urgent advice on AD

BTB,
I am facing a situation if anyone can help.
My mum has already share her simple request for Guo Da Li - orange, si Dian Jin, ang po for pig trotter and 2 btl of wines. However MIL has prepared more than require like the candles, peanut Candy other food stuff. To prevent more quarrel btwn HTB and me. HTB take out items that is not required. However the candles currently is a huge issue. Cos my mum is not gg to lit (to begin she don't even know) and my MIL is definitely gg to lit the candles and want to cut of the wick to "stop" as we r having wedding lunch understand the candles are to lited by both sides and MUST be litted throughout.. So now how?? anyone can advise urgently... I am so stress and tense up

Always keep calm loh.. more is always better than less since its the giving party's positive gesture.
The candles can still be given - typically the guy side will give 2 sets of dragons and phoenix, and then girl side will return phoenix, and keep the dragon.

Its ok not to lit the candles if one of the family doesnt really follow the custom, many gatecrashing and fetching brides occur in hotels nowadays hence the candles are only exchanged and not lit . Remember, its all about tradition and in the end, upkeeping marriage is up to both of you (despite whatever people claims the candles can do *wink*)

Accordingly to the shifu who helped advice my wedding (he provided advises for our home, relatives business too) - the candles dont have to lit all the way - your MIL can cut the wick or extinguish the flame with a spoon. As long as dont blow the candle, its fine.

Hi, you can arrange to book a function room for the Brother gatecrash challenges. Usually it’s held like running man or similar with different station around the function room.
