Vintage-Inspired Bohemian Chic Wedding Styled Shoot
Get inspired by the bold colours of this vintage bohemian wedding styled shoot set in dreamy lalang fields and against striking heritage architecture.
When this styled shoot landed in our inbox, we fell in love with its bold colours and vintage bohemian vibe! Conceptualised by Stitch by Stitch Co. and Just Like Magic Co., the shoot recreates the stylishly carefree vibes of the bohemian seventies and the chic glamour of the fifties. Let the photographs transport you into the wild desert nostalgically lit by golden sunlight, and then bring you on a journey into the past with the vintage glamour of Old Shanghai.
“This styled shoot showcases how one bride, styled and photographed by the same team, can bring two extremely different moods and looks,” share the creative team behind the project. “We hope that these looks will inspire couples to go bold and choose a theme beyond the romantic and fairy tale-like.”
The indie, bohemian themed set was styled in the lalang fields in Jurong Lake Gardens, where the neutral tones and the light through the wild grass gave the set an exotic desert feel. Lalu from Wulala! complemented the desert scene with an earthy set up of rich textures and warm terracotta and burgundy tones.
Photographer Renee from Just Like Magic Co. chose to capture the scene during the best time for soft and golden backlight, illuminating the rich details of real bride Hailie’s wedding dress beautifully. Created by Stitch by Stitch Co., the colourful bohemian dress was inspired by Hailie’s bold personality and style, and features embroidered florals, a bohemian fringe, and detachable sleeves. Valda from Makeup Maestro Wedding completed Hailie’s look with a braided top ponytail, a subtle dusty pink lip, and makeup that emphasised her eyes.
The styled shoot’s second set of photographs intrigues with its moody shadows and vintage glamour, bringing to life Old Shanghai high fashion. Hailie wore an elegant and classic cheongsam in a striking red by Stitch by Stitch Co., and her chic look was completed with a high bun and curled bangs, a retro cat eye, and sultry red lips by Valda.
“Our decision to photograph this gown in Chinatown was one made with ease,” shares Renee. “The beautiful traditional Chinese architecture set the mood for the hand-embellished gown to boldly reflect high fashion in the 1950s.” Hailie accessorised her gown with a retro beaded bag and matching red pumps, and Lalu added a touch of mystery and glamour with an oriental fan.
