A Modern East Meets West Wedding Styled Shoot at HAUS217 with Vynella Events

Be inspired by the richly textured blend of cultures and textures in this beautiful styled wedding at HAUS217, blooming with lush florals.

When stylist Vynella Events dropped this gorgeous styled shoot in our inbox, we knew we had to share it with you. Bursting with vibrant jewel tones, gorgeous florals, and exotic East-meets-West influences, the styled shoot showcases wedding decor concepts full of rich textures, intricate patterns, and vibrant hues.

“We envisioned that this shoot would be brought to life by collaborating with only the finest bridal vendors from our Little Red Dot, and so we joined forces with over ten amazing partners to conceptualise a wedding styled shoot which was extensively photographed over two weeks at one of Singapore’s most popular wedding venues, HAUS217,” shares Vynella Events. Designed in stained wood, stone, and large textured glass that allows lots of natural light to flow in, HAUS217 is a modular event space that’s perfect for intimate weddings. Moroccan design often incorporates natural materials like wood, stone, and ceramic, and HAUS217’s nature-inspired space was the perfect setting for the shoot.

“We created exotic Moroccan-themed décor featuring wood, rattan, gold accents, burnt orange, and deep greens – balanced with colours of lighter tones to create an overall harmonious texture,” says Vynella Events. “The great thing about this theme is that you can make just about any colour combination work – if you select one colour you really want and pair it with a similar shade and an accent colour, you’ll find it hard to go wrong.”

A Moroccan-inspired wedding is all about creating a warm and intimate atmosphere, and the team wanted guests to feel welcome right from the start. Rattan screens formed a textured backdrop for the reception table to greet guests, styled with a wedding stationery suite designed by Papypress. Welcome signs and an organic floral arch framed the entrance to the space and set the tone for a beautiful celebration. “Deconstructed floral arches have recently became a staple for couples to say “I Do” underneath – but it can also be used as a statement décor piece for a grand entrance,” say Vynella Events. “Set the tone by pairing this trendy décor with oversized signages featuring your monogrammed initials, or fun and quirky welcome quotes.”

The team created an elegant ceremony space with a textured white backdrop that echoed the wood panelling in HAUS217. Gorgeous floral installations of blush and apricot roses and sophisticated white orchids cascaded wildly across the backdrop and spring up from floral hedges, accented with lush foliage of eucalyptus and ivy. For ceremony seating, the team chose rattan-backed chairs for a warm, Moroccan touch.

For this shoot, model Wishlyn Wong wore gowns from Silhouette the Atelier’s new Spring collection. Inspired by the beauty of new beginnings, the designers spent hundreds of hours meticulously crafting the gowns from luxurious materials and adorning them with pearls and Swarovski crystals that mimic the dew in spring. For the ceremony, Wishlyn wore an ethereal fit and flare gown with an illusion bodice with floral embellishments falling gracefully down to its train, and fluttering cape sleeves in delicate tulle. Makeup maestro Ling’s Palette completed her look with clean and sleek hair and soft glow makeup with defined eyes.

A tea ceremony space is styled with vibrant and bold blooms such as roses and peonies in in classic oriental colours of red and pink. Model Wishlyn wore svelte lace cheongsams with the modern low back, romantically adorned with floral embellishments and crystal buttons. A bolder red lip and an elegant low bun transformed Wishlyn’s look for the tea ceremony, completed with hair accessories by Gioielli. An elegant tiered cake blooming with delicate flowers by Salwah Omar Cakes took centre stage.

To create a cosy, earthy vibe at the table, the team used rich colours for their table linens, and added texture and visual interest with patterned dinnerware, gold cutlery, and bold, colourful florals for a Moroccan touch. They also used lanterns and ornate candleholders to add a warm, ambient glow to the tables. For the reception, Wishlyn wore a ballgown with floral embellishments and cascading tulle ruffles.

Blending cultures could be a beautiful and unique way to celebrate your special day. With bold colours, intricate patterns, and warm and inviting feel, exotic cultural infusions would make for an unforgettable celebration.
