well 2 hours of wash time, highly depends on settings. and in fact that is the standard washing time.. there abouts.. for continental style of washing for the wash to be effective.
and there is a short option. if you were to compare specs to spec, even though w562 is not relatively a new model its specs its even better if not on par with current models.
W562
Rated 6kg
Volume of drum is 55 litres (actual volumetric worth of clothes its washing)
Wash Cycle Cotton 60
Time 109 min
Consumptions 1.02kwh
Water Consumptions 49 litres.
Compare this to
Brandt wfk1248a
Rated 8kg
Volume of drum is 57 litres (actual volumetric worth of clothes its washing)
Wash Cycle Cotton 60
Time 125 min
Consumptions 1.36kwh
Water Consumptions 59 litres.
Okay cos the volumetric size is different. lets make per litre of clothes. Cos if you do consider based on rating its not fair cos technically if you load the same clothes into a drum, a bigger drum can accomodate more clothes but 55 and 57 litres is 6 kg and 8kg. I dun think so its fair to count that way so i presume we use the amount of space as a guide, Its fairer. look again.

Wash Cycle Cotton 60
Time 109 min is definitely shorter than brandt.
Consumptions 1.02kwh divide by 55 = 0.01854kwh of electricity per LITRE OF spaces of clothes worth.
Water Consumptions 49 litres. divide by 55 = 0.89089litres of water for every litre of clothes you wash.

Volume of drum is 57 litres (actual volumetric worth of clothes its washing)
Wash Cycle Cotton 60
Time 125 min
Consumptions 1.36kwh divide by 57 = 0.0238kwh of electricity consumed to wash per litre space worth of clothes. Thats more than miele.
Water Consumptions 59 litres divide by 57 = 1.0358 litres of clothes to wash one litre volumetric worth of clothes.
Gee so brandt isnt as energy savings as we thought it to really be.
and yes no doubt brandt has a optia45 where you can wash a full load about 45 mins . BUT that is if the clothes are lightly soiled. in singapore weather context its effective to use a normal cotton cycle. unless the lightly soiled means you use the clothes to sleep in a relatively cool environment. thats lightly soiled.
lets look at bosch then
Bosch WAS32791ME
Rated 8kg
Volume of drum is 65 litres (actual volumetric worth of clothes its washing)
Wash Cycle Cotton 60
Time 135 min
Consumptions 1.36kwh divided by 65 = 0.0209kwh per litre of clothes. Better than brandt but worse than miele.
Water Consumptions 56 litre divide bt 65 = 0.8615
yes in terms of water consumptions, this is just very slightly better than miele, of course way better than brandt.
So yeah. ratings vs actual load you put in can differ. Like the LG machines, i called up LG hQ in korea to verify that yes their drum size for their 8kg washers are 57 litres. as compares to brandt which is the same 57 and versus bosch of 65litres and electrolux 8kg washers are 63 litres big.
SO yeah and look at the consumtions too. brandt states that those consumptions are for normal 6 - 7 kg cotton cycle even though its rated 8kg washer.
and guess what, this miele is only the basic range, and its competing with the top range of each of the other competitors.
lets look at miele top range washer then
miele 4446
Rated 6kg
Volume of drum is 55 litres (actual volumetric worth of clothes its washing)
Wash Cycle Cotton 60
Consumptions 1.02kwh divide by 55 = 0.01854kwh of electricity per LITRE OF spaces of clothes worth.
Water Consumptions 47 litres. divide by 55 = 0.854 litres of water for every litre of clothes you wash which is best. and its featuring full enamelled body guaranteed not to chip, rust or yellow.
