hey diamond, thats contrary to my understanding tho.. kekeke, but i guess there are some churches which are stricter in terms of the dress code..

so far i have not heard any fellow sis-in-christ having problems with their wedding gowns.. jaime yeo's gown is bare-back but accepted by the church too.. =)

by the way, unlike catholics, we dun have priests or fathers... we have pastors in church.. and pastors dun take vow of celibacy..

it is a must for both to be of same faith coz otherwise its pointless to commit the marriage to God.. which is the main purpose of the church wedding..

pandalic, oic. anyhow, am no christian nor catholic. all i know is that no matter which God/religion, all wish us well and will bless us with a happy marriage. so, i do not understand why some are so fussy about certain things.

similarly, in order to get married in church, we have to bring up the kids in the catholic way. one priest explained that if baptising the infant at birth will strain the marriage, baptism should be postpone to a later date. he also said "bringing up the child in a catholic way" means expose him to catholic faith which can be achieved by bringing him to church, sending him to a catholic sch, etc. it is this open mindedness and broad heartedness to that convince me to get married in church though i am no believer.

diamond, guess you will only know when you experienced it yourself.. christianity is not a religion, its the relationship between you and God. =)

i guess the value you placed in the church wedding is different.. coz for me personally or probably other christians, its not just a solemnisation.. its acknowledging God bringing us in union.. and us making our vows in Him.. so it matters why both of us must have the same faith.. i am not disputing your views coz this is something personal. =)

in any case, a christian wedding is not contingent to any other factors as you have mentioned.. as christians, we only commit the marriage to Christ which is the foundation of the marriage to us.. thats it.

strictly speaking, it is not necessary for us to promise anyone that we will bring up the kids in christian faith.. it is more of our personal belief that we commit to bring up the child the way God intended.. whether the infant subsequently receive Christ or not, that is between him and God..

for christians, we dun baptise infants at birth.. coz that is not their choice.. however have baby dedication whether we as parents announced our committment to bring the infant up as God has intended..

Hazel: You cannot catch me! You cannot catch me!

Celebrate with both Mums. Actually, last Saturday we already celebrated with Mr lipstar's mum. We went to a restaurant to eat. I heard from sis-in-law that this Sat, many Chinese restaurants charge double. My Mum is not a restaurant person. I just gv her ap, she will be happy enuf.

pinkbunny: We went in Sept I think. Wah, I lao sai many times on Saturday morning from about 2am til morning 6am. Tad boleh tahan so I struggled downstairs to the 1st aid box in the kitchen and took medicine. The next morning, when everyone was sitting together, then found out got quite a few also kena stomach upset.

We attended the one by TOUCH in March this yr. Very useful, more than the one conducted by my church which we are now gg for. The instructors we had (which are great!) have another class this Aug so u may want to consider. $200 for 6 sessions, with $70 rebate for full attendance

i guess wedding bands at PS are a matter of prefernce.. for me, why i agree to wearing it is cos the album is for ur guest to admire right? and by the time majority of them gets to see it is at ur wedding mah, which by then u'll be married... and the wedding album, we wanna take it together and portray it as husband and wife shots, not bf anf gf... but i guess its a matter of choice lah... =) I initially wanted to wear solitaire only... more bling.. hee..

wah, i didnt know some churches were so strict! when i went to this certain shop to buy my tea dress,they sold some very pretty, lace shrugs. Gues its for brides who have strict dress codes... anyoen wanna get these, PM me, i email u the add of that shop...

diamond and pandalic: some christian churches do practice infant baptism.. i know methodist churches do, but its non obligatory.. parents are given the choice.. but then again, being infant baptised doesnt mean that your child wouldnt get to learn about GOd as most of his later counterparts may do mah. They may even also stray, despite infant baptism.. baptised or not baptised, is not the important thing here.. important thing is that they know OGd. before my ROM in 2004 i also used to calling them uncle n auntie for 8 years..was weird at first calling them pa n mum..but after a few times will get very used to it.. i felt esp happy when they referred to each other as pa n mum to me too.. like my PIL will say 'your mum says this..'..then my MIL will say 'your pa ...etc'

i've got my rings ready. custom made at my fren's shop. well, the bands are part of us being a married couple so i definitely want it showcased. juz like wedding gown, take during PS, but not wedding day wat, still wear it early for PS mah.
anw yah, personal preference and i've seen lots of couples' feature their very unique rings in their albums. well, not tt mine's that special but it holds a special meaning for me!

only thing abt bands is.. i was watching a wedding couples' mtv where they re-enact the guy's proposal.. but they forgot that they were wearing wedding bands.. so like, i found it funny cos aredi married but the guy proposing..?? hah. oh well, i think they forgot heehe.

Still thinking abt it. After the burst of budget on BS n photos, I felt extremely guilty. FH already compromised on having at FS, and huge spending on photos, I tot i shld at least compromise a bit on letting go the VG.

hmm..actually considering the fact that u r having a wedding luncheon..which might not take much more hours as compared to a normal wedding (from morn till night)..might be ok to let go of the package if u can get ur friend to help u do the video ba..see if u can get any videocam b4 u finalise ba..we also got a videocam from my office & on that day, assign it to a brother to help us capture some shots..haha..

I am sorry to hear about that. Cause my one is digital photos. But since u already fork out a large sum of money, try asking them again. Don't give up.ok? If using the hard method cannot, try using the soft method. (u know what i mean?) U tell them since I have already spend so much money on the photos, it is ridiculous to spend another $5k to get back my negatives. You keep my negatives also no use meh. I hope u can return back to me if possible. Ask ur hubby to go down with u and talk to them again. U try one more time and Wish u good luck !

Thanks for both of ur concern. Think I have to get two big cakes (one from bengalwan solo, and one from prima deli) and cut them up ourselves to know how it taste like. Hopefully, they also sell small pieces when I go down to the cake shop this coming Friday. If only sell 1 big cake, then no choice. I have to get 1 big cake for each week to celebrate mother's day lor. Hee Hee.

mothers day = sad for me as my mum's no longer around.. so i can only celebrate with MIL.. i used to get pearl necklace for MIL, when my mum's around, we bought cake or went to restaurant to eat.... this year, i am not sure how to celebrate as i cannot go out ( i can but very very very the troublesome with the clutches )... so maybe will get HB to go get some jewellery ( earrings maybe ) for MIL... any suggestion girls???

btw, yester after going to SGH i went to see the lawyer for the first time on my case ( the law firm tt advertises on TV... ).. then they say i may some fault too but perhaps only the minority but the case will definitely drag for months ... or even up to 1 yr also not surprisingly as this is how it works.. sometimes the TP or police may delay their reports and blar blar... sianz man.. but at least one burden is gone...

HOW TO BE PREGNANT?? - not sure if this is true or i sua ku... lets say your periods are constant and it starts regularly on the 10th of each month, to get the ovulation timing or to get pregnant, have sex like on 14th day on the start of your period, which is 24th of the month in this case.. have sex like on 24th - 27th should get you pregnant.... haha.. i sounds like ah siao huh.. thats what my TCM tells me as she was like asking "girl, you sure you NOT pregnant"... i was sayin.. err how i knoe.. i mean i never check ma.... and SGH takes xray on me weekly for the past 3 plus weeks so even if i am pregnant, my TCM says i wil hv to abort it!!!

but even thou the cakeshops provide free delivery..it's in the custom that the groom send the betrothal gifts to the bride's house..even if ur future hubby so not drive..he got to either rent a cab to bring the stuff over or probabl get someone with a car to drive him to ur house lor..cannot expect the delivery of the 40 boxes of cakes to be sent directly to ur mum's place leh..i think this u might want to discuss it out with ur parents or ur future in-laws lor..oh ya, do u have the soft copies of ur photos ready to share with us?i cant wait to see the PS photos..cheers~

okok..i guess it's a gd idea for u ba..maybe u can spend that $600 into the gifts for ur guests or food or whatever..unless urs is a day & night event, then i will suggest u keep the VG..if not, can get a friend to help out ba..do u have a videocam stand as well?can also fix it there during the registration when the guests start coming in then get someone to help out during ur march-in ba..catch up with u more tmrw lah..cheers~

adeline, my car accident was in march 2003 and i still haven't gotten my full insurance claim yet. so don't hold your breath ok? TP only sent me a letter last month to say 'we haven't reached any conclusions yet'.
