i will go back to jasvy lah.. dun believe in spending on invitation cards, which pple dump anyway.. RTP only with jasvy mah.. i'll be taking the maroon one too, my colleague used that one last year. i think it is nicer than the other one that they have for RTP..

anw, the card itself seems ok enuf so i will go back. juz bad service.. will put up w it. dun think need to see them so many times also.. haha..

panda, got some problem w my email, couldnt reply.. anw, the printers provide both cards and printing on inserts.. so i wun go find another.. but thanks!!

Talking about si dian jin.. was just at a goldsmith with mum that day, and i kaypoh, asked to see the packagin for si dian jin. THey told me that they will let me see the more modern one.. i also asked to see the traditional one.. The traditional one is... so traditional!! It was a heart shaped plastic box, like ferrero roche, bottom was red, top transparent (so can show off the gold) and inside got red cloth and red ribbons!! on the cover also got pic of dragon and phoenix in gold! me and mummy burst out laughing man.. the sales staff then told us thats why they only said they will show us the modern one..

da man: i asked the sales lady, she say more pple buy yellow gold cos got more resale value mah.. but dont think i will sell away my sidian jin lah..

Hmm, my plan is the same as Jen T. Intending to rsvp end Sep and send out invites in Oct. But I have mentioned to my frens now and then when we meet up for gathering so that they know my AD. Haha. Hmm, but it is good to rsvp earlier i feel, coz I just realise that 3 of my frens actually have another wedding dinner on my AD.

SDJ...mine is white gold..hehe.. coz i htink it's more practical to buy something tt i eventually WILL and CAN wear..

as for my mum..she insisted on buying me a set of yellow gold as dowry for me to put on on the AD..so i asked her to just get a nice pendant for me..to match with my existing old yellow gold which i haven worn for ages....another tip ar.... if go for gold shopping..go with mum will do...PLS dun have aunties etc coming along... (unless tt auntie is on ur side one) i almost fainted..coz my auntie went with us...and she was telling me and my mum.."huh..u only buy a pendant?? cannot...must buy one more set one!!"

i was sooo angry... but i just tell her dun need la..i got alot at home...use for tt day only ma..i was thinking "buy one more set..is my mum's money leh...not urs...so easy for u to say.. haha..." my objective is to dun wan her to waste $ on things i wont wear.. hehe..so... something just to share with everyone...

da man...ya..u betta bring her on the trip b4 any little ones come along...if not after tt no chance to go ar...she'll regret marrying u!! wakaka...den next time ur kid 20 yrs old liao...da wife will still be repeaating the story to ur kid... of how u rob her of her HM... wakakaka...

My hse wil not b ready til next year.. so tentative wil stay w both sides.. my parents and his parents lor.. We have already painted his room and cupboard already in.. jz that we haven confirm on the delivery of our bed.. and haven fix up the rod to hang the curtains at the window..

I got my cards from T-dragons. Last sat, when we went down to select the cards, the lady who served us, was rushing things. My hubby and I dont like to rush things, so we never let T-dragons to print the inserts.

My hubby got lobangs for inserts. so i let him settle.

As my hse is ready, so i just focus on the banquet. Now doing the MC script hehee

Mine was hotstamping. So basically after you pay the deposit and decided on the fonts etc, they will email you the draft template within a week. Thereafter, if you are ok, they will print it by 10 working days. Mine was faster actually, less than that.

For me,

I have alreadi 5 guests who tell me they have another weddings. So some will come and join for another one later, some just decide on one.

That's the prob about hot date!!!

Hopefully, I will settle my wine this weekend too. Have decided to get from Parker wines. Anyone getting from them too?

T-dragons told me 3-4 weeks to get the inserts. Nami, did u rem who serve you?

jen, is focal good? i tried to call but nobody picks up.

I got my wedding ablum too... surprised that my BS is so fast.

yar.. its slightly inaccessible.. but the px is prettie good.. if u print between 301-400 inserts.. its S$100.. much cheaper compared to t-dragon.. moreover i tot they sound abit uptight and busy when i called t-dragon to ask abt the rates.. but focal's ppl r quite nice.. hopefully they r as nice when i go dwn tis sat.. ;p ..

thank you for ur well wishes! it's actually tomorrow! but damn sad lah, coz wednesdays i always have conference call at 9pm. can't really go anywhere =( (boss did ask me if i want to skip the call though but i good girl said no)

but it was a good celebration during the food tasting. coz we jio our helpers out for food tasting as a bribe/treat for them. and they are my close friends anyway, so i take it i celebrated last friday already!

check with u gals, how come a few of u didn't use the cards provided by the hotel/restaurant? and do ur hotel has an appointed printer to print the inserts?

generally, how many cards do we need to print?

hmm my hotel did appoint a printer which is T Dragon. But i believe you can always do a comparison against other printers to see which one is a better deal. For me, I am lazy so didnt do that.
It depends on how much the hotel gives you. Usually it's around 70% of your confirmed tables. But you might not need that much esp for relatives coz they go by families. Frens would usually need more coz majority would be individuals. You will also need to include a few spare cards in case of any writing errors. So, I think the best is to come up with a namelist first so that you have a guage.

Wendy served me also. My hubby and I dont like her. Whereas there was another couple who was attended by another lady. Her service is much better. Clearer explanation.

Before we left, wendy kept reminding me that dont come down and collect the invitation cards unless she called me.

The designs for us to select are pathetic but we dont want to spend more on cards. So just make do with watever we have.

Kai: agree with you.. dont bring outsiders (i.e: out of nuclear family) unless you are really close to them... they add salt add whatever ah... can be a headache man..

Or since yellow gold has more resale value, maybe can still get gold but plate it white gold? It will then look nice and contemporary but yet got value..

I m going down city plaza today for my some what last chance to shop for heels. if cant find anything i like there, then i buy the pair i have considered at Americaya. My hub is mad at me for been so choosy.
Now is waiting for GDL day, then days will start to move very fast! hee hee!

anyway, talking abt "kaypo" relatives.. i fed up.. bcoz of their interferences, my family got chaotic and i spent unwarranted $180 on 50 chinese version banquet invites on sat.. =(

my silly uncles told my mum that we must give them chinese invites per TRADITION. wat freaking tradition is this??? both parents, fh and i have decided and placed order for all english invites a few days back..

my mum felt obliged to listen to them coz they were elders.. then i was kinda pissed and my dad scolded my mum for messing things up esp both parents agreed not to interfere with our wedding plans.. so things were kinda sour.. my mum was really sad..

but i really thank God for my fh.. he pacifies my parents by volunteering to print the chinese invites.. so all ends well.. except me.. i am really fed up abt the unnecessary expenditure!!!</font>

i hav tried calling the company recommended by my banquet is GERENIC PRINTING.. their service is good.. i call them to enquiry and say m too busy to drop by to look at the sample and they sent a depatch down to show me the sample of the printing.. so i think most pro i be using them.. hopeful i can settle the printing this week..
 
panalic, the elderly always wanted to follow traditions. that is the reason why i am also trying to find out the tradtitional way of writing the invite in chinese.. b'coz my dad's side would wan the invite to be worded in the traditional way.. if not, they will sure criticise &amp; upset my parents when they receive the cards...

hi diamond, if you want the traditional way, you should not be printing the invites liao.. coz the traditional way of sending out invites is to personalise and customise them through calligraphy on the red paper.. for traditional invites, the phrasing changes depending on who the invite is for.. wat the hotel provides these days are in fact NOT traditional.. </font>
