Hi folks,
The strategy for payments depends on what you want: points, cash back or cash rebates.
If you are okay with all three, my suggestion is Standard Chartered Manhattan Card that provides 5% cash rebate on the next quarter capped at $300 rebate for previous quater. That translates to pay $6000 max if you want 5% cash rebate. Since it is 1 couple, 2 person, sign up for 2 cards. You may need to ask siblings, friends for additional help if you want to pay all by Manhattan Card. As the market rate for deposit is also $3000, you may want to consider using the same card.

Hi SY&CC, thank you so much for all your advice!!! Shall see what we can do tat best benefit us.. but we are also able to pay by diff credit cards right?? Am thinking of using my bf's amex to pay coz i think it's very hard to waived off the annual subscription fee right??
or maybe we would just use our UOB card... den convert to points for him to pump petrol.. lolx!!

If you have gone through the normal application method (i.e. post or fax), it will take you 14 working days.
If you need to get the card very urgently, you should apply directly to their sales team. That is how I did it. It took them 4-5 working days to get the card to me.
