Eunice and Jeremy’s Lively Wedding at Monti at 1-Pavilion

Eunice and Jeremy showcased their fun-loving and quirky selves throughout their wedding celebration, as their loved ones came together to bless their union.

Eunice and Jeremy sat across one another at work and after spending some time together, they discovered that while they were complete opposites in almost every aspect of their being, they shared a mutual quirkiness that only they understood. Love blossomed between them, and after spending time apart in a long-distance relationship, Jeremy sealed the deal by popping the all-important question.

To celebrate their happy union, Eunice and Jeremy planned a boisterous and lively celebration at Monti at 1-Pavilion, sharing their fun-loving personalities with their families and friends.

Share your story with us. How did the two of you meet?

Jeremy: We met at our workplace and had a forbidden office romance. She made the first move and caught me off guard with a conversation on a rather controversial subject matter. After spending some time together, I found myself drawn to her quirkiness and the rest, as they say, is history.

What drew you to each other? What is it about your partner that you love the most?

Jeremy: I love that she makes me laugh, which is quite uncommon as I am usually the one who makes people laugh. I also love her uncanny sense of humour and unfiltered thought process, which may seem random at the time, but eventually will make sense if you spend some time to digest it.

What was the proposal like?

Eunice: It started off with Jeremy saying, “Let’s go and measure your finger”. Then, I proceeded to design my dream ring, which of course is a mermaid ring. After that, my father and his team produced it.

Jeremy: I bought her a GoPro for her birthday, and I knew she would do an “unboxing” video, so I hid the ring inside the packaging and waited for the right moment to strike. I took her to a staycation and handed her the gift. True enough, she started setting up the camera to do an “unboxing” video and I kneeled behind her, waiting for her to discover the ring and me kneeling down.

Tell us about your wedding day. What was the day like?

We decided to wed at Monti at 1-Pavilion as it was the only place that impressed us on first sight. The view was amazing, and what attracted us the most was the epic boat entrance – that instantly made us want to seal the deal.

On the wedding day, there were a few hiccups as we couldn’t proceed with our rooftop solemnisation due to the weather, but everything turned out better than expected. We were super excited that we managed to have lots of fun during the wedding, dancing our hearts out. The music was beyond awesome, and the food was great too.

You and your bridal party wore traditional Chinese outfits during the gatecrash. Tell us all about it!

Eunice: I’ve always loved the traditional Chinese Han style outfits and I didn’t want to go for the conventional qun kua like everyone else. So, I shopped our outfits from Taobao as I couldn’t find any available for rent in Singapore. It took me quite a while to find the perfect outfit as pricing and quality had to be in consideration. When I finally found the outfits, I was super happy that I managed to find the perfect Han style outfits with top notch quality and amazing embroidery work for our wedding.

What did your family/friends have to say about your wedding day?

Our families were beyond thrilled to be able to celebrate with us in person, especially Eunice’s family, who came all the way from Kuala Lumpur. The timing was perfect as the borders opened just in time for them to travel to Singapore.

Share with us the most memorable moment of your wedding?

Jeremy: It would have to be the look of pure bliss on her face, a clear indication that she was fully enjoying every single moment of our wedding.

Eunice: The most memorable moment was of course our Dua Towkay dance! We had so much fun, and our guests were also having fun!

What is one lesson you’ve learned from your wedding planning that you’d like to share with other couples?

Trust your gut feeling! Just do whatever that makes the both of you happy. Friends’ and especially, families’ opinions might affect you during your wedding planning phase, but try to take their opinions with a pinch of salt and do everything that makes you happy. It is the most important day of your lives, the last thing you’d want is to regret not doing certain things on hindsight.
