Hmmmm... Just wondering if guys or girls can share.

CMIIW if guy like to have space in the life.
They dont like to give surprises. Sooner or later, the crush feeling will fade due of cycle of the relationship.

They will more stress out of the important (for girl) dates to be memorized.

They have commitment to be fulfilled

Questions for married guy: What do u like the most from marriage? accompanion?
If u can choose, will u choose to be single or married? Why?

Please share about ur mind

Thanks

1) What do I like most from marriage?

To share my life with the one I really want to grow old with. Marriage is just a natural step in the relationship.

2) If u can choose, will u choose to be single or married?

Of course I can choose. I chose to marry my wife.

3) Why?

I don't want to live my life without her. And because I made the right choice and commitment in 1). There's synergy in the marriage. We share more happiness and sorrow together as husband and wife.

u dun need to get married to share ur life... i feel some just cohabit.

but marriage i feel is just to be responsible, u dun wan ur woman to be termed a "mistress" u wan to give her a proper title

I would still choose to be married it's to give my wife a sense of security also.

cohabit or not is not so simple.
The values of the couple must be aligned. Also, they have to consider the feelings of their parents.

If 2 are so happy together, would signing a piece of paper ruin the happiness? If not, then why would one want to cohabit instead of marry if they are so sure and happy together? Why need to remain single status and hurt their parents by cohabit.

Every action that we do, we are not an island. We think also of the feelings of our loved ones.

I did not marry out of responsibility nor commitment to me wife. That didn't really changed from dating days. Rather, it is a recognition from the folks. I know its important to them and for my wife.

marriage allows the government to be involved... reward u with little perks, make it difficult for u to end things (divorce), but throw u hdb incentives...

the only benefit of marriage on paper are to do with raising a family n housing. nothing more...

hi doll,
there is nothing duh about what i say. just like u assume no one refers to the gf as a mistress, im just pointing out tt maybe there are ppl referring her as tt, just tt maybe u dun know. what's wrong?

as such, some ppl may think tt it is ok to cohabit. but there are ppl who doesnt think tt is ok. it leaves a bad impression to some ppl. it is very difficult to say tt we shld ignore what ppl say. cos we r human and most of e time, yes, we r affected vy what ppl think of us.

sm, yes, it is not nice to call other ppl names. i know that but we r not saints and i shld think it is human to gossip, judge and talk. dun tell me u r so sainty tt u never gossip bout ppl behind their backs? we often know what is e right thing to do but how many of us can really refrain fr talking bout ppl?

why bother on what people say if what 'you' are doing makes u happy...
for me, i will ponder on people words if it make sense and if there is any that i should make correction or improve on.. if not, i will ignore.

i find people who cares a lot on what others say or gossip are not living a life for themselves...

strawberryshortcake,

Of course I do gossip .. especially about the moaners and whiners in this forum..

But then I NEVER resort to calling people names, behind their back .. If I need to call people name, I will call it in their faces.

When we decide to call people mistresses or slut or arsehole.. or whatever.. it reflects more on ourselves than other people.

I just find your logic of "we are not saint" and therefore we can be forgiven for calling other people names or because we are humans therefore we will do wrong.. and therefore we just do wrong? What kind of logic is that?

Yes, sometimes we cannot control ourselves. And yes, we are humans and we commit mistake.. But at least if we do wrong, the least we can do is to stop and not to repeat the mistake instead of justifying that as humans we cannot control ourselves.

to get married or not, it really depends on the different phases of the life you are in.

If you are starting your family and wanted to raise children - then I would say getting married is a natural choice as it gives legitimacy to the whole family structure.

If you are not thinking of raising children (and both agreed) then really marriage is really more of the "status" and acceptance for other people..

You can co-habit for all you care if that is acceptable to both of you and acceptable to both your families..

i think there are pple in this forum who have not found their identity and place in life yet, and are constantly seeking approval/acceptance or whatever u wanna call it...

when u're do the things tat makes u happy in life, it doesn't matter wat others say. besides, it's damn stupid to try to please pple whom u dun need to please in the first place...

some pple really think they are more important than they really are... they think the whole world is watching them. talk abt insecurity!

Strawberryshortcake, DUH is for your mentality, not just what you said since you are insistent in knowing haha

Your one post is full of contradiction anyway, and I know I do not have to take you seriously because you are logic challenged. For example, on one hand, you said "it is human to gossip, judge and talk". This means we should dismiss such talks. Then why on earth did you also say that "it is very difficult to say tt we shld ignore what ppl say. cos we r human and most of e time, yes, we r affected vy what ppl think of us"???

The mentality to find reason to excuse our behavior is so lame loh. Yah.. no one is perfect. But just admit our own issues! Don't need to pull the entire world into the picture and call another a saint for trying to point it out.

sm... the thing about name calling... its hard to point finger. Yes, we all can be guilty of it sometime or another. But it doesn't mean its something good and should be encouraged.

I agree with u that it does reflects on ourselves. Good point for everyone to reflect on.

When i go home after a hectic workload, there is dinner on the table and i know there is someone i love waiting for me at home.
If i can choose, i choose to remain single. if the partner is real good, it will not wait till i go grab. just like a piece of gold, it will be long been grab by someone b4 u can even know its existence.

Kenny, controversion does not equate to contradiction. I can tell you have been trying hard to be controversial, but so far, I can only see contradiction in your posts. Don't confuse yourself anymore. Not everyone has that thing to be controversial.

When I chose to focus on the things that really matter e.g. my happiness, family and close friends who really care about how I'm coping with things, work and closing the chapter on my marriage, whatever initial thoughts about what people could be saying about me behind my back wrt my marriage if they find out I'm getting divorced started to take a back stage. They just didn't matter anymore. I will never be able to stop people from gossiping anyway or name-calling at the worst. So why waste energy on things that cannot be changed? Might as well work on the things that are within my control.

Ok, I know I digressed from the question posted by the initial threadstarter. But, end of the day, it's all about making that conscious effort to make the appropriate mindset shifts.

"don't understand the fxcking crap that you are spouting"

Hi Simple, please mind your language. No abrasive word please. Please respect yourself. Thank you

Kenny...

Don't blame sm can?
I also don't understand what the fcuk you are saying as well...

People asked if you prefer single or married and WHY?...you said single and then you totally lost us after that...with that gold bar analogy...

PS : Fcuk is an appropiate word to use in both instances...it conveys our annoyance and irritation on the lack of logic in your post...which honestly, I got lost in the latter parts...

Blame? No la, not blame la. I am just worried some of the girls here might get offend from that word he used. Ya, i should write properly maybe i should start taking my medicine already hehe

get offended?
You're kidding me rite?

With the exception of a few slighty touchy gals in here (you know who you are, rite?)...I think the majority of the gals here won't take offense at that fcuk word...It's just another form of expression...

Our SG women can't be so delicate that they faint at the sight of that F word rite? I swear some of those gals I have met in my life can come up with juicer expressions than fcuk...trust me...

So no need to be such a perfect gentleman...

kenny,

Of course I respect myself. And I give you a little respect to use the F...king word to describe the words you used.

If I don't even respect you.. i will use the word directly on you.

powderful i agree f**k is a good word for expressing..nowadays we f here and there...knn..ccb here n there..lj here n there but no ladies has ever been offended ...
