A Minimalist and Airy Wedding Styled Shoot in The Sky at 1-Arden
Come with us, as we explore a brand new wedding venue situated high up in the sky, right in the heart of the CBD.
Discovering new and exciting venues for weddings is always a joy, and it was exactly what we felt when we visited one of Singapore’s latest wedding and lifestyle venues, 1-Arden. Situated in the now iconic, 51-storey and 280-metre tall CapitaSpring building in the CBD, 1-Arden spans across four levels and boasts four enlivening dining concepts.
Owned by 1-Group, Singapore’s leading F&B, lifestyle and hospitality group that is known for their portfolio of elegant and unique restaurants, cafes, bars and clubs, 1-Arden is no different from its sister venues. We set our sights on Kaarla & Oumi, a dual concept space located on Level 51 that’s perfect for a sky-high wedding, and collaborated with veteran wedding vendors Spellbound Weddings, Antelope Studios, The Ivory Bridal and Autelier Makeup to style the elegant and modern venue, and bring our vision to life.
Chic and luxurious, Kaarla & Oumi features dark wood furnishings and ceiling, with an open kitchen in full view of its guests, and floor-to-ceiling windows that run the length of the restaurant, letting in the gorgeous afternoon sunlight and city night lights, allowing guests to take in the unparalleled views of the bay throughout the day.
Air was the theme of Anna’s, founder of Spellbound Weddings, styling. Inspired by Kaarla & Oumi’s location on the top floor of CapitaSpring, Anna worked with neutral colours reminiscent of the sky and created an airy, wavy floral structure with cascading white flowers for the table centrepieces.
For the solemnisation area, located outside at the outdoor garden, Anna erected two arches decorated with white hydrangeas and wisterias, cascading green foliage and LED lights for a romantic glow as the sun sets. We were blessed with bright and sunny weather that day, perfect for beautiful photos in the outdoor edible food garden. However, as the day drew closer to sunset, the sky started to turn cloudy and the gorgeous, warm sunset glow that would have bestowed the beautifully set up solemnisation area with a romantic glow, didn’t show up after all.
Our model, Jia Le, was a vision to look on as she modelled two incredibly romantic dresses from The Ivory Bridal. Handpicked to complement the elegant interiors of Kaarla & Oumi and the lush outdoor garden, Jia Le wore off-the-shoulder, figure-showing dress with whimsical floral appliqués with a flared out mermaid skirt with long sleeves indoors, and switched into a romantic ballgown with a sweetheart bustier neckline for the comparatively warmer outdoors. The delicate flower appliqués on both dresses and the modern yet whimsical hair and makeup done by Autelier Makeup gave the attires an undeniable sense of romance and grace befitting the venue.
