cutiephinphin, to put it in another light, they have gone through the wedding and the marriage and telling you some aspects about married life. eg, ur friend may have some regrets of the things she never had the chance to do after marriage, or your sister had a heavy loss/expendiature for her wedding. But all in all, don't take it at heart, just take it as their concern for you.
For me, my sis/parents keep telling me dun hold in resturant must hold in a hotel near mrt, dun sign with the first bs, must get AD PG and AD VG... etc. It gets pretty fustrating for me too after awhile to meet all the expectation and the expense we can afford.
Anyway ask yourself what is important to u and what is not. Everyone can give u lots of opinion but just take everything with a pinch of salt and enjoy the preparation process.
