The Sentosa, A Beaufort Hotel

Hi Cat! I can totally relate to that; must have taken numerous breaks myself. I distinctly remembered that there were weekends when we agreed NOT to discuss wedding planning. haha!

Just one thing: Did you manage to contact Mr. Tan? I have his mobile no now but i thought that i should not make it public here.;-)

Yes, am almost ready! But, am definitely ready for our honeymoon in Koh Samui..I can't wait for the break..

Woo hoo!! Koh Samui - that's good. Away from the hustle & the bustle
happy.gif

Yes I did! He sounds very fatherly & friendly too. I hope my hubby will like him. He was quite upset with one of the JPs that I contacted. She returned my call on a Saturday night around 10.30pm & he picked up the call. He said to me later "I don't like her. I don't like her accent & I don't like that returns your call at this time of the night." -_- ok .........

then i told him about mr tan. he said he will follow up, since he's the fussy one here. :P

Hahah! Ya, let your hubby do the followup!!

As always, just buzz me if you need information on any of the vendors..:-) It's not easy doing it the ala-carte way but it is extremely rewarding!:-)

Not yet:-) When i saw him last week, it was for the 2nd final fitting and to see the beaded work. They are still :-) adding more beads to certain areas and finishing up the veil. Anyway, i have to send my cheong sum for an inspection and then Louis will steam iron it for me again.

Your PS is coming up soon right since your party is in Oct?

Oh wow!!! I get very nervous when Louis said he's going to start cutting the fabric
happy.gif

We are targetting for the 1st week of Jul as we'll be away on the 2nd week. Havent even started my dieting or work out yet!!! Bought my gym outfits but still havent sign up for the gym. That's how hopeless I am.

I told Louis & the photographer - i need lots of make up & not just on my face! Cover up those cellulites!!!!! :D

How did your PS go? When did you had yours?

Hahaha! Do u like to run? If yes, just start to run..No need to go to the gym;-) Am sure u will be very beautiful for your PS, under the daft hands of Louis and your photographer. I just saw that you signed up with Portraits, it's Kelvin or Kevin? Are u doing both indoor & outdoor shoots?

My photographer was Chris of Chris Ling. We did ours in Dec, just before we left for X'mas in Italy. We just collected our album this Monday so it took 4 months to complete. We opted for very simple venues-just Emerald Hill and Sentosa. And even 2 places took us the whole day too...I guess because we only had 2 venues, we enjoyed the day, can just spend the time at our own ease.

Thats the problem. I hate to SWEAT! hahahaha ... i am very lazy :P

Its Kelvin. We're doing only indoor because i hate to SWEAT! nah, its pure laziness. Louis is going to do an outfit for me for the PS too .. supposedly a racy red thingy. I havent seen it yet. & we're going siao with ideas ... hahaha .. even if photos dont turn out well, at least we'll have a field day!!!

Hey PK! I know you must be busy busy now with the wedding just a few days away!

Just want to wish you both a lifetime of everlasting love & happiness! Congratulations!
happy.gif

Muak! & a hug
happy.gif

oooh!! congratulations PK!! only 3 more days to go?

if you manage to quieten down the night before the wedding, do take some time to log down some of your thoughts. all the excitement, and the feeling of loss at the same time... you'd enjoy reading back again and again after the wedding madness is long over. ;)

have a blast at the wedding!!

Thank you Cat & Stickymouse for your well wishes! Yes, we are ready for our day tomorrow! Finaly settled the guests in the hotel, had the all-important parents' lunch and now, am resting at home and waiting for my home massage lady.;-)

Am in total agreement with u, Stickymouse! In Sept, we attended the Catholic Engaged Encounter and were given 2 letters from previous participants; so we will read those letters later, take stock and be inspired.

Thanks again, girls! I will be back the week after next.:-)

Helloo girls! I am back! And married! and Half-rested!!:-) Had a whirlwind week and was back on Sun.

To all the BTBs who will be having their dinner at Sentosa Resort & Spa, i have to exclaim: This hotel is simply THE BEST!! Two thumbs up to Clara (the wedding coordinator) and Steven (banquet manager). They are true professionals. We were really in good hands.:-) The food and the presentation were very well received; both the local and overseas guests love the food and especially the dessert buffet! The entire italian entourage spent about 4 nights in the Resort and they had nothing but praises for the service.

Hi Rie! If you are still in doubt about using A LITTLE DREAM, hesitate no more. They were a blast! My girlfriend, who is very straight and honest, was initially sceptical about us hiring a band (with the cost & all) but she told me that it was really worth the $; they really helped to drum up the mood. The band wrote a little entry on us in their blog-check it out. http://alittledream02.livejournal.com/282813.html

Hi Cat! The gowns by Louis were winners! The girlfriend who introduced me to Louis, also worn her cheongsum by Louis. We had a cheong sum showcase by default as several of the asian women wanted to showcase their cheongsums.

Hi Stickymouse! Are you all ready?;-) Am hoping to join u in Motherhood soon so wish me luck! We had a babies galore at the party; imagine 110 guests which includes almost 15 babies and toddlers, haha!

And, as always, share your updates!;-)

Hey PK! Thanks for sharing and I went to their blog and it seemed as though everyone truly enjoyed themselves! And I must say, you looked simply ravishing! I love your tan, btw! :D

I would definitely consider A Little Dream! Thanks for the tip!

I'm glad you had a wonderful, wonderful time!

Congratulations!!! thanks for the link.
happy.gif

Beautiful gown, beautiful bride, beautiful location. can't ask for more right????
happy.gif

By the way, we've moved our wedding to Brisbane. It was a last minute decision & mind you, a very hard one as well. So now, we have to ship the Spore team over. *sigh*

hello PK!! wow sounds like your wedding was a blast. makes me think back of my own wedding... sigh... so nice.

pls do share more photos when the time comes! i love seeing pretty things ;D

and i'm glad to hear you're game for motherhood. initially when i started off with the pregnancy, it's just "changes going on inside of me"... but as the time to deliver approaches, the emotions have blossomed into wonderful kind of love for my soon-to-be child.

really looking forward to it! i'm counting down, 5 weeks (or less) to go
happy.gif

Cat, what do you mean by move your wedding to Brisbane? so you're not holding a party at the Sentosa anymore?

Yes Stickymouse, the wedding is moved from Singapore to Brisbane.
sad.gif

Sentosa is cancelled :'(

Everyone is excited except me. Starting from scratch with only 6 mths to go ....

Hey Cat! Have u already shortlisted your venue in Brisbane? How about your gowns and photoshoot in SG? Chin up okie, am sure all the details will come together wonderfully, just the way u want it to be!! It is still going to be in Oct? Sorry for the 101 questions.:-(

Hi Stickymouse! It's really touching to hear your words.:-) Are you going to take care of Ethan on your own or having your mum or mum-in-law take care of the baby? Do you worry that u will have less time for u & your hubby? U know what i mean? I have to admit that i worry about having less couple time but we really like to have a baby while we are in sg (never know when we have to move la)...

No worries, Rie! Have you already met with your coordinator? I vaguely remember that u were supposed to have a meeting in april.

Thanks girls for all your well wishes!:-) Am truly happy that we had a blessed day.

hi girls, i recently got a call from vanessa and that she's quitting the hotel. our wedding will be transfered to clara, any feedback on what she's like?? i'm so shocked.. this is the second time we'v been transfered to another planner. from cathy to vanessa and now to clara.

Hi PK, sorry for the late reply. Just back from Brisbane & we've confirmed our wedding venue. What a relief!

Louis is still making the gowns as I'll still need them. The studio shoot is postponed to next year after everything dies down & the actual day package is given my mother as a glamour shoot for her.

Yes the wedding is still in Oct this year, but brought forward by a week to the 24th. This time round, have got a wedding planner to do everything, otherwise I will pengsan!

happy.gif

Hi Cat!! Good to hear from you!! Confirmed your wedding venue + hired a wedding planner! I say u are in a good place now!hahaha! Am happy for u; am sure that your stress has been halved!:-) Are you sticking to having a BBQ?

Hahaha, am slowing returning to the calmness of our normal routines but yes, please still keep me posted on your selections!;-)

Hi Anita A, i have posted several comments on Claire. In short, we find her to be very professional and sincere so i think you are in good hands.:-)

hi PK! very nice! did Simply flowers do ur floral arrangements? i'm really quite disappointed with what she can provide. according to her the hotel is not giving her much so she cant exercise her creativity much.

hi anita! I totally understand what u are going through..Yup, Jane did my on-site floral arrangements. U are 100% right that her designs are limited. To be perfectly honest, Jane handles big clients and budgets so i dun think she is preoccupied with the smaller projects.

I had no top-up and i got Faye (from Audrey's, the alternative florist) to do my hand bouquet, car decor. Faye is definitely not as creative as Jane but she is very generous. So, if you have a definite idea of what you want and wants Faye to replicate a certain arrangement, i think she can do that with ease. Hope this helps!:-)

Hi Cat!! So good to hear from you!:-) How's your planning? Any pictures to share with us?;-) Will u be making more trips to Brisbane?

Am well, thanks! In fact, am heading down to Louis' to see some fabrics for hubby's vest. Hahaha, he wants a change of vest for the celebration in Italy..hmmm, maybe i can change my shoes or something...hahahha!

Hi PK
happy.gif

Planning is right on schedule. The planner is very 'on-the-ball' so much so that I'm left with nothing to do but sit back until October! Kinda miss the planning bits now ... :P

So, I don't foresee anymore trips to Brisbane until the wedding. Our shoot is not due until the wedding day & the studio ones will be after CNY next year (then i'll get a chance to wear my wedding dress again! hehe).

Be careful at Louis. He may just tempt you into another outfit ;) Going to see him this Sat cos that's exactly what happened to my mother!! She wants another outfit from him .. *sigh*

Hey Cat!

It's wonderful that your planner is so on-the-ball that u can just relax and prep yourself and look pretty on your big day!! Wow, your shoot is only due after CNY, i honestly think that it is wonderful to space things out so that u can enjoy the process more and not just rush through things. I think CNY 2010 happens around Valentine's Day!;-)

Will you be giving out wedding favors in Brisbane? Am asking because wedding favors are given out in Italy too and i am thinking of bringing something from SG. Am still checking out STYLE ME PRETTY and MARTHA STEWART for ideas so that i can adapt accordingly..maybe cute jars of kaya jams?

As for Louis, i think not much chance that i will make another outift.;-) The celebration in Italy is strictly a one-outfit event i.e. my wedding gown..hahaha! What outfit is your mum making?

Gosh PK, seriously I am SO lazy these days. I browsed all these wedding websites but did NOTHING!
happy.gif

I think I'm already in that mode where I just let things takes its course. I didn't realise it until last week when the planner called me with apologies. Apparently the venue is double booked on the date that I wanted & so I have to move my date to either the day before or the day after. She was all ready to tackle an upset bride when I said, "ok, lets do the Sunday." I think she was a little disappointed with the lack of drama ;)

Yes, we'll be giving out wedding favors. I want to do charity favors but I'm getting resistence from my in-laws & my family. They think that looks cheap. I think that is practical. So, we haven't settled yet.

Initially when I started planning the wedding for Singapore, I was toying between heart-shaped pineapple tarts (a friend was going to bake them) and kachang puteh in paper cones. Kaya jams in cute little jars would be SO cute!
happy.gif
If you are giving out food, check if the Italian customs allows you to bring in bulk food items.
happy.gif

Did you check out the Style Me Pretty wedding favor contest? There were lots of of great ideas there. Another site that you may be keen to check out is http://www.weddingbee.com/ - its all about ideas & blogs from brides. There is a tag on favors as well.

I really dont know what my mom wants. She keeps changing her mind. Poor Louis, he has a tough time keeping up with her
happy.gif

When is your Italy wedding? Is it August or September? I remember its like a month or so before mine. Where will it be held? Is it a church wedding? Sorry, this all sounds so romantic to me
happy.gif

hahaha! Cat! i think u have reached the level 9th where u are all zen and at peace/at ease with the arrangements! Good for u!! So, no Bridezilla moments! I had one, u know and it happened the night before my pre wedding shoot. I bought a simple dress from Daniel Yam and all of a sudden, i felt that it was too simple..duh!! The poor partner had to repeat to me to calm me down--U said it was your dream dress!! Thankfully, that was my ONE and ONLY B moment..;-)

Yes, i remembered your pineapple tart and your charity favor ideas! Tough one there, i have to say! How big is your party? If it is a big party, your friend will probably have to do OT.;-)

Thanks for the weddingbee heads-up, i will be sure to check it out! I honestly dun have much left to do. We will have a church ceremony followed by dinner at this restaurant on the hillside of Pavia. http://www.sasseo.com/index.asp It was really coincidental when my in-laws met with the chef, turns out that he was previously stationed at the Four Seasons in SG. So, maybe we will get a laksa of sorts!;-)

Wow Anita! You have a great blog! I've been wanting to put everything that I like together but just never got round to it! I'm glad that you did. Now I can just visit your blog ;) When is your wedding?

Oooo PK, church ceremony, so romantic!!! Is it day or an evening ceremony? Will you have a chapel or a catheral veil to go with our wedding gown? & maybe you can speak to the chef to prepare a signature Singapore course as a surprise?
happy.gif
So cool! I've checked out the website. All italian just managed to pick up a few words here & there. hahaha

Hi Cat! It's a late afternoon ceremony i.e. church ceremony at 4:30pm followed by photo-taking and then we will adjorn to the restaurant for cocktails and dinner. Yes, i am contemplating having a long veil for the church.;-) It's a very old church (as with most architecture in Italy!) so i think a traditional vibe will be appropriate. Re the wedding favor, my chef brother thinks that we should actually bring the kaya over and get the chef busy! Toast some bread and include it in the menu..;-) one chef "tekan-ing" the other...

Hi Anita! I checked out your blog--what a feast for the eyes! Great work there!:-) And YES, do enjoy the process!

Hi didee, i do not have the package prices for 2010. Do approach Clara Beh of events; she is a friendly and professional lady.

Hey Cat!:-) Just saw Louis on Monday. Confirmed that my hubby will get a new vest while i am getting a l o n g veil..hahah!

I wanted to tap on all your great ideas! What flowers are u using for your hand bouquet? I always liked the clean lines of calla lillies but i figure that i should have a change since i already had that for the SG party! Plus, it is always nice to "try" a different look! hehe

Woohoo PK!!!!

I wanted a white bouquet. The flowers shortlisted were Calla Lily
happy.gif
, orchids, daisies, chrysanthemums & peonies. I ended up with white chrysanthemums instead. I saw on the brides in Style Me Pretty carrying it & I was blown away.

I know the chinese are very pantang - Chrysanthemums are not exactly 'celebratory' flowers to them but hey, mine is not a Chinese wedding
happy.gif
I spoke to Louis about it too since he's quite an 'expert' on such things & he said it should be fine.

But what are your wedding colors?

Hey Cat.:-) Do share with me the picture of the white chrysanthemum bouquet that u saw on Style Me PrettY! White chrysanthemums is, indeed, a bold choice! But I have to agree that yours is not a Chinese wedding so u certainly have the leeway to break free.:-)

When we started on the wedding planning, my aunt (who has an angmo son-in-law) said "no need to follow all the chinese rules la since u are marrying an angmo." And since she is the eldest sister, her words rule.;-)

Hmmm, wedding colour for Italy is white. The church decor will mainly be in white and people shy away from using yellow as it is the colour of jealousy. I have shortlisted two orange-hue bouquets, one pale pink and one white & blue, haha! Do you know the name of the pale pink flower?

Thanks Cat! Sorry for the late reply. I am in love with the bouquet featured in the last thread above. So romantic!!

I saw the white chrysanthemum bouquet too! Very very sweet!!! Especially when it is set aside the black bridesmaid dresses; can tell that the bride is a very fashion forward lady!

I have not decided on my bouquet but i guess i have to pretty soon...

Our thread has gone quiet; no other Sentosa brides?;-)

Hello there, I am actually reporting in for my first (long) post in this thread.
happy.gif

I've been reading many predecessors' comments and information, and am thankful to know things are running smoothly despite the staff turnover at the SRnS over the past few months.

After much fretting about colours, themes and budget, I was at Audrey's the florist with Faye one afternoon...AND. All. My. Worries. Were. Allayed.

Very grateful that Faye generously shared all the information and possibilities that I can have at the Grand Salon. She is very experienced with the location, I'd have to say. Coming from an event organising background, you'd be very safe with Audrey's for floral decoration needs.

Simply Flowers is great too, by the most professional standards. It's only that I am looking for a jewel-toned wedding and Audrey's available set-ups fit my theme bettter. If you're into chic, modern, very-Sex-in-the-City arrangements with constantly evolving themes, Simply Flowers's Jane is great to discuss with.

Photoshoot was done at Judy in Taiwan: http://judywedding.com/ - would recommend couples to try photo shoots once in a lifetime at a reputable Taiwanese bridal company even if not for THE wedding. Due to intense competition in the field, standards are quite high on the average...

Exceptionally professional team, great scenery, fantastic MUA, really quick turnaround of clothes, photos. Most importantly the photog could really bring out our personalities. It was the most enjoyable part of the pre-wedding arrangements to date, and I'm looking forward to more moments that top the list as I count down to the big day.

Cheers to all the SRnS brides!

I'm glad you like them PK. Hopefully they can help you in narrowing down your choices
happy.gif

Joan - congratulations on your upcoming wedding in SRnS. When is your big day?
happy.gif

Hello girls! Our thread is extremely quiet these days!!!

Stickymouse - How are you & Ethan getting along?!

Cat -How have u been?! Busy with the wedding planning or chilling out now?

Hi Joan & Anita! Getting excited about your BIG DAY?

I just celebrated my 3th month anniversary at Sentosa resort; went for a Swedish massage at the Spa, followed by a cocktail at the bar next to The Cliff. What can i say? We are hooked to this hotel..;-)

Okie dokie, i hope everyone is well and do post if you can.
