own ampoules (all diff
types I have during my PS). Will buy my own Eye lashes from Bugis (I
saw Bugis villages 2nd level selling eyes lashes @ S$2 a pair I think.
Will check them out again this weekend. Any advise on the type of
lashes to buy? Standard style one or got pattern one? Any one know wat
this Hair Netting thing? Is it those Ah Ma¡¦s style hair net? If so,
then can buy myself n bring there too to cut costs. Haha..

Me n my bf are lousy in negotiation n super lazy. I not sure if we
ganna ¡§eaten¡¨ by the BS le?? Also, which Photographer to use? I only
mentioned Ray since I saw Yvonne mentioning him. Joelle booked him for
me too for PS. How about MUA? She say got one male one female MUA.
Which one shd I get? Is he good?fun?can give ideas and encourage me (I
m stiff) to take pics? Scare tat day I can't ¡§open up totally¡¨ n be
real¡K.
- We booked 6 & 7 Nov for PS. Booked the Crystal Crown Hotel across
the street to stay over nite on 6 Nov. RM172.50 Net so don have to
travel so much and take it as a ¡§pre-wedding HM¡¨ in JB Sentosa.
Since we don¡¦t wan another day to be wasted just to come bk for gowns
selections, Joelle suggest that we come 10.30am on 6 Nov, take 1 ¡V 2
hrs for choosing my PS gowns, fast fast alter the gowns while I make
up for indoor PS. Is it too rush? Please advise.
Option 1) Gown selection then Indoor PS (we wondering if can go to the
Sultan Park for Outdoor PS first/sako them to come to our Hotel for
some Hotel room shots?
Option 2) Gown selection then outdoor PS to the two places (the other
Indoor PS gowns can slowly be altered? Next day come back for indoor
PS? Which shoud be more ideal?
- I am quite worry of the Designer¡¦s capability. Cos some of the
albums I seen don look very special/artistic/talented. Any one can
send me their final pics for me to see? If I really don like their 1st
designs, I don know how to tell them wat I want? Any samples online to
see too? Btw, 1st design layout they can email to us for review,
comment. Can reduce one trip down if possible. Just need to go down b4
their final print.
- Now the BS is confirmed le, other things on my mind now:
1) Buying our Wedding Bands. BTBs, any advise? How to know the choices
in term of retail shops, gold/platinum/custom made etc
differentiation? Pricing? I hope I can get the WBs by 6 Nov so that we
can have PS with them on. Very Rush??
2) Buying Wedding/PS shoes (PS needs one white/beige shoes + 1 silver
to pei the EG). Other then International Plaza got a shop specializing
in wedding shoes, where else can I explore?
3) Hair cut/trim + Highlight else black hair now so dull. My Eye
lashes is v messy de. Venus say I don need to my trimming outside but
they can do for me. Advisable to do it in Venus? My eyes is single
eyelid.. so v worry can't get pretty lashes
4) Man, Peidicure/ DIY with some crystals/blink blink stuff? Should I
spend on my nails just for PS which do arylic or wat during Actual ROM
date? I am not those ¡§ai mei¡¨ ger so I don know how these vanity
stuff, where to go now.. feel very lost ƒ¼
5) PS indoor theme. Do you gers have special poses/words that you
think yourself/design? I only tot of my first album page to have pic
of me n my bf playing the internet. We know ea other from Myspace.com
and I tot if can do a PS tat show our Myspace profile n we two
chatting w each other.. can the album flow? Oh ya. Do you talk to
Photographer/MUA/Designer before actual PS? If need to then I can't
just go down on 6 Nov to do everything le? Any more ideas to share?
What thing u bring down as indoor PS equipment? Toys? Etc?
6) Outdoor Causal wear for Kota Tinggi waterfall/resort style. Couple
T-shirt + Bermuda (shorts is out as I got carrot legs..haiz or can
they edit the pics till my carrots are gone? Else I can't choose more
sexy short Indoor gowns le??) Him in long sleeve shirt + jeans style?
Bikini + shorts style? Which type is better?
7) What else I need to prepare/plan/buy/do????

Hi Glympse! Good to have you on this thread! And really excited to know that your HTB is Swede. My HTB is Italian. Our wedding day is on the 25h at the Sentosa Resort & Spa. The Italian celebration will only happen in Aug 09 so we have a slight breather.
So, will you be having a traditional wedding banquet or a fusion of both cultures?;-) My gown and cheong sum will be designed by Louis Ler of Amor Meus. Am opting for a ala carte package so I will be sourcing for makeup artist,etc..

I also took up AD video with express highlights, like you. I still haven't decided about the photo montage though..see my budget first..it IS rather pricey.
Or maybe you can get some friends to help? Those who are more adept at editing graphics?

edazz, haha yea, din know our date 18 April was so popular as well! I had actually wanted 11 April, but it clashed with another friend's wedding from my church too

will u and ur HTB be staying on in Singapore, or moving to Italy? haha I don't think the wedding banquet's going to be overtly chinese, or fusion. I may just do a cheong sum for my evening gown, fusion style, just cos i like the look haha... not intentionally so
my HTB and i were toying with the idea of using the colours from our country flags (red & white, blue & yellow), but that would be so psychedelic Yea I was thinking of going ala carte as well, but cos there are a lot of things to settle re moving to Sweden, decided to just have a package to keep things simple. But am sure u'll manage well!

the GDL items supposed in law buy..but we have to give them back certain gifts also..which the female side have to buy. Its called "hui Li" meaning return gifts and some jia zhuang. The bed side lamps and towels female side prepare so we bride side must buy. My GDL supposed to be end of this Oct cos my hubby got overseas trip. So make it early.
But AD schedule is planned cos when we select our auspicious date last yr with the fengshui master. He gave us the timing already. So just planned accordingly lor. Its easy.
My An Chuang already did simple one cos we stay in the house liao.
Shoes and jewellery all bought liao.
Montage..my hubby is doing it. Already selected our pics that we all like since childhood. He should finish by end Oct. He also should finish the songs selections for Military March in, Evening Gown march in and dinner songs by end Oct.
My mum's clothes already done. My mum picked it ever since she knew my wedding date. She now just fussying over her hairstyle. Just yesterday she told me she wants my makeup artiste to do something abt her hair. I decided to engaged it for her then.
Already done the Angbao lists, IC lists (meaning the in charge of which duty list), AD schedule, sitting arrangements for hotel dinner. Lunch at bride's parent place wedding card also prepare liao. Wedding cards for dinner and addresses all done up. Confirmed guests list liao. Gowns chosen liao. Corsages do liao. Angbao boxes and stationery do liao.
Now only left the wines havent buy, GDL cakes to order in end Nov and 3 tiered wedding cake for lunch, buffet lunch to order in end Nov.

haha..got a friend whom just got married last sun...she done more than me..i guess its like a comparison..but end of the day..its up to you what to do and what to cut down.
oh plus...i told all before..i had to rush cos nov/dec..my hubby and i take turns to be outstationed overseas..so no time to do last min...have to rush. By the time both of us are back ..its already 21 dec..left one week plus to our wedding. So we hope to finish everything before we leave by mid nov.

n b4 i went down, i have the col i wan in mind so wont b too confuse... cos too many to choose from...

i did tat but my hubby n FIL keep thinking is a waste of money (though they feel is very nice-tiles done up)... but seriously i do not like wat is done up by HDB mah... a hse of my own... cannot everything listen to parents & in-laws...

Hey Joa, i'm looking for low heeled shoes too. Same situation as you. I think it's important to feel comfortable in the shoes that we're wearing for the whole day! Can't let blisters and sore feet spoil the day. I heard from some friends that it's better to purchase the shoes early and start wearing them at least a month before the wedding so it 'seasons'. Think it'll be less stressful to the feet and legs.

As for invitation cards, I'll be smsing / emailing people, and will send the cards only to those who confirm. SMSing/emailing about 1.5 mths before the AD, and sending the cards 3-4 wks before the wedding. That's the current plan anyway

For banquet wise, we booked for Hilton Singapore..cost reasonable, convenient location and flexibility in menu selection...we already viewed the bridal suite and some wedding decorations liao...so would finalise everything closer to the dates as they would have come up with new wedding favours and deco ideas in 2009...

Not over-laying Tiles coz me and my HTB share the same feel as your hubby and FIL. We concentrate more on our MBR,,, Hehehe...
Even our ID feels that it's not necessary to do so unless we are the kind that spent most of our time in Toilet.. Hahaha...
Our reno quite budget too coz my HTB dun want being in "debts". We will buy bits and pieces slowly
You are juz voicing your ideas not stubborn. My HTB's father also give ideas and I really appreciate it. Frankly speaking, they really eat salt more then we eat rice. He is far-sighted then us. Ultimately, he will say it's your house and I'm juz giving ideas. He dun want to make me angry.. hehehe
