I'm a Nov 2016 BTB, we're planning to have our dinner at Fullerton, Straits Room. We haven't booked the venue yet though, because I fell down while venue hunting and am now nursing a very injured foot. =.= Thankfully, I've already settled the bridal studio and I really liked Fullerton, so we might just be going with that.

I'm just feeling so overwhelmed by everything at the moment. I'm worried about our venue and I feel a little strange to have booked the bridal studio before the venue, lol. Also, since Fullerton is already booked on the date we originally wanted, we might be having our solemnization on a separate day from the dinner... which translates into extra cost that could have gone into the venue decor or wedding entertainment (live music) or photo booth. Fullerton is somewhat pricey, so it does limit our overall budget. Something has to give somewhere, but I don't know what I'm willing to cut back on at the moment.

On one hand, the wedding's still a year away, but on the other hand, my friends who are getting married are all set with the venue and everything. I don't even know whether we'll be having our solemnization on the same day!

Sorry, just had to drop a rant. My brain feels like it's going to explode.

I'm actually seriously considering it but I'm just scared that the elder relatives will be crushed that it's so... nondescript. I think they're expecting a meal at least. The problem is that out of our closest friends and families who will be there for the ROM, 2 are vegetarian, my fiance's side are Buddhists so they don't take beef and my maid of honour is Muslim. I think we'd like to find a nice, private dining room for everyone to sit down together for a meal after signing the papers but with all the dietary concerns, it's like searching for a venue all over again. Hello, need some help here. I am intending to hold wedding on sunday.

But cant decide lunch or dinner. We'll be intend to have a short 20min gatecrash and tea ceremony at both our homes, followed by rom at hotel. Was wondering if this schedule would be too rush for a lunch banquet?

I was considering having a wedding lunch on Sunday as well. I think it depends on how early everyone involved in the wedding is willing / able to wake up. You might also incur a fee if you need your MUA / photographer to come earlier. When I enquired about Fullerton, I was told that the wedding lunch duration is from 12pm to 4pm, so you'll need to cover hair and make up, tea ceremony and gate crashing all before 11am (considering travelling time to the hotel + the cocktail reception).

I guess it depends on logistics as well, for eg, how far you and your fiances' houses are from each other (if you're going to have tea ceremony at your respective places) and from the hotel (have to leave earlier in case of a traffic jam).

If you or anyone in your bridal party (bridesmaid / groomsmen, family members) have problems with waking up early, then it will be an issue. Otherwise, if you keep everything simple, I'd think that it's doable. As for me, my fiance and some of our bridesmaid / groomsmen are not morning people, so I decided to play it safe and go with a dinner instead. :p

haha.. not sure how the gown will turn out on me after it is altered.. dunno what hairstyle to go with it.. #firstworldproblems

Happy problems! :p Will you be having a MUA / hair stylist or are you going to do your own make-up and hair?

Don't worry too much about it. No matter what happens, you're still going to be the most beautiful person in the entire history of the world in your husband's eyes. :) (I know I'm talking big, I'd probably be equally or even more kanchiong when my time comes.)

Congrats!! :D

Depending on the number of hours you need. I have 2pg for 12 hours at 3k.. my 2vg is at 2.6k..
There are quite a few pg and vg that are between 2-3k..

Anyone has feedback on

1) Tim Palace
2) Shin Yeh

So far this is some of the few we've shortlisted but no much review online
Hi
If you do not want any negative and embarrasing moments , here is an incident just happen on 7 November 2015 at Tim Palace Safra Club TP. sadly , we cannot rewind and redo the wedding function. we sent feedback to the Senior Manager but no reply at all also. Anyway whatever it is , the wedding dinner was rather embassring as our relatives and friend had to wait and ask and wait and ask for refill of liquor , beer or red wine. Some decided not to ask again and left the dinner after feedback to us. Service was horrifying right from waitress to lady wearing black jacket and so is the man in black jacket.

We saw the place and got the place confirmed as it was really nice. Contract stated verbal agreement and reminders also. But in the end , Ang pow box and registration guest card - had to ask and was told to bring your own on the day itself! had to keep giving ang pow to get just even light sauce or refill of the drinks.

That's terrible, so sorry to hear that. >.< I have some friends getting married next year and I think one of them was looking at Tim Palace. I'll be sure to let her know about this. I hope you'll be able to get some form of compensation from them. It's horrible to act so poorly on someone's big day. *hugs*

We were thinking the schedule for dinner would nt be so tight for the morning events. However, from the guests point of view, they might prefer lunch? Cos the next day is working day etc.. Pros and cons for lunch n dinner.

Oh yeah, that's true about Sunday. In that case, maybe you can just try to work out the timing and see if it can fit comfortably. From what others have said, it's definitely possible and since your gatecrashing isn't too long, that will definitely help. :)

One good thing about lunch is that you get to spend a lot of quality, romantic time as newly weds. Most of the time, dinner banquets are so exhausting since it takes up the whole day. At least this way, you'll get to relax much earlier.

Either way, I'm sure everything will work out well! Congrats!!

Anyone got any comment or review for
1) qian xi hilltop garden @ bb csc
2) hotel mirama peach garden

Have you went down and take a look at orchid ballroom? Nice?

Yeah I went to see before I signed the contract with them. I'm not into those pillarless or High ceiling kind of ballroom.
So I guess different people have different kind of standard.
For me it's all right. And their package is pretty good also.

Just attended a wedding last month @ lvl 4 banquet hall BB CSC.
The hall is spacious with high celling, the reception area was really cold... they seem to blast the aircon . Food was nice as well.

My htb and me shortlisted quite a few good review company that offer less than $3k for both PG & VG package.
Haven't got time to meet them all yet.
You can PM me if you are intrested :)

Thanks ladies for all your help!

I'm thinking most likely I will get only 1 pg and VG each since mine is jus gonna be a smallish wedding. Only looking at 20 tables.
Now also thinking if I should scrap photo booth!

If you get unique colours.. They have a bundle of pg,vg and photobooth at very affordable price.. you should check them out at BOWS.

I allocated 45min for tea ceremony at each place. What time did your friend start her first item (eg gatecrash)

gatecrash completed by 8:30am.. then followed by tea ceremony at both places. I guess it helps that the couple parents stay near each other.

Btb in oct 2016. Date was "count" by a master. Wedding date may conflict my work schedule. Anyone have similar experience can share how you manage to juggle both wedding prep and work?

Any recommandation for prewedding counselling and medical checkup?

I guess you need to inform your bosses early? At least there can be some advance planning?

This is me exactly! I also got dates in oct / nov which is my peak period at work. So we decided to have our rom first this month on a "good" date. My fiancé is planning almost everything cos I'm quite busy now. It will be a very small and casual affair at a cafe.

I didn't tell my bosses (don't dare) cos I feel wedding is my personal affair.. I can 'choose' to have it in any day., don't have to follow the auspicious date or just wait one more year.

I think it's ok if u try to keep it to a one day simple affair (this means no extra days spent diying stuff or planning) and keep guests down to reduce coordination.

But do bear in mind that still have to meet your solemniser and go down to ROM so that will be extra time needed.

I guess it also depends on the nature of your work.

Can try REACH counseling for pre marriage counseling. We only went for 2 sessions so far but pretty good!
