Eunice and Daniel’s Intimate Pre-Wedding Shoot in the Romantic and Magical Wilderness
Sneak a peek at Eunice and Daniel’s intimate pre-wedding shoot in the wilderness, filled with romance and a magical sunrise.
Eunice Annabel Lim, Cabin Crew, and Daniel Thong, Wealth Planning Manager were destined to for one another. The lovebirds first crossed paths with one another when they were teenagers and remained as friends for a long time until the stars aligned in 2016 and they became an item. After a not-so-surprise proposal in Japan, Eunice and Daniel embarked on an intimate pre-wedding shoot in the secluded wilderness, filled with the magic and romance of the raw outdoors, to commemorate their love and commitment to one another.
Share with us your story. How did the two of you meet?
Eunice: We met 13 years ago. We had several mutual friends and added each other on Facebook. Eventually, we met for the first time at my secondary school carnival and bumped into each other frequently around Cineleisure. We would find ourselves constantly in the same place, at the same time. However, we were both attached then and remained friends for a long time until 2016.
What drew you to each other?
Eunice: He always had a great sense of style and he’s very good looking! We also share the same sense of humour that others may find not understand.
Daniel: I was attracted to her beauty and we had similar interests which made me eager to know more about her. But besides her appearance, she was also very knowledgeable.
What is it about your partner that you love the most?
Eunice: At times, my emotions tend to get the better of me, however, Daniel is extremely patient and never gets angry. After being with him for so long, I’ve learnt to see things from his perspective and changed for the better. I have truly grown as an individual thanks to him.
Daniel: I admire her compassion for those in need. She always puts others ahead of herself and treats everyone fairly and equally. These qualities inspire me to be kinder and more empathetic to those around me.
What was the proposal like?
Eunice: We went on a holiday in Japan and Daniel proposed while we were in Kyoto. I already saw it coming because while we were organising our personal belongings in our hotel room, he had emptied his coin pouch and the engagement ring fell out as well! We also rented Kimonos to wear in Kyoto and Daniel had even engaged a professional photographer for a couple photoshoot, which was very unlike him. I pretended not to know anything since planning proposals can be a very daunting task and I didn’t want him to feel disappointed.
How did you plan for your pre-wedding shoot?
Our amazing styling team at Hey Stranger came up with several ideas for the pre-wedding shoot. Daniel is pretty camera shy and we wanted to shoot in a secluded area. Hence, we went with the idea of a romantic outdoor shoot, literally at an abandoned open field. The location was beautiful with overgrown trees, ferns and mosses. We couldn’t have found such a dreamy spot, with the sunrise in the background, without the help of Hey Stranger.
For the second location, we wanted the theme to reflect our everyday life. Being together for seven years, we tend to stay home a lot and enjoy the little things like cooking and running errands together.
Walk us through your pre-wedding shoot. What was it like that day and did you have fun?
We got ready before sunrise and lost our way a little to the outdoor shoot location. When we arrived, we were amazed by the set-up and flower arrangements. It was breathtaking and looked like a scene from a movie. It exceeded our expectations and we couldn’t be happier! Our photographer and videographer, Sarah and Reuben, were so encouraging and we felt comfortable throughout the shoot. This will definitely stay as one of our core memories as we had to kiss almost a thousand times that day!
Share with us any obstacles or funny moments you’ve encountered during the shoot.
As with every outdoor photoshoot, the heat took quite a toll on us. Thankfully we could hide from the sun in the shadier parts of the field. Hey Stanger also provided us with a bottle of champagne for the shoot, however, it popped a little too early and caught everyone off-guard. The team managed to improvise and successfully captured the entire incident. There are even photos of our unprepared faces that we can always look back on and laugh about!
If you could share three pieces of advice about pre-wedding shoots with couples who will be embarking on theirs, what would it be?
Remember to have ample rest the night before and stay hydrated throughout the shoot. It’ll also be great to have one or two bridesmaids around to help out with the gown and makeup. Most importantly, be yourself and leave the rest to the professionals, they will not disappoint!
