Eve and Scott’s Bright and Cheery MacRitchie Reservoir Wedding Solemnisation
MacRitchie Reservoir might not be first wedding venue you’d think of, but Eve and Scott pulled off a beautiful celebration there in a bright and cheery palette of peaches and cream, with the help of caterer and stylist OC Weddings.
Eve, 26, and Scott, 29, founded the photography marketplace OneThreeOneFour together to help couples find wedding photographers for overseas shoots. Their own wedding celebrations were held in the lush greenery of MacRitchie Reservoir, styled to rustic perfection by OC Weddings, who also took care of the catering.
How did the two of you meet?
Scott: We first met during our university days in SMU.
What’s one of the things you love most about your partner?
Eve: I was attracted to him because I felt comfortable whenever I was with him. I felt like I wanted to share more about myself with him, and I also loved it when he shared more about himself with me. One of the things that I love most about Scott is how he takes care of me. He would give me massages whenever I’m tired. I really love all the little things he does for me day to day.
What was the proposal like?
Eve: Months prior to the wedding, we were totally swarmed with work when Scott surprised me one day with a pair of air tickets to South Korea!
Two weeks later, we’re in Jeju-do. We were in the forest enjoying the lush greenery, and he gave me a long hug. Suddenly, he knelt down and popped the question. I was overjoyed and left speechless, but I kept nodding my head.
What was the theme of your wedding?
Eve: I wanted a rustic woodland theme. We had OC Weddings to help us with both food and styling. I must say, they did a wonderful job and transformed the venue beautifully. We loved it!
How was working with OC Weddings?
Eve: OC Weddings provided the food, the setup of tables and chairs, and the styling. It’s so fuss-free! The best thing is that they have an awesome team to work with! The team were super friendly and helpful. We told them the theme I had in mind and they designed it exactly the way we wanted. The florals and styling are amazing. The entire rustic woodland styling of the venue plus the buffet setup is just so pretty. We really love the whole styling of our solemnisation, from the table setups to the chairs, to the florals, to the decor and props. They even made great use of the venue like using the huge wooden bench to display the dessert items! The food is great as well! My personal favourites are the grilled scallop canapé and smoked duck with melon!
What I like best is how the team is super meticulous and are fast with their replies. I loved knowing that I had a team I could count on to take care of my wedding solemnisation.
What was your wedding day like?
Eve: I remember I was feeling pretty stressed out about remembering my vows. While walking back to our solemnisation venue after a short photoshoot, Scott and I kept reciting our vows!
What was the most memorable moment of your wedding?
Eve: Besides the exchange of our vows, I loved that we could take our time and enjoy the session, chatting and laughing with my friends, with good food at a beautiful venue. It was a really relaxing atmosphere!
Could you tell us the cost of your wedding, and your number of guests?
Scott: There were about 50 guests attending our wedding solemnisation. The entire session in the morning costs in the range of $3300, for the entire wedding venue setup, styling, and food.
