The price for wedding dinner banquet has gone up so fast???
My fiancee and I originally booked a wedding banquet at York Hotel(AD on 20 Sept 2007). Due to some unforeseen circumstances, we have to change our plans.
We have actually negotiated quite a good package with our planner. Anyone interested please leave me a msg or email me at [email protected]. Will get back to you on the details.

2006/07 Wedding Pormotional Wedding Package
- Hold at Carlton Hall at $578 nett for min. 24 tables with 1 reserved table(can still add in more tables if needed)
- 9 course dinner for weekdays
- Complimentary 1 20 litre barrel of beer
- Complimentary ivory seat covers for all dining chairs
- complimentary usuage of 1 LCD projector with screen
- corkage charge will be waived for up to maximum of 2 bottles of red wine per table brought in
- Should guaranteed attendance increased to 25 tables 1 month prior to event, free flow of beer from 7pm-11pm
- Pick 1 or more* of the following at no additional cost:-
1. 6 course food tasting for 10 persons
2. 1 20 litre barrel of beer
3. Additional 1 night stay at Tower Honeymoon Suite with breakfast the following morning
4. Upgrade to Deluxe Honeymoon Suite with breakfast the following morning

I just hold my wedding in York hotel thus anyone need more envelope to put their invitation card? i hv excess envelope- red in colour abt 10pcs. letting go at FOC. do email to me: [email protected] ,buyer hv to bear the postage cost.

I be having my dinner too at carlton hall next year, there was only 1 lcd at the side of the ballroom, i hav friends whom attended the dinner there, complaining about unable to see the montage at all.did u had another projector for the montage to cater for the other side of the guests?if u hav, can u share ur contact with me?

When is ur AD next year? I will be having mine in Nov 2008, and also looking into York's wedding package. I have an appointment with the Snr Sales Mgr tomorrow (Sat) as my HTB has not seen the place and ballroom.
I am looking at Rosemarie Hall with abt 15 tables, so I will have space to play around with.
Can you share with me on what other factors did you take into consideration before actually deciding and confirming on York Hotel? I am pretty keen with this hotel's package and the offered bigger room (Rosemarie Hall), but am still thinking if there may b any other factors I need to also consider before making the final decision... :-{

Tracy is my coordinator. I have given her the necessary details for a confirm booking of Rosemarie Hall for my AD on 1 Nov 2008, but yet to hear from her when she is ready with her contract for us to sign and make the deposit. Think I shall call her on Monday. If you are not happy with ur current coordinator, why dun you change to Tracy? It is better to change nw than later nearing ur AD.
I do know there is a bigger ballroom than Rosemarie Hall which is Carlton Hall, but I do not meet the min. table requirement for Carlton.
I believe you should know they are undergg renovation nw till arnd May. So guess there isn't much I have to really decide with Tracy on my choice decisions nw such as theme deco, wedding favours, etc. as Tracy said after the renovation there will b changes to Rosemarie Hall and their wedding favours. So my HTB said to visit the hotel again arnd June to see the newly renovated hall. They are also renovating the Deluxe Bridal Suite. Both of us are hoping for a newer look to the hotel, for a better impression to our guests. Afterall, York Hotel is a pretty old hotel.
Which package did you go for, Peach or Evergold? My HTB and I have chosen Peach package but will want to upgrade our Tower Suite to the Deluxe Suite as it is bigger and has the privacy of the couple's bed area. I did ask Tracy if she could just upgrade the suite for us FOC, she said I have to top-up $. Do you know if FOC upgrade can be given for suites? Or is there anyway you can help me test-ask your coordinator on this?
The only thing I did not like abt YH's package is that, it does nt have Guests Signature Book and Ang Pow box. Perhaps you can share with me on what additional perks you managed to get from your coordinator, that I can try to ask from Tracy too? Appreciate it.

my package is the basic peach package,think if u go for evergold package u shou hav a better room as in ,upgraded room.u can ask tracy too.i think if u wait for me to ask ,u have to wait a long time for the reply as my coordinator is very very very slow in replying at times,irritates me.
i signed up during wedding fair,the perks are not that fantastic actually.think i have some 15bottles of wine, 1 free table(because use uob card to signup) and everyting else is similar to when u did not sign up during wedding fair.
yah they dun provide guest book n angbao box,but these tings are quite minor,as my fren did her own box and some1 give her a guest book as gift hehe.

After some calculation, it is somewhat cheaper to take the Peach Blossom package and jz upgrade to the same room that is given in the Evergold package, rather than to sign up for Evergold itself as the only difference in the 2 packages is the suites and the additional Abolone dish, which is not a 'must' for us.

ermmm their wedding favors are not that bad actually if u r comparing to some 5star hotels,which give those very normal sweets in bottle etc.

To your knowledge, may I ask when was the completion of the renovation for Rosemarie Hall?
Because my Coordinator told me that Rosemarie Hall is going to be renovated and the whole hotel's renovation will be done by around June 08. And the last time I went York Hotel was just last month, January.

Hi Suzuki gal, Rosemarie hall was completed around April 07 when we last went there to sign out contract for the wedding dinner this year. Maybe they are re-renovating it. Anyway I am asking our York Hotel coordinator Cheryl and will let you know again? When is your wedding and who is your coordinator? We have signed up for Carlton hall then and wanted to know if there might still be ongoing renovation works nearer to our wedding date. My wedding date is on 8 Jun 08 and would need the hall to be ready by then. (++.)

Hi there! Any comments on their food? Ya many people haven't been to York cos I was asking around, neither have I till I went to have a look at their ballroom. Like carlton ballroom but may not have enough to meet their min requirements.

Especially now they are going thru' renovation as well, she ought to have a newer look after all the renovation is completed this May/June. Many may not have heard of York Hotel perhaps due to her location and she is under the Goodwood Park Group, so it also depends on how much people are aware of their hotels in Singapore. York Hotel has been around for a very long time already, more than 15 or 20 years.
Well anyway if you think you can't meet the min. for Carlton Hall, you can look into Rosemarie Hall. I too, am using Rosemarie. When is ur AD?

I feel that we ought to be happy about the choices we make in life for ourselves and not because of what others will say or comment, especially when this time round it is our Big Special Day.
YH may be a 4-Star hotel, but it is afterall under the Goodwood Park Group. There are also many other small or even smaller hotels out there that are under the big names of some hotel groups. So you should be proud and happy of your decision on what you & your partner make.

Anyone tried asking for more invitation cards after you sign on the dotted line?
My sis who signed with York Hotel last year were entitled to 70% of the cards and after calculation, it was about 126 and when she requested them to round up to 130, the hotel actually said you will have to pay for that 4 pieces of cards if you really want!
I was like, huh? Are they really so strict on this? I mean they print the cards in bulk of thousands and asking for just 4 more shouldn't be too difficult right?
I guess negotiations are really hard after you signed on...

Mine's at Rosemarie Hall with the smaller package but we upgraded our suite to the Evergold bridal suite as its bigger and nicer. So if u wana upgrade to the Evergold package, I also dono if they have another of the same bridal suite for u.. you may wana check out with ur coordinator

I just held my wedding 2 weeks ago in York Hotel and my husband and I were very pleased with their service. My coordinator is Jackie. He is a nice guy and really tries his best to accomodate to our needs and requests.
My guests commented the foods served were of very big portion and very nice. And most of all, the whole operation team, Rendy, Steven, Nelson and Andrew had did a great job for us.
Really appreciate their assistances on our big day and making ours a successful wedding.
